I doubt they'll get 25 against Harriman, but the Tigers could derail the Big Blue Express over the next couple of days.

Rockwood is a fundmentally sound team that always peaks at tournament time. If they play three games it will be interesting to see the pitching match-ups because Harriman can go with Eble, Hampton and Cummings while Rockwood could throw Chandler, Breazeale, Payne or Duncan again just to name a few. Neither team will run out of pitching before the end of the tournament. And with the tournament ending Thursday then both will have everybody available to pitch on Monday.

I dont know who Harriman will throw tommorrow but if they win they just may run out of pitching.

Tomorrow they will be able to pitch

Hampton 3 inn

Eble 7 inn

Cummings 5 inn

They have a total of one inning leeway for two games. Considering that if one is pulled mid inning it counts an inn for both thats cutting awful close.

The advantage of winning is you get a game off between the semi and the final and that will leave Rockwood's pitching situation in much better shape than Harriman's.

Since Payne threw all 7 innings Rockwood will have 10 innings available from Chandler, Gilmore, Duncan, Breazele and 3 from Payne available in potentialy two games tomorrow.

I really didn't think that Harriman would pitch Eble and Cummings both against Coalfield, but Coalfield was in the game until the bottom of the fifth and Harriman couldn't take any chances. That definitely gives Rockwood an advantage coming into tomorrow.

What I've been most impressed with is Rockwood's hitting. All nine spots can hit the ball and hit it hard. Earlier in the year I felt Harriman had the better offense, but I give that edge to Rockwood right now.

I also doubt that Harriman would use Eble tomorrow. Considering how he is coming off and injury. Harriman may have to win a slugfest in a game if they are to win the title. However, Harriman is capable of doing just that.

This is why I love tournament baseball. So much strategy and what-ifs and things like that.

Rockwood Scored 25 again, with Gilmore throwing a no hitter.

Yes that is right if you are keeping track that is 50 runs in 2 days, one hit allowed, and no runner has made it to 2nd against the Tigers.

Wow, they must be playing some really quality opponents!

    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
    • They struggled to field a team last year. I don’t see them being much better?
    • sx good two know thay didun't waint that entarr citty two see yeller/red......
    • Couldn’t agree more.. Tate is a special kinda player , but fortunately for us we get a best of 3 series. I think our pitching is better than last year when we made the trip to west tn. Should be a fun 2 or 3 games.
