I don't know all the Tennessee wrestlers that are in the tournament, but I did notice that Corey Manson has made it to the 130 semi-finals. thumb

RMC, correct me if I am wrong, I believe I heard that Collins Hill had 3 guys in the Finals. Knapp, Parker and HWT.( I don't recall his name, sorry). Knapp 2nd, Parker 1st, did not hear the outcome of HWT's match. Keep up the good work! See ya' at the Cleveland Duals.

Congratulations to Jed Hussein, Baylor junior and a second year (I think) wrestler. He met Nic Bundy in the consolations and won 2-0. Jed went 4-2 and almost placed. What a great pre-season tournament for him!

kdxdude......the HWT is a junior named Leon Delain; he wrestled 215 for us last year. He ended up finishing 2nd.

 

If you count the 8th and 9th grade we had 5 in the finals.

Who were your 8th & 9th graders? What weights are they and how did their finals matches wind up?

kdxdude.......Taylor Knapp (Thomas' brother)....112...8th grader finished 1st, Nick Smith...152..9th Grader finished first.

I wasn't that impressed with Justin Knox, he was in a weight class with 10 guys and took 6th! His first match he barely won 3-1 to a North Carolina kid who should have won, and second round barely won 3-2. All I saw from him was a lot of pushing and waiting for the other guy to shoot. He looked badly out of shape, he got tired earlier and had the other guys who lost to him had enough strength he would have been done for. I was looking foward to watching him wrestle to see the work he had done over summer to improve, but I didn't see anything too impressive. I hope he gets in better shape so I can see him wrestle in top condition.

After losing, why did Knox forfiet the rest of his matches? Did he get hurt?

Where were the other Farragut wrestlers? Saw a few at Karns, but not the "Varsity" crew.
