  1. the only thing they had in their favor was size up front....and even there West pretty much doninated... defense was in the backfield almost every play......offense was sluggish at 1st...but the run game far exceeded what anyone though.....guess our o-line isnt as weak as people thought........ over all West just had way more speed and athletic ability by far..not to mention just more diciplined play all around.... good job for the rebles..good luck this week w/ Catholic...should be a good one
  2. yes this is all true ..but at the same time it will give a better outlook on the future of these 2 teams.....
  3. I guess thats why they have a jamboree isnt it because it just so happens that West will play Fulton in the jamboree.....hmmmmmm??? perhaps they should just put all the players on the track and have a foot race....lol
  4. ooooo boy ..yessir.....lets see..... On one hand you have Farragut...big boys..5A..perennial playoff contender... always producing D1 talent..tought and fast..... Then you have West...just recently put on the map..especially last year with the defeat of both Central and Powell...both convincing wins....as well as a playoff route of Cleveland......one word can sum this team up.....SPEED! Farragut's recent track record of 4A teams..especially 3-4A teams is definately subpar... over the past 4 years i believe they are (correct me if im wrong someone) like 2-4... the most recent that comes to memory is the powell farragut of 1 year ago were powell routed the admirals... As i have said before West has SPEED and a abundance of it at that..few if any teams in Knox county ..much less east tennessee would be able to keep up w/ them.....defense will definately be a factor in this game and going against what most people think...this will be a low scoring heavy weight bout....the run game will have to hold up for any team to score points...Farragut has Andre a quick and at time punishing back who can beat you with speed..and with power if need be.... West has a group of running backs who can come at you from all different aspects.... The keys for Farragut will be not to let West get to the outside... Keys for West will be their front seven and how physical they want to be... and how quick..if at all they can wear down Andre.... My prediction West 20 Farrgut 14 West gets the edge baesd on the record of 3-4A w/ Farragut..and the speed West has in getting to the ball...as well as depth @ skill positions and D-line On a side note West did defeat Farragut in the passing leauge @ UT..(and no BS about them not having all of their players...i dont care how good you are..2 or 3 ppl cannot make up a 4 TD difference..)...good luck to both teams on a good game and a good season..
  5. rain....... the west Jeff Co. scrimmage was almost rained out as well due to thunder storms...but it was played and might i add that jeff didnt score a TD at all..barely got past the 50 yrd line..while west scored at least 4 TD's...and speed definately got the best of Jeff Co....
  6. as said earlier the scrimage between 5:30 and ^ pm...freshmans will play on the practice field and varsity will be on the game field
  7. o ok ty sry for the misunderstanding
  8. wat happened to the west farragut and the west powell games???
  9. they will have to....its not that the juniors are incapable they may not have the drive to compete....althought some do the vast majority look like they dread being there @ times..... Although the senior class is astounding they cannot be expected to do everything........
  10. true dat....but even so west jv did loose last year to the kees last year..does this translate into a win on the varsity gridiron..i doubt it....but even so it is not smart to under estimate a opponent no matter how down they have been...
  11. yes it does unless he gets a hardship
  12. -I presonally dont believe that west's o-line will be as bad as everybody thinks....time will tell scrimmage 2morrow vs. Jeff Co.
  13. all i kno bout jeff county is this..they scrimage knoxwest nxt week...
  14. why isnt there something like this for linemen....big bois need some luv too ya kno ..becaus w/o them there wouldnt be any route runnong or time for the qb to throw........
  15. yes... west has a lot of contributing sophs. this year..but do not think that just because they are sophs. that they cant play this will only give more depth to a west team already overflowing eith tanlent...wether they capitolize on this talent remains to be seen....
  16. For all You Phat bois out there the UA clickclacks are suprisingly good..it the skill cleats that are bad.... West's entire line got black w/ blue trim so we will be matching ..and from what i have heard is that the linemen hold up really good so time will tell but from wat i can tell it is a good deal
  17. Ayers is infact @ West High and began attending workout this week.... He will probably be @ tackle on the o-line which is a badly needed spot..@ least for this year...even before he came West was pretty set @ LB with Hurston, Coley and Johnson holding down the inside... all of which had started or seen significant playing time the year before... But the depth @ line was a problem with all 3 potential tackles playing DE and 2 of them potentially starting there..This adds much needed depth @ the line in general..He is however injured but coaches expect him to be back by the time camp and season rolls around........
  18. lol the bearden west is already gaining momentum great mathup
  19. That west farragut looks like a good one...lol
  20. I see someone knows wagner..very well....lol wagner is a great athlete..and he is @ the wide out spot.... hands are extremely soft....in the passing leauge he at times over shadowed Easterly... but both will be huge threats this year and give all teams fits. Like u said if he wants to.... but it seems he really wants it...... he loves the spotlight but as with any player he has to choose wether he wants to do wat it takes to get it....time will tell, but as of now the future is loking bright for the falcon turned rebel......
  21. Fulton and West should be a good one to with Wagner from fulton on the West side of the ball this year ..@ the combine back in spring i did notice a little talking back and forth....its a shame that its only one quarter........It is officially football season tho...cant wat for 2 a days..in the heat and humidity.....and camp.. yay...lol gonna be a great season buckle up and get ya popcorn ready !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. yeah i think powell will be down a bit this year......w/ no standout players D1 or otherwise...powell will struggle to be above some of the cellar dwellers..but good luck
  23. better b glad u dont play knox west this year /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> .....lol..j/k good luck w/ ur season.....kill catholic we scrimmage them 1st of august....
  24. Thinking that west is a pushover is a big mistake my friend..I kno that west in the past hasnt been a above par team..but looking over the past 2 years I think you may wanna look into your stats....Farragut is a great team ..always has had a good squad..but believe me when i say there are few teams in 4 or 5A in Knox or surrounding counties that can compete with west on speed. For the past 2 years we have been in the top 10 teams in the state in 4A in total yardage on offense...as for defense last year outside of Marvul NO team had more than 200 yeards of total offense or scored more than 28 points...Including the two playoff gamesagainst Clevland and Red Bank.....Not bashing Or smack talkin im just saying dont think that west are a bunch of slacking athletes....who dont kno how to play football..but all questions will be answered Aug. 24 @ 7:31 P.M. ...And as for that ACT comment ..um is farragut in the top 12,000 schools in the nation??? this is a survey based on Math,Science,English,AND ACT test score combine......cough gough just a thought..if u dont believe me look it up...!! As Always Go WEST!!! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  25. hey not sayin their the best but Knox west has got some good linemen commin up this year........ Mitchell Smith....6' 4" 260..a beast in the weight room but a little on the goofy side..has yet to channel his strength onto the field Dwayne Gable......6'4" 275....a litte weak up top...(275 bench max??) /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> ..but squat and dead lift is where the power lies...Squat 450...best dead lift on team..400 Allen Whaley....6'1" a soild starter for 3 years...strongest squat,bench(515,315) on the team Tee Thomas....6'0"......soild starter returning from last year..quickest 40 time on the line...4.63 Glenn Pullman.....6'1".... hardest worker on the ofensive line...best Power clean on team...275 K.J. Bean.....6'1" a jr with talent speed..and exprirence on the d-line..wat else could u ask for Will Coley........6'2" a deceptive TE/LB..speed killz....strength does to..he has both........ Charlie Kolinskey.......6'1"..a "Super Sophmore" only one to register playing time and stats as a freshman.... "Stever" Fox.....5'10"...technique...technique......technique...not to mention want to........(something that isnt coachable) ok sure im puttin these guys out there i do think that most of these guys may be undersized or weaker than most........but they want it just as bad as anybody in the state...time will tell..there are a few who have legit chances of going D1...but this season is all that matters as of now
