Just a thought on what I got to see at playday.

 

Best Team: M.J. --- Best I saw.

 

Worst Team Ball: Oak Hill ----- Can anyone say selfish!!!!

 

Team that fought the hardest: Summertown and Perry County .... These two A's knocked off the AAA schools they played with defense and of course the girl at PC is all that!

 

Biggest Surprise: Shelbyville ... But just wait, I know the end product will be much different.

 

Best Teams By Class:

 

AAA ..... M.J. see above

 

AA ...... Loretto, but those 7AA schools are right there. 7AA is gonna have to beat on each other before they go beat someone else . It's gonna be close over there.

 

A ------ Summertown and Perry County: Both these teams are the real deal.

 

Did not mention your team??? I most likely did not get to to see them. So tell me all about em!!!

This is way off of subject, but I know that you know your Lawrence County basketball so I was wondering if you might could help me. I was wondering if you knew what days and times E.O. Coffman and Summertown were playing? It should be great games as always, and since we know many of the girls on both teams, we would like to come down and watch it if our schedule allows it. Nope, I was watching either Summertown, Loretto or Riverdale at that time, just not sure which one. I saw Shelbyville and Jackson North and I saw Oak Hill play MJ. I ain't had this much fun in a long time. It is the greatest game on this earth.

 

Our team showed progress over what I saw at Columbia. With this group, that is what i want to see each week (PROGRESS). If we can do that, then by the end of the year we should be able to hang with the big girls. We did not beat anyone we should not have, but coach did play a lot of people and he only played the younger girls against Upperman. Don't get me wrong on this one, Upperman is a fine team and some of the girls that we played in that game do see a lot of playing tme.

Summertown and Coffman have already played their first game this year. The Coffman girls and boys managed a win. Both were tough games although the girls stretched the lead late. Summertown girls are small and young this year. Just give em a little time. It will be harder the second time around for Coffman unless they have a couple of girls step up to where they should be. I am gonna have to ask for help on the date and place of the next game. Seems the people that keep up the Junior High portion of the Summertown web site are not doing it this year so I don't know the date. The Coffman gym had a fire early on and the first game had to be played at Summertown, so I assume they will reverse the schedule on the next. Just something to keep in mind. I will try and get dates and post.

Summertown and Coffman play on Monday Jan 3, 2005 at 6:00 PM, there is supposed to be a boys JV game at 4:30 . . Im pretty sure this will be played at Coffman.

Unaka was handled in a bad second half against Livingston County.

 

I think they lost to Lawrence County by two and to Moore County by three.

 

Unaka barely beat Loretto; I think it was a three point game.

 

 

I also heard that M J is THE TEAM.

Loretto played Unaka on Saturday afternoon. I was told that they got beat by 2points. It wasn't a true sign of Loretto at all. The Junior Varsity played the 2nd and 4th quarter, and the Varsity the 1st and 3rd quarter. When the Varsity was playing there was a "safe, secure" double digit lead. good day!! thumb

OK, people don't go gettin all worked up over a playday game. I don't see where anyone has totally misstated the facts here. Loretto and Unaka both have teams of which they should be most proud. I think Loretto is much the stronger of the two, but I really like #11 on Unaka. She is a real scrapper.

 

We could see both of these teams in the 'Boro'
