Schools still looking for games

Waverly also asked South Pittsburg to meet in the middle, play on a Saturday night, and split the gate for the next two years. They declined the offer also. The game could have realistically been played at one of the high schools in Murfreesboro.

SP offered a home and home series but got turned down or maybe still in the works not sure but why would you want to travel both years and play on a Saturday. You would be losing a home gate and concessions on top of busing both years just doesn't make since to me... I would like to see them work it out should be a good game for both teams.

McKenzie High School is a 2a school that reported us...Why?? Camden HS sent them out to do the dirty work. Fairview is right along there with them. Why you think they petitioned to get out the district.

Someone needs to get their facts straight.

PC was not reported. McKenzie made a proposal to the TSSAA last summer to add basically a multiplier to schools that allow co-op students. The proposal did not pass after regional meetings. Pretty sure Fairview and Camden wanted to stay in their old district because of financial reasons. Moving to a metro district is a death wish for a school's athletic budget due to lack of attendance by metro schools. Athletic budgets are based primarily on how successful football's gate and concession are during the regular season. But you keep telling yourself lies.

Some of those MNPS games are hilarious to watch on a film. You'll see a lot of bleachers behind the sideline depending on the camera angle and hardly any spectators in the stands. I went to the Cheatham County/Stratford game last year in the 1st Round. Stratford was loaded, had won a region title, and probably the projected favorite to come out of the western side of the bracket. They maybe had 25 people in the stands (not including the band members) and that's being generous.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
