The Hardest Region and Substate in the State.

Im loving the AA poll this week. It seems to be getting better to me. Being that Haywood is up to #3 at 22-3 I really like it. Haywood plays in one of the hardest regions in the state in AA. We have Union City in the same region and they are #2 in the state. The loser of that region championship game could have to go to Memphis to play Raleigh Egypt for a substate game. They are #1 in the state. Can any other region and substate say they have to face this type of competition just to get to Murfreesboro. I think not. Also, the winner of the region championship game could be rewarded with a game against Mitchell who is #7 and has a 20-3 record. They have Thaddeus Young who people say has NBA skills. NO CAKE WALK HUH!!! Raleigh Egypt, Union City, Haywood and Mitchell have a combined record of 88-9. They are ranked #1, #2, #3, and #7. Bolivar, Liberty, and Lexington who are ranked 6, 8, 10 are 66-13 but everyone on here always complains that Lexington plays a cupcake schedule. I think regions 7 and 8AA is one of the toughest in the state. You have to get through some of the best teams AND Memphis just to get to the 'Boro.

Yall definitely have the tougher sectional games but i think our region is just a little tougher from top to bottom. after Haywood and UC theres Fayette-Ware and then it falls off. Bolivar, Liberty, Lexington, Humboldt, and maybe even SS will all be tough games. The winner of our region basically gets a free pass to state this year though, unless they just play horrible. It must be great to win region and get to host Mitchell lol. man thats gotta suck.

So in a way you agree with me? To get to Murfreesboro out of our matchups is tougher than Bolivar's route?

We are all in West Tennessee and that's where it is at in AA hoops in the state....Mitchell or Raleigh Egypt could be the opponent for the host team in the substate game...Yea that does suck....

But as Ric Flair says.."To be the man...You gotta beat the man..WHOOOOO!!!!!

yea region 7 would have the toughest test to get to the boro but once u are there i think the winner of the winner region 8/ loser region 7 match up would play the winner of the winner region 6/loser region 5 match up so it would be one of liberty lexington or bolivar so it gets no easier i think the state tournament for Class AA will be probably the most entertaining of all the tounament games

yea i agree that its tougher to get to state for yall but i think we have a tougher region. like i said, the winner of our region SHOULD easily make to state but win or lose UC and Haywood are gonna have state tournament caliber matchups in substate.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
