Im not for sure but I think that it is 4 yrs in a row that they have won the district, but i think it will come to an end this year. Sycamore is going to have good team this year and Creek Wood is goin to have a good team. They will have to work hard, but i think that one of them two teams will dethrone Montgomery Central this year

Since your asking for updates, Creek Wood has made another one to their already great field. They removed the chain link backstop, and added a concrete wall and net from one dugout to the other, really looks great. Creek Wood is coming off a great summer, where they won the Middle Tennessee Baseball League, and attended the NABF World Series. I dont believe the team is satisfied with that, and looks to be a threat in 10AA.

I believe that this district will have a lot of good games. i do believe that harpeth is very under rated. they have plenty of pitching as well as a very talented sophmore class. they have two stand-out pitchers in ross collins and cole haynes. ross can lull you to sleep with his change up and great accuracy while haynes is throwing upper eighties heat. these two played on a very good summer team, nashville bobcats, and went to miami where they were both heavily recruited by local colleges. i think that coach frasier has made a great move by moving haynes to the out field. he has been replaced at ss by his younger cousin chase birdwell. this kid can really play some ball. with haynes collins and lampley in the out field they will have plenty of speed and three very strong bats. this team i think will deffinatley surprise many people with their hard work and talent. coach brad frasier will have anothe successful year at harpeth.

I think you are right tiger63. If i remember correctly the summer before this last the Creek Wood team won 4 summer games and then this summer they won 21, but the summer doesn't mean anything. The Creek Wood team is goin to have to come out in regular season and prove that they can win games. First scrimmage 1 day away. We will see how they look after the first week or real practice.

About the whole summer league thing. I believe that a lot of these coachs are hurting their teams by making their players play for them in the summer. these are 14-18 year old boys we are talking about. there is only so much they can take of one another. i seem to like giving the boys a choice in the matter. i know for instance that harpeth has not had all their players playing on one summer league team since they started playing in that league four years ago. harpeth has four kids that have started for teams that have won a world series in the last three years. all are sophmores. two seniors that played in two world series last year for probably the best team in nashville and they both started for this team. i just think that sometimes coaches are thinking more about themselves and how they are going to look in the next varsity season than making their players better and thus having a better team. what is yalls take on it?

ELA,

How's are things looking for your baseball team? Last year they played well at times. They even defeated Harpeth at Harpeth. Will you have an improved team to pull off upsets this year?

It's way too early for me to say! Once basketball season is over and I have a couple of weeks to watch the whole team play, I'll know more. Right now, we're just trying to get to know one another and I have to find out what they can do under pressure. Like football, my style of baseball is very different from what some practice. We'll see how it goes down the road.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
