Ooltewah fell hard to hixson in the jamboree, this so good to be basketball team didnt prove anything to anyone losing to a weak team(hixson)! What is wrong with this picture?

haha just keep thinking everything you are saying simon, were you at the jamboree, did you see what happened, baker didn't start the regular starters, they didn't even get into the game until there was less than 7 minutes left and they were down by more than 10, and did you see the comeback that they made in no time, and that was even minus one of their starters when they did even come in since he was out of town....so think what you like

Don't you play for Hixson? Way to show confidence in your team and like mnewballer said, the starters didn't come out until half the quarter was already over. Quarter of play.....Lets just wait for the regular season.

Weak hixson. I don't know about that. yeah ooltewah didn't start their normal five for whatever reason, but hixson pulled everyone with like eight minutes left. ( that's when your guys came in down 11) of course you will rally against sophamores. when hixson's top 4 came back in they were still up 3 and it ended that way.

Ooltewah will be a quality team but don't hate on hixson for no reason.

i dont necessarily agree. why show what you've got when the game doesn't "matter." if ooltewah, red bank, and other coaches were sitting in the bleachers, each could be taking notes and doing some preseason scouting. i don't think it was such a bad move that "C Daddy" (Coach Baker) didn't start the starters. Maybe somehting happened at practice, that convinced him that they didn't deserve to start. After all it's the jamboree, not the regular season. Maybe C Daddy wanted to prove that he isn't going to tolerate less than the best. Again, Hixson isn't that weak... keep thinking that zander, and November 22nd will be a rude awakening.

haha you are obviously not very smart, why are you supposed to show everyone what you got, a jamboree means nothing and proves nothing....last year ooltewah got spanked in the jamboree something like 25-12 to baylor, and then that saturday in a full game ooltewah beat them by 24, so jamborees dont tell what will happen in the season....and to whoever the hixson fan was sayin i was hatin, no i was just tellin you what people told me, no one said anything to me about hixsons starters being pulled so lay off, just my sources from other schools told me that ooltewah's starters were a little more impressive, thats all

Ha, you don't have to do SQUAT at the jamborees. Baker was just experimenting people in different spots. It would be smart to show what you have at th jamboree, this I agree with, but then again, what you have could be the best kept secret around town..

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
