  1. Question: How long have they been doing this?
  2. I think the Govs will do just fine. Think they're one of the best in East Tennessee to be quite honest.
  3. Well, Halls just looks better than any other team in the County this year. I agree with you on the fact that it was hard for me to put Halls above teams with a proven track record, but Halls looks like a really good team this year. I actually looked at the Top 1000 teams nationally on unapproved website, and A-E was around the 500-600 mark, so I do think they're looking good, and would put them top 7 in my next poll in about a week. Ahh, now about my Cherokees at 14. I've actually went through conditioning, spring practice, and one, count em one shorts practice with them, and hope to play with the Kees this year. But as an objectionable fan, I think they aren't looking as good as I would like to see. Our line looks pretty good, but with only 30-40 players at a 4A school, depth could be an issue for us, especially at the skill positions. And #90 is Hakeem Worthen, our big d-lineman. He's a quality player, and a lurker on these message boards, meaning he'll prolly read this, and then rib me for it later on. Well, like I said, this is only a 1st draft of it, and later versions will contain revisions. Somone told me the Hardin Valley was fielding a varsity team this year, any truth to this?
  4. 1. Halls 2. Fulton 3. Catholic 4. Bearden 5. Powell 6. Farragut 7. Webb 8. Central 9. Austin-East 10. West 11. Karns 12. Grace Christian 13. CAK 14. South-Doyle 15. Carter 16. Gibbs 17. Hardin Valley This is my first draft of this. I'll write up another to put on my blog in a week or two.
  5. They'd do the same thing in 5A that they're doing in 4A. Besides, they'll be moving up next year anyways.
  6. rollred, Knoxville Central High School was already errected, and was already playing football when Knoxville High won the 1930 national title. They were also bitter rivals. As for the lineage, I think Fulton, and Austin-East would be the schools that superceeded them. Actually, MB Banks, then the coach at Tennessee, left the Vols head coaching job to go coach at Central High School. Another UT coach, Harvey Robinson, who coached the Vols in 1953-1954, coached at Central in the 30's and 40's. The 1939 Central team was one of the best teams in Tennessee history, going 10-0 That 1939 team was BB: Dan Boring FB: Howard Painter TB: R.E. Selby E: Chan Caldwell E: Ford Owen
  7. Why the heck do we ALWAYS scrimmage Farragut? I swear, it seems like for the past few years, all we've scrimmaged is the Admirals
  8. Maryville-Miami Northwestern. Two Nike sponsored schools. Make it happen, and I will crap myself, then have a seizure just thinking about how good of a game that would be.
  9. 1. Maryville 2. Halls ================Above this line, there is no debate. Below is debatable 3. Knox Central 4. South-Doyle
  10. There's Maryville, and there's everyone else So Maryville would be my vote Although MBA could maybe give Maryville a run for thier money
  11. Another private school hater at it's very finest.
  12. STOP YELLING. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID, JUST STOP YELLING! Now that I have that out of my system, let's get to the Kees season. I really do think that this team could be a suprize team in 3-4A this year. 6-7 wins would not be out of the question for this team. I know Mitchell graduated, and he was no doubt one of the rallying points for this team last year, but I think Conley will have a good grasp of this offense this year. That o-line is lookin pretty nasty too. Actually, both sides of the line are looking pretty good. The only thing is that depth may be somewhat of an issue, but I don't see it being too much of one. 3(well 4) "BIG" names to watch Hakeem Worthen Chase Phillips OJ Moore Roger Williamson
  13. Heck, we may not win that game, but we'll make Maryville never wanna play the Kees again.
  14. Really. You actually belive this vitrol that you speak?
  15. Who does this guy think he is? Listen, I've never been the biggest supporter of Hutch, anyone that's posted here back to last season knows that. But, this guy doesn't even know what the heck he's talking about. We have a good team this year. I think 6-7 wins would be what we would be shooting for this season. We beat Central last year, and I think we're making progress overall. This reigon is really tough, and I think that's part/all of the reason that the Kees can't put together a good season. I will admit that Hutch doesn't make the brightest decisions all the time, but all coaches can be accused of that at times. Overall, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if we are going to do anything, wait until we see this years team. It will be really good, I promise you that.
  16. (footnote: have no problem with D-B, just the fans are somewhat kooky
  17. I'd like to see South-Young brought back. Not for any special sports reasons, just for the fact that S-Y would be less than a mile from my house, while South-Doyle is about 8-12 miles away from my house.
  18. Your signature must be commended. Celtic fan I take it?
  19. Hoover's only losses were to Coleraine(OH), a nationally recognized program, and Vestavia. They're not doing too bad That's one heck of a schedule. Starting off with the 2007 ESPN National Champs in St. X, that will be just plain murderous. It would put butts in the seats that's for sure. However, I'd rather see the Rebs play South Panola or Miami Northwestern. Those two games would make me wet myself with exictement.
  20. I see 2, maybe 3 wins for them if they get lucky.
  21. In the words of the immortal Keith Jackson, this one is gonna be a real barn-burner. Maryville - 28 Halls - 26 Until Maryville gets beat, there's no person that's sane that should pick against this team.
  22. It seems like everytime Maryville loses a good player, there always seems to be some soph or Junior waiting in the wings to take over, and this player is usually at the same level, or even above the previous player. As for the game..................... Maryville - 35 Alcoa - 31
