  1. Jeez guys, you are making my head spin with all of this. Let me ask some questions so I understand what ya'll are talking about. First, I have followed Halls for years and never knew Daryl SMith worked for Coach Sheppard. So where did this run in come from and what was it about? Next, what former north Knox County coach are you talking about with the son in trouble with drugs?
  2. Where is the love for the Red Devils? I just saw the state rankings and no where to be found were the Halls Red Devils? Why? Do the sports writers at the News-Sentinel just sit on there butts and not promote us?
  3. Why don't more schools hire personal trainers to work out their players since they are trained professionals in the business?
  4. littlemn88, Boy I thought I was bad for the things I said, but you have stated happenings that I had completely forgotten aobut. HTV, His NFL career ended many, many years ago. He has, I presume lived in Knoxville ever since. What I think littlemn88 was talking about wasnumerous changes in job sites. Even you will admit he has changed a lot of jobs in the last 10 years and when you think about it, he moved outoftown when his son left town to play football. If Lee had gone to Va.Tech would dad have moved to Va.? Based on past happenings, one would presume he would. Best of luck to Lee in college football - we all know he has the talent, now just use common sense when things comes up and you should be OK.
  5. HTV, I totally understand what you r saying and i agree. But what is the motivation for all of the moving around? Now I'm not up to snuff with everything but transferring to Central, moving to Powell, the UT blunder, getting back on his feet at Marshall, Dad's coaching travels (Powell, Central, POwell) and now moving the family to WVa. If I knew the reasons for all of this I just might feel silly, but right now I sit in utter amazement of what this family has endured. I don't know how I could feel silly... totally shocked and amazed might be better terms.
  6. Mo West by a couple of TD's Alcoa in a upset Fulton in a close 'un
  7. I apologize for offending anyone with my remark. I guess I just lost it for a minute. On the other hand one must really wonder about all of the moving around of this family. Now i"m not in the know about all of this, but it seems like the Dad can't let the son grow and mature without being right beside him. At some point in time you have to let them go and spread their wings and fly, don't ya?
  8. HTV, Thank you so much for that information. I just never realized Vandy and C-N cost so much to attend. I have enjoyed watching Cameron play for the past four years and he is a very good player. I don't hink he is a D-1 prospect. I don't think a true D-1 player would be shooting 31% from 3 point range and 61% from the line. But I do wish him all of the luck in the world at C-N.
  9. reddevilfever, I totally forgot about him playing football as a freshman. And you are right on the money about him quitting to concentrate on basketball. I also heard his AAU coach told him if he wante d to earn a D-1 scholarship he should quit football. Don't know if any of this is /was true but it sounds like something Benson would say. I never knew C-N cost 150,000 to go to school for 4 years. That is almost 40,000 per year and that is more than any school in this state including Vandy.
  10. I have always wondered how formations got there names? Do people just sit down and make up names for formations and playS?
  11. If this isn't a dysfunctional family, someone please give the correct discription of one.
  12. haveityourway, What are you speaking of when you say mirror? I for one have no clue what you are talking about. Now the split back veer option and I formation, I understand but the other stuff you are talking about is Geek to me.
  13. May give some a leg up, but you just named two QBs who didn't cut the mustard at D-1 Schools and transferred DOWN to 1-AA, where they should have gone to begin with. Glad that you gave up McCrays name 'cause I couldn't remember. don't think he ever played much at Eastern either did he? Hope Thompson proves to be better than that.
  14. What they have done stinks. This is a trial run at the Z plan they wanted to put in years ago.
  15. Doesn't this make two Maryville QBs that left big programs because they didn't get playing time? I can't for the life of me remember who the other one was, but I think Thompson is the 2nd. Why leave USC and go to Martin, surely Chatt or someone closer would have given the kid a chance.
  16. What awards were they handing out? Wait a minute, did you say the banquet was yesterday? That was a Sunday. I have never heard of having a football banquet on a Sunday. Are you sure it wasn't Saturday? Still would like to know who the award winners were.
  17. HTV, That basically is what I said isn't it?
  18. True, but 2 winter sports vs. 3-4 spring sports. Good move by GQ. Hey is GQ interested in the MBA job? Heard that he might be high on their list and MBA would certainly pay more than BA Close to $150 (g's)
  19. Before you jump to conclusions, didn't Rankin interview for MBA when Rutledge was hired? That doesn't mean he is leaving Alcoa and coming to MBA. But I'm sure someone will start that talk. My question is I remember someone being offered the job or supposedly offered the job, but the head master said he wasn't offered. You know what I'm getting at, he said , they said, you said, bull crap that always comes along. Who was that person because I can't for the life of me remember who iit was? Would they be interested again this time or not?
  20. Allows kids to play baseball, soccer, track & field. Great thought by GQ.
  21. Could Scott Smith also be known as "rememberthetitans"? Sure sounds like someone tooting his own horn!
  22. cobracoach, I have heard for years that every summer the T$$AA go out of state for a "retreat". But to answer your question with factual information, that I can't do. If what you ask is true, I say we fire the whole bunch and start over.
  23. Bet Fort Knox, Rankin doesn't go to Science Hill. Stay at Alcoa 10 years...that might be a stretch. If he stayed at Alcoa 10 years, that would put him about 65(?) when he retired. Don't think he will teach/coach/administrate that long! But I would bet Fort Knox, that Rankin will NOT move his family again, farther east.
  24. Leo, If what you say is true (gone for 180 days in Knox Co), can he transfer anywhere in the state. Someone told me of a rule that if you got zero tolerenced (180 days)out of a school, then you could not play for any school in Tennessee unless you were a sophomore. Is this true?
