Dotson= Huge night

Well if he wanted a close tie to the AAU programs(which I'm sure he did) why didn't he hire Gomab?  Doesn't he coach an AAU team in Tennessee?  If you ask him he had better players on his team than anyone in the state.(Which might be true,arguably) I agree that Wade Houston didn't produce at Tennessee, but it wasn't the players he brought in that made him look bad it was his coaching and only he can answer for that.  As for Buzz, its hard to recruit for Tennessee unless you wear shoulder pads or play with a smaller ball(Summit). I agree that Buzz's job may be on the line but I don't think its because he has Recruited "Mid-Major" talent, it might be that he gets out coached.  He has the talent, just not the production.  05 class will turn it around.

I agree and disagreeyeah it is hard to sell UT men's basketball, but look it at like this up until recently I dont think some of the superstar basketball players in the state have been getting the recognition that they should so Buzz should have the upper hand on some of these kids, I mean look at Jerry Green when he was at UT he had no discipline yet they had about a three year stretch where they pretty darn good and five out of his top seven players were from the state of TN

Good posts, both Dawg and icecold... Both make valid points... Maybe the lack of success is a combination of both??? The better talent you have on your roster, the better it will make you look, ie Green. I will not argue whether or not Green was a a great coach, but he did have a lot of talent (alot of Tn talent in fact), and won alot of games. Peterson has had talent as well, but has surrounded that talent with kids that other SEC schools did not recruit...

Also, quit taking the Dotson thing personally. My last point was about UT hoops, Buzz, and why they haven't won more. And yes, Dotson is in that list, as he had ZERO other offers from High Major schools. That doesn't mean he won't end up being a great player; you never know. He could be All-SEC for all I know, but that doesn't take away from the fact he is yet another UT recruit not recruited by High Majors/ or another UT recruit better fit at the mid Major level...

First of all I'm not Mr. Leaver. But I would like everyone to understand that Dotson isn't a mid-major, because he's not going to play at one. Also I like to look at it like someone earlier did, even if things don't work out like they're supposed to (which I'm sure they will) he has an education from UT that he didn't have to pay a dime for. How many of us can say that?

The reason it is being taking personally is because it is a personal attack... to quote "and now Dotson" I guess all high-majors gave you a call before talking to Dotson huh... You have no idea what was offered and what wasn't.. you just don't.. That's why it becomes personal.. you waver back and forth to make it all look good like you meant something totally different from the way you said it earlier. As I said earlier.. we'll agree to disagree, but don't judge a kid before he gets a chance. However you want to candy coat what you said in previous posts, he stands on his own just like any other player out there. Again, this isn't questioning your ability to see talent, but it is questioning why you won't give a kid the benefit of the doubt! Go ahead and talk about UT basketball I personally think the future is only looking better, but I believe if I read this post correctly from the start it was about Matthew Dotson having a Triple Double not how come buzz can't recruit! thumb

cant say that i have heard that, but thats amazing if he did....

u know, before he got 43 points and 21 boards, u would think the opposing team would put a body on him, or maybe 2 or 3....

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
