Too many of you are looking too far ahead. Everyone thats left in the play-offs is undefeated (1-0) and anybody can win. We must take it one game at a time. GP is the only thing on our minds at this point. Any road game in the play-offs will be tough and Friday nights matchup should be a good one. I'm sure Coach Webb and his staff will have our Tigers ready to play!!!! Go Tigers!!!!!!!!

Eric0499- Why even play the game if you think your going to lose. Ijust put you in the same catagory as cchsjets and that ain't a good thing. I hope Rockywood gets a rematch and proves Alcorny ain't all that. and if they don't oh well at least they played the game. Last time may have been 35-0 but Rockwood hurt themselves way too much to win. 2 or 3 plays and that game would have been different. Alcoa is good but so is Rockwood.

The field at G-P is an odd one.

yeah ok, i thout u were being serious, my bad, sorry, kurr said that stuff cause he is a sore looser, bottom line, but it is suppose to rain alot here thursday n friday , if it does the field wil be in bad shape for sure , it doesnt drain good anymore for some reason, but it might slow those backs down for rockwood a lil bit, two different styles of teams so who knows what will happen, good luck to all and lets keep the smack talk on the field down just play football

Rockwood will need to take advantage to their speed to win. With all of this rain coming in the past two days and the field being a mudpit at GP, this is looking more and more like it will be a great game. The rain and sloppy field probably play more for GP because it will slow the speed of Rockwood down. This one should be a good one. Good luck to both teams playing in the mud.

It has been said that rain is the great equilizer. Last night that was proved true. The first half saw GP score a field goal after a fmble on the first play of the game gave them a short field. The rest of the first half was a large mud wrestle that resulted in a draw. Neither team had much success running out side the tackles, this probably worked in GP's favor as Rockwood's speed was just about neutralized. The entire first half Rockwood played on their end of the field. After Half time Rockwood was able to flip the field when they forced a 3 and out. The third quarter would end after Matt Goddard opened up a big run t othe 5 yd line and then was hit out of bounds for an additional 2.5 yds from the Highlanders. On the first play of the 4th quarter Pendergrass banged it home from 3 yds out for Rockwoods first points of the game. After forcing Gatlingburg into a 3 and out Rockwood drove the ball to GP 5 yd line. ON 4th and 3 Rockwood QB Corey payne tried to call time out with one second on the play clock but was about 4 seconds late. After teh 5 yd penalty Gus booted home a Field Goal to give Rockwood a 10-3 lead. A 7 point lead with only 2 50 on the clock seemed insurmontable. But Not so Fast...GP rolled out a short pass game that moved the ball down the field to 10 yd line. It may have been better for GP had they not got so close to the end zone, as Rockwood's secondary could now use the back of the endzone as a 12th man. GP abandoned teh pass and tried to pound the ball in. After minimal gaines on the first couple of plays, GP's QB rolled out on a naked bootleg but the Tigers were not fooled. The GP QB was hit and the ball squirted out and Rockwood DL Dan Chandler fell on the ball. GP still had 3 time outs and 1 50 on the clock. Rockwood played failr conservatively runnign the ball up the gut for no yds on two plays. On third and 10 Payne gained 8 on a bootleg. Afte GP called their last time out Rockwood took an intential Saftey bringing th escore to 10-5. The insuing free kick landed fairly short and in the quagmire did not roll. Leaving GP with the ball around the Rockwood 45. Gp passed the first 3 downs connecting for about 8 yds. On 4th down the Highlanders tried to run it up the gut but Rockwood D-Line and Linebackers wouldnt allow it. Rockwood received the ball on downs and killed the clock.

This was a classic game, an old fashioned mud bath. Rockwood won the game without a single completion.

Injury notes:

Rockwood RB Billy Moffit left the game in the first half with a leg inury. Rockwood DT Jeremy Broome did not play because of back spasms.

Will someone please tell G-P they have probably the worst field in AA ball.

825431258[/snapback]

I think they should already know it. On G-P's side, you could tell the players that were not planning on playing.. they were wearing ponchos. I found that quite hilarious, but in all seriousness, Congrads to Rockwood and good luck to G-P in their seasons to come. Lets go for Alcoa next week with a big upset. Go Tigers!!
