So long Boyd. Now those of us in the Chattanooga area can finally read about something else in the paper, and watch something else on TV. The truth was finally revealed Friday night. Boyd finally played someone their own size, instead of the 18-player schools they routinely run over each year. Suddenly, "superstars" with outrageous stats during the regular season got a reality check. Funny how that happens when you play against a real team.

 

If you believe the hype, Boyd has the best athletes in East Tennessee. Wonder how many we'll see play on Saturdays in the future?

 

All of the Boyd hype would be easy to ignore if it weren't for the obnoxious attitude of some of its players and coaches, and many of its fans. They won with no class last year, and Friday night DCA made them pay.

 

I salute the talented and selfless players from both schools....there are some good kids at Boyd and DCA. But this game is sure to deflate some swelled heads. Maybe a few people will come back down to earth now.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
