According to unapproved website.com these are the top Freshman in East Tennessee. What are your thoughts about this list and who has been left out? Compiling a list of freshman is tough because of the lack of exposure and ability to watch Freshman and JV games. So, I think Andre Whitehead has done a good job with this list. I noticed a lack of Chattanooga names and a lack of names from the Upper East TN and Tri-Cities area. Where are the Science Hill's, Bradley Central's etc etc.. Please add you thoughts.........

michael nicolo shouldn't be on there? have you seen him play? he's good. he does a lot of things on the floor that don't go in the box score. he makes smart plays, picks for people makes good cuts. he should be on there. maybe lower but no doubt on there.

I dont think nicolo should be on there, but the high ranking is kinda ridiculous....but i think that browder is deserving of his ranking

i for one was not impressed with jenkins from bradley central. i think he is way overrated. i heard he was supposed to be the next oglesby but he's no where near that good.

That Jenkins kid is nothing. He didn't impress me at all. He is just an average player to me. He's a big baby, too.

Yeah, I've heard of Shannon Hollingsworth and I must say he's one of the top 30 players in the East Tennessee area. I don't understand why he's not in your list.

The coaches from Fulton didn't let Shannon play Freshmen this year because he's so much advance for that age group. However, he is playing JV and he's one of the top players on that team. I've been watching/coaching since 5th grade and I know how good he is. He was the league MVP in the KMS(Knoxville Middle School League) last year. He's a baller and if he can keep his grades up, he'll be one of the top players to come out of the Knoxville Area.

Darryl Florence and Leon Smith of Austin East should be higher up on that list as well. Mike Reynolds of Fulton well he should be a little lower. But those 3 players along with Will Bryant and Shannon all play on the same AAU team.

Dowdell as first is reasonable. He is top scorer occasionally for Varsity Oak Ridge which is seeded #1 in 3-AAA. BTW he is 6'-3". Second should probably be Curt Phillips, 6'-3" forward who plays JV at Sullivan South (I believe they lost one game). He is by far the best JV player in Tri-Cities and is the only player I've seen stand up to Dowdell (at the Middle School East Tenn. tournament in Pigeon Forge last year) where Phillip's team (Colonial Heights) eventually won.

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
