it was like all the rockwood fans disappeared after they talked SOOOO much about how they were going to kill alcoa last time.  Then magically they came back for this thread and not surprisingly, they're saying the same thing they said last time.  If alcoa wins again that means rockwood fans will not be posting on this board again until August 2005 (go alcoa for that reason alone).

Hmm... I wonder why... maybe because we post on threads that have to do with the team we are playing that week? And for the record, nobody ever said we were gonna "kill" Alcoa. And for another record, there is a big difference between a thread and a board. Yes Rockwood will always be on this board and we will be on this thread for 2 or 3 more posts congradulating the team that wins. Which by the way, we (Rockwood) probably wont be seeing any Alcoa fans, well the stuck up ones that I'm not mentioning, on here congradulating Rockwood. Anyways, once again, good luck to both teams.

Glad to hear that Moffitt may be able to play. I'd like to see both sides at their best for this one.

I'll be pulling for Alcoa and expect Alcoa to win based on the first meeting and the scores against common opponents. However, this is high school football and anything can happen when you get to the playoffs.

I hope all of you Rockwood fans have a safe trip to Alcoa on Friday. The weather says showers so be careful. I look forward to seeing all of you at Goddard Field for what should be a very good football game.

As I have said before, I apologize for the few Alcoa fans that have gotten a little overzealous in their support of Alcoa. I assure you, they do not speak for all Alcoa fans.

Basically, all of the trash talking that has gone on means nothing. The real deal will be settled between the sidelines. When the game is over and the dust settles (or mud), I hope both teams can say they played their best and showed good sportsmanship in doing so. May the best team win and proudly represent the region in the semi-finals.

I can't believe you Rockwood fans are still talking trash after that beating we put on yall the first time. I actually thought that game would be close, and I rushed home from school to see it! I know you all are just pulling for your team, but let's keep it real here!!!! Alcoa is way to talented for Rockwood!!! Alcoa by at least 28!! thumb

Exactly! This is what you people do not understand. You all keep bringing up " Oh Rockwood doesnt play any good teams except Alcoa and they got blasted by them and Rockwood dont play teams like Maryville." How long ago was Alcoa vs. Maryville? Week 2 or 3? But yet just because Maryville is a 4A team, they are being brought up for every excuse. Everybody on this thread knows the people that do have class and the ones the dont have class. I'm not mentioning any names, but most of the are on Alcoa's side, making Alcoa look like stuck-up team and get way ahead of theirselves. I'm not calling Alcoa that by-far, I'm just saying most of the Alcoa fans on this thread make the team look that way. Heard some talk, very possible that the coaches are letting Moffitt play Friday. So that is very good news for Rockwood. Tigers, do good in practice for the rest of the week and be well-rested for Friday and prove these Tornadoes wrong! Go Tigers!!

Well we hope Moffit is ready to go so there won't be any exuses. Fiegler and Co. will do whatever they want to with that Rockwood secondary. Alcoa by 21. thumb

The comment...is it just me or does anyone else think Rockwood is garbage? is what got it ALL started.

We do so because of Alcoa fans that started it, one simple Rockwood fan said they are pulling for Rockwood and here goes SOME Alcoa fan, not all with the trash.

Yes, Moffitt will be playing Friday night.

Why is Alcoa even worried about Rockwood? Alcoa has been going to the 4th round since the 1st round. Alcoa beat Rockwood 35-0. Alcoa should worry about David Lipscomb. They are your real competition. This is just a warm-up game. You all have #1, #2, and #3 plus #8 and #20. Rockwood just has 23 and 2 and that is it. You shouldn't worry about anything. As you have said Rockwood is just garbage and they haven't played anyone, and they are just lucky that they are 11-1 and they don't have any talent. Rockwood should just forfit. It was a good run boys. No one believes that Rockwood can win. As one guy said, "why waste the gas?"

Im happy to hear that Moffit will be playing friday night and I hope that rockwood brings their "A" game because Alcoa will bring theirs. Too much fire power on O for that ridiculous defense I saw that Rockwood has. Good luck to both teams and drive safe Rockwood fans. thumb

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
