East then everyone else in Triple A. Cordova going to be good too but not as good as last year. Bartlett, no deals. Southwind has a chance to get back to state if they can stay off the same side as East when regionals hit. Fayette should be in the mix because of DJ Jackson and Ripley with Famous Jones. Mitchell isn't near as talented as previous years but coaching will have them there and BT will be good. I heard they big but if they guards not better than Mitchell guards, they gonna lose to them.

East is too big for everyone man. Especially for AAA teams that want to run, adding Dude really makes it even harder to beat them bc they have girth down low now. Southwind is talented with Boyd Marshall and Freeman but they aren't big enough nor deep enough to beat East maybe if they had another big like Demarcus Mitchell they could be a favorite or a close runner up. Cordova is pretty small also outside of Brown and I was really hoping Jeffries would make his way back to Cordova and make things interesting but he didn't. Brentwood Academy was much smaller than East and beat them but their execution is second to no team in the state. Wouldve been nice to see them play CBHS especially after the close call summer matchup between the two. And lets not forget that the two kids that Penny inherited from Todd Day's departure of Hamilton are good enough to be starters at most of the contender AAA schools.

West A: BTW and Humboldt

West AA: Dyersburg and Haywood

Can you explain why you picked Haywood and Dyersburg? I'm not sold on Haywood going to state, they have some real good guards but outside of those 3 guards what else do they have? I can see why you chose Dyersburg well organized team with experience and I think if they made it to state they would win it. But they do have to go through that tough district of 14-AA

The two kids that played from Hamilton this summer are not playing at East. Trell went back to  Hamilton and Kevon isn't playing at East. Southwind not to little, they have a little size with CJ who is about 6'5, Khaliff is 6'7 and KJ Jones is 6'6. They not as small as one would think but they just not as talented or as deep as East might be. East will probably be better than last year and that doesn't bode well for everyone else in Triple in the city but with that said, a few teams can give them some run for a half or so until the talent kicks in. Cordova really gonna miss Dupree, the focus was Tyler but Dupree might have been the best big man in the M last year. He was very valuable and they gonna miss him.

Didnt know Southwind has Khaliff now, he'll help alot. He's a big body and has developed alot over the years I saw him over the summer running the floor extremely well and knocking down the 10-15 footer on the Addidas circuit which was something that he didn't do back in his central days. Having him at the 5 and being able to put Marshall and Boyd at the 3 and 4 respectively will help out ALOT. Lets not forget Edwards can coach.

Dupree was the best big in the M last year period i agree. They don't make it out of region last year without him. Good to know those two kids aren't playing for East also, they are still a year older and better with adding Dude. I never doubt Southwind last year was kind of a down year for them but a big game from freeman and marshall along with solid rebounding and they could beat anyone. The season's only a month away, cant wait to watch some good ball.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
