White House 49 Columbia 28

After a lackluster 1st quarter filled with turnovers for both teams and a 7-7 tie, my Blue Devils decided to play a little ball to take a 21- 7 lead into halftime.

 

Took the 2nd half kickoff, ran it down Columbias throat, taking a 28-7 lead and basically used the rest of the game to play a lot of players and score a lot more points.

 

The WH offensive line DOMINATED this game. Ladd had two long TD runs, rushed for probably 150-175 yards. Other backs had big games also. Passing game accounted for at least 125 yards, as we really didn't need the passing game the 2nd half.

 

Columbia scored on a couple of long runs as we substituted freely, but it was still a little troubling, as we normally will give up some yardage, but usually not the big play.

 

Was a little disappointed in the seemingly dirty play of a few Columbia players, enjoying hitting players well away from the play. Had a player ejected and a lot of mouthing, which was weird since they were gettin' their hat handed to 'em.

 

Columbia lost to some good teams in close games, but this game wasn't close. We basically played physical football, not really good football, Columbia got tired, and then got stomped.

Great job neighbors. You even got a pretty good cheer at Greenbrier when they announced the score. Keep it going! We sure would love to be your seat warmers in Murfreesboro in a few weeks........

Those are correct. At the half, Columbia had 60 total yards.
