  1. Varsity or JV must be put on eligibility forms. If you show up on a form then you must sit unless you have a moving resulting in a zone change.
  2. redandblack63, From an earlier post, "he didn't want to do them that day because of a baseball game". Why not let the kid skip it or do a lighter weight and make it up on a day when he don't play? It didn't say "I'm not doing squats today'.
  3. sneakypete, since you are an old alum and you keep up with the program, is there any chance Coach J will let Coop back on the team? I just don't see why Coach J couldn't let Coop skip weights on the day his was pitching and make it up later.
  4. Prayers to Bill Wilson and his family. May you have a speedy recovery.
  5. There have been players doing 3 sports for years and they never griped. Why didn't Coach Julian just let him skip weights on days of a game?
  6. I called a friend in Clarksville and he told me he had HEARD that coachchris was going to coach at Northeast this year. He hadn't heard any of the reasons why he left Northwest.
  7. HTV, Aren't Powell and Halls still the only two schools that you CAN NOT TRANSFER to?
  8. Maybe I missed it but is Gildner going to play college ball any where?
  9. 1 - Maryville 2 - Central 3 - West 4 - Halls (Coop or no Coop) 5 - Clinton 6 - Powell (if they can't be great with D-1's out the wazoo, how can they be good without any D-1's?) 7 - South Doyle (will give Powell a run) 8 - (loose some students and go back to aaa)
  10. Whatever happened to Spencer Gulmire? Is he still playing at Austin Pay? What about his brother that played QB for the Ridge? Did he sign with any school for college?
  11. There is a difference in being a softie and being stupid. He would be stupid not to let Coop back no matter what he did.
  12. I heard that Coop and Coach got into an argument with Coach telling him he was through. Knowing Coach Julian, he will prolly let him back on the team because of his importance to the success of this team.
  13. BBC, One last time - SUMMER BASEBALL IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE 50% RULE. riverdaleman, Don't understand the comment about 6th period. My understanding of the rule is you can have an athletic period BUT you can't do anything sports specific when your sport is not in season. EXAMPLE - you can't practice hitting during 6th period in Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec.
  14. I was just wondering, there is no need to get upset and defensive. It was just a simple question.
  15. Why couldn't the Head Coach post the jobs?
  16. CoachT, I bet you had some good turf burns from the old days. Didn't you and the new APSU coach play together? I have always favored grass, but with this new back filled turf I like it more and more.
  17. You can transfer into Maryville city schools from anywhere. Their QB and TE transferred in from other schools, then they have had many kids come in from Heritage, Willie Blount, Alcoa, etc. They do a good job and they just plug in their talent where they need to. They have run the same offense for years, but last year added a lot more TE package to their original offense. Defense is simple 4-3, some 50 and that is it.
  18. clkshighfan, I don't need to check it again, I LIVE RIGHT HERE AND KNOW IT FOR A FACT.
  19. Can't kids throw on their own time in June? Why can't a QB tell his receivers to be at the school field at 10 am and they spend an hour throwing and catching? Nuttin' in the rules that says you can't do it. Most kids are too lazy to do it on there own. You can work on your pasing game in July instead of June and work right into the fall practice.
  20. Clkshighfan, I'm just surfin' & read your comments. Knoxville does not middle school football. We have football for middle school students that is run thru the community parks associations. These programs are not associated with the school system either thru support or funding. But they do sometimes get to use the high school fields.
  21. Bama, I didn't read about July 15, I saw football could start after the summer dead period ends.
  22. This isn't the only clinic in Middle Tennessee. Vandy, MTSU and TTU all have clinics this spring.
  23. summer dead period stays exactly the same. After your last football game, a 3 week dead period has been installed. During the month of June you can only lift and condition. After the summer dead period you can do sport specific team drills, passing league, etc.
  24. wardawg, You could that the decrease in scrimmage opportunities hurts a football team in its early season of building s cohesive team. But I would look at the fact that some teams have 3 way scrimmages 2-3 times per week for 3 weeks. Then you take the teams that attend camp for a week and they have scrimmages 2-3 times a day for 3-5 days. Not all teams have the ability to go to camp and not all teams have the ability to scrimmage 8-10 times in the spring because of numbers. Hey dawg, when you remember what the original proposal was, what has happened to football ain't half bad.
