I know Zach Custer is back....

I predict that Westmoreland will handle RBS pretty easily... just my opinion, and here are some reasons why I think so...

1) they can shoot the lights out from deep (no surprise)

2)they can run offense for like 45 seconds until they get a wide open jump shot or layup... they are extremely disciplined

3)They are extremely quick, even their big guys

However, one of their big guys (came off the bench) did get in a car wreck, he's ok and will be there, but I am not sure if he will be playing... that could play a factor.

Westmoreland really doesn't score a whole lot this year, but part of that is just because they take so much time to find a wide open shot. So their margins of victory do not necessarily reflect their level of dominance...

My prediction... Westmoreland 61 RBS 43

ballplaya you left out the most important ingredient to a westmoreland win DEFENSE.i hope you are mearly a fan, coach graves would be highly dissapointed to know a player that came through his program didnt want to play DEFENSE.

My mistake....and I am just an observer, so no offense to Coach Graves. However, I will say that though their defense is solid, its not as tight as in past years. I can remember seeing them play and every pass being denied and the on the ball defense being smoking hot. Also, their FC press isn't as effective in past years.

Like I said earlier, their defense is still very solid and they can definitely frustrate teams...just not like the past 3 or 4 years.

I guess I was spoiled by watching that WHS team a couple of years ago. ;)

BTW, where are all of the Westmoreland fans??? In the past, they have swarmed the CoachT boards....

playa ive only got to see them once and the team they played wasnt very good so your probably right about the defense although im sure it is still being pushed by the coaches. they're not as athletic or intense as in years passed.got some older kids playing but some of them havent had much experience.

    • I have no clue if Derek tried to talk some since into his dad or not about staying here. All he is going to accomplish is going from the oven to the frying pan. If I were the coach all Ale would freze over before I set back and watched one of my good players leave without a fight.
    • If this is true, South Gibson is taking a big chance. Passing on an experienced coach for a guy who has never coached at the high school level is a high risk move, especially in that district and region.
    • Dorian Eskridge was HVA's best back, 2011
    • Jo Byrns was a very solid team last year. Imo, I thought they presented the biggest challenge for us on our path to winning it all last year. I expect them to be in the conversation and one of the final few teams playing in Murfreesboro
    • I'm not sure you understand anything if you think DB's career and AD's career are comparable.  This is a terrible take.   Not to slight AD, He was a good player and he got better as he matured after high school.   But Desean had over 8,000 yards in HS and was a two-time Mr. Football.
