  1. Watched Bo Wallace this summer in a 7 on 7. He is the real deal. Look for him to emerge as an elite prospect in Tennessee. Sometimes it is hard to judge a QBs skills because of the system, level of competion, and surrounding cast. But this kid can just make throws that most can't. He is 6 3" and I was told he just turned 15 this past summer. Looks to have all of the tools to be really special.
  2. LC is just not very athletic. They need to run the ball, control the clock, and play good defense to beat the teams from Rutherford County. They can do anything they want against teams in their region because it is the worst region in the state in 4 and 5A. Everybody keeps living in the past in Lincoln County. With the exception of 03 they have been just average the past 8- 10 years. The community expects a state title every year. But the coaches work for peanuts and the athletes just are not there like they use to be. The people in Lincoln County are still spoiled from the great teams and athletes from the 80s and 90s. I'm sure they have some great kids, but a good ole boy that can't run and make plays will get you beat.
  3. It is not living up to the hype. It is much weaker than anticipated.
  4. Giles by 10. Tough defense and young but talented offense. QB Bo Wallace is the real deal. Look him up on Rivals year 2010. Not bad for a 15 year old.
  5. So the recruiting is done at the middle school level. That is the way all of the private schools do it. You really don't want a kid to come into a program in his junior or senior season. Talent is easy to spot in the 7th and 8th grades.
  6. Ole Miss has offered and others are soon to follow. He was also named to the all-combine team at the NIKE combine in Atlanta.
  7. Riverdale's collapse is going to be a slow decline, much like Rome. I think Siegle may pick up the torch for Rutherford Co. And who is little Thomas going to sign with today?
  8. Quality person and coach. Moore Co. got a really good young coach. He is one of the best up and coming young coaches in the state. Congrats!
  9. Lipscomb still the team to beat. They will have a much improved Marshall Co. team on their heals. Cheatham Co. should also be a contender. From top to bottom a very tough region with quality players and coaches.
  10. Ben Jackson was a good player. Just undersized and not very athletic for DIAA. What about Jay Moore. I think he played a lot at Middle.
  11. Tullahoma does not have a big city close by to pull kids from like Maryville does. If there is a good player somewhere in Blount Co. they will probably transfer to Maryville or Alcoa. You can transfer after the 8th grade without moving. I think the Tullahoma coaching staff is really good. I believe they do a good job with what they have. Clolumbia should be a lot better. But Lawrenceburg just does not have the athletes to compete for titles. However, they could be better.
  12. Hightower is a legit 6'3 245. I see him as a real D1 prospect as a DE. However, he did not play that well in 06 and has yet to live up to his full potential. He has all of the tools to be great. You just don't see many kids with his size, speed, and athletic ability. I don't know about his grades. Seems like a good kid. O'Neal is about 5'9 180. He is a really good athlete that has not grown much in recent years. Great high school player and could play D1AA or D2 as an athlete.
  13. Hightower and O'Neal from Marshall Co.
  14. Why not? He and his staff have done a good job. With the exception of maybe one year out of 15, Coffee Co. football was a complete joke that could not compete with anyone. Now they are a respectable program that competes every week. The type of athletes they have there has not changed and probably never will. They have average players for a 5A team. Give the man some credit. I know you don't want to go back to the old days when everyone on the opposing team knew they would get playing time agianst CC.
  15. It is a good job no doubt! But give the coaches a little time. However, they have a chance to suprise a lot of people next year.
  16. What is going on with TJ Christian. Was he a candidate? Will he be leaving? He is a good young coach with a lot of enthusiam. Did anyone talk to Chris White? He lives in Lynchburg and coaches at Riverdale. Another young coach with enthusiam.
  17. If he can get the offensive coordinator he needs they will be very hard to beat.
  18. Is watching film considered to be practice?
  19. I heard that there was a lot of crime that needed fightin in them there hills.
  20. He could hit Shelbyville, Tullahoma, Franklin Co. and Lincoln Co. really hard. It is no more than a 20 minute drive to Lynchburg from any of these locations. Moore Co. is actually in the middle of a good football area. If he is smart he will recruit some of the best local assistant coaches first. Then getting their players would be easy. Tullahoma is really close and has some really good coaches. But is there enough money left to get one or two?
  21. Yes in 2 3 and 4A the Knoxville and Blount Co. area dominate. However, the best schools are in 5A. The entire East Tn area gets beat every year by Rutherford Co. alone. And 5A is the best and it should be.
  22. They have the talent to be just above average (6-4). As to what great athletes walk the halls I have no clue. But it is probably not much. Size is a good thing and can be used to a real advantage. However, speed is the most important thing. An old coach told me one time that a bunch of big kids will get you two things. Beat and fired. Everyone sees a bunch of big kids and think you should kill everyone. When people like Daily just make them look pitiful. If coach Flatt takes over a lot of new talent will apear out of sky. Sure Marco can be stopped, but it can't be done with big slow kids. Big slow LBs will get you beat every time. But MtP has had its fun and their time is coming soon. Marco is the last of a long line of gifted players. Unless they get in some new talent from Columbia they will drop off after he leaves. But they want be bad, Smith is a good coach.
  23. Well since they play in the worst 5A region ever assembled, I am going to go out on a limb and say they have a chance to win the region. Then they will lose in the 1st round to the 4th seed from Rutherford Co. It really is the worst region in 5A. And with the lose of Cumberland Co. I think it will be possible to make the playoffs with 1 win.
