What is going on at Springfield? They're looking for boys and girls basketball coaches. This guy was just there for one season. What is going on over there?
That girls program hasn't been good since the 90s. The last time I can remember them being good was when they had Tora Darden and Brandi Leavell in the late 90s (of course, Chrissie Herring was unbelievable there in the 80s, as was Sheena Bowling shortly thereafter). I believe that Shelli Dove, a really good point guard, played for them. Yes, they won 17 games last season and 16 the year before that, but they were below .500 in district play last season.
And they're being vague about the reasons why that the girls coach, Rodney Davis, isn't returning after one season. It's a public school. I'm not implying that the administration should have to go into every detail, but they probably should specify as to why that he's not returning after one season.

Springfield girls basketball and coach Rodney Davis have parted ways after one season.
Springfield High School advertised the opening for a new girls basketball coach in a Facebook post Monday.
“Springfield High School is transitioning leadership for (its) head girls basketball coach,” Athletic Director Jeff Haines said in a statement to The Connection. “A search for the next head coach is currently underway.”
Haines declined to comment on whether Davis was fired or resigned.
Davis led the Yellow Jackets to an 18-13 record and a 4-6 mark in District 9-3A in his lone season at the helm.
Springfield had its winningest season since at least 2007 under Davis. The Yellow Jackets won 16 games under former coach Tara Koran the season before Davis’ arrival.
Attempts to immediately reach Davis for comment were unsuccessful.
Springfield is currently in the process of hiring boys and girls basketball coaches. Former boys basketball coach Anthony Griggs resigned to accept the same position at LaVergne on April 6.
LaVergne hired Nick Porter in place of Griggs on June 24.
