Harpeth over Stewart County

Harpeth survived and advanced to the semifinals with a hard fought victory over the Rebels. Give Stewart County coach BRIAN Bramlett credit as he had a good game plan and his boys ready to play. They were just overmatched from a talent standpoint. Coach Bramlett will have this Stewart County team in contention next year as they return several good ball players. Look for them to make some noise next season.

Even though their record didn't show it, I thought Stewart Co. was very competitive this season, and with a few bounces their way, they could have won two or three more district games. Coach Bramlett did a great job with the team.

Well tomorrow night will be the big game with Harpeth vs. Cheatham. Harpeth has beaten Cheatham 2 times this season and seem to have Cheatham's number. But it's hard to beat a team 3 times in one season and it's a whole new ball game in the post season. Should be a good one. I'll with Cheatham by 6 in this one. Good luck to all.

Scanooni, I am a bit off topic from the thread title but did Cheatham really shoot 55 free throws last night?? Incredible!! Did Montgomery Central shoot any??

i think cheatham shot 52. ANd hit 42. Central shot plenty of free throws. Both teams were in the double bonus with several minutes to play in the 4th. I also look for stewart to have a fair season next yr. COach bramlett does a great job. Good Luck wed. cheatham.

according to the box score in our local paper, Cheatham Co. was 42 of 52 from the charity stripe.

Thx 1400WJMZ. The Tennessean said Cheatham "converted 42 of 55" in their game summary. That is a lot of circles to count in the scorebook. The Tennessean did not mention MC. Foul shooting is a major part of Cheatham's game strategy. They set the all time state record for free throw percentage by a team last year. Anytime CC can get the refs to call it close or trade fouls with an opponent, they will gain an advantage.

Yeah Cheatham is definitely a great FT shooting team. It's always a plus in a game to make more free throws than the other team attempts.
