Congrats to Cookeville on their big victory. WC you have made us all very proud in Region 4 with your desire, talent, and classy program. You have made history. You may have wanted more, but you will get it if you keep on with that winning attitude that you have displayed all season.

Cookeville played a scrappy bunch tonight in Wilson Cty. The Cavs were as non prepared as any game this season. I don't think it was an overlook by the players but an overlook by the coaches. The Cav play calling was as predictable as years gone by- 2 up the middle then a sweep or a long pass. Or then 3 incomplete passes. The defensive secondary was slow to make adjustments and seemed scared to come up and make the hits needed on the sweeps and short passes.

The Cav punting game was miserable and must be changed. The only bright spot was the Cavs played terrible and made huge mistakes but when they went down 14-7 in the 2nd quarter they showed character and stormed back, scoring 2 TDs before half time.

Then with over 4 minutes left in the game and the Cavs up 36-14 in goes the substitute running backs for Cookeville and a fumble and run back for 70 yards gives Wilson Central a chance for an onside kick and possibly an opportunity back in the game. It's playoff time, only up by 22 why substitute with that much time on the clock!

I hope Cookeville had their wake up call tonight-because Lebanon will not allow anyone to storm back!

Wilson Central played well but just didn't have the athletes to win but they gave it their all!

I dont know about you but personally i thought the secondary played well. With Hennigan intercepting two passes. I also dont think Coach Joslin and the other coaches have overlooked anybody this season.

Congrats Wildcats, all of us Lebanon folk are extremely proud of you guys. You represented Region 4 and Wilson County extremely well. Keep your heads up, you have built a solid foundation over there that will keep you competitive from now on. Just wait 'til next year.

Cookeville. here we come! It's hard to beat a team twice in the same year, especially when both are at CHS. Should be a great one, I can't wait. Haven't been back to Cookeville (with the exception of playing tennis there) since I broke up with my Cavalier girlfriend just over a year ago ;)

    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
    • Going to grundle Troy Fleming?
    • I agree I don't think it will go to trial either, but I feel like that will be because no judge would deem this to warrant a law suit... If the school board settles, they loose and all coaches and schools loose too.
