TSSAA needs to wake up and see that CPA is may be the only reason people want a split. Privates don't want them and publics have to suffer the consequences of the TSSAA turning their head to the unethical behavior at best of this glorified AAU team.

This was one of the best posts have I have seen about these specialized camps. Knew there was a lot of bad things happening with these camps but this does explain why kids are jumping ship all the time in Rutherford and Williamson . Basically a legal way to recruit. Thanks for the insight.

Nothing is going to happen with split anytime soon. TSSAA does not want it to happen, that is why they keep giving excuses about it being a complicated situation that takes much time. Just split them up and let private schools decide how they want to split themselves up. Give CPA a gold ball in every sport and they will be happy.

Are you kidding? That is still recruiting which is illegal! Only a matter of time before someone turns them in.

They aren't the only ones doing this through AAU.

Are you encouraging everyone to go out and recruit better players? That is the only way you catch up with them. The only reason they lost last year was because of the two stars fouling out.

You have a great point. Shelbyville was the leader in getting players through AAU. It is definitely a recruiting issue in both private and public schools. I think you have a great idea but the coaches would do like Insell and sit two rows behind the bench with someone else acting as the "head coach". People are going to find ways to get around the rules. Not sure it can ever be stopped.

Don't know Coach Brooks but appreciate an inside perspective on CPA. It is suppose to be a Christian school but their reputation is being tainted by the win at all costs attitude.

You make the point quite well. There are plenty of places between Iowa and Tn. So how does CPA just happen to be that spot. He was recruited through AAU. Take off your blinders. I don't disagree with you that everyone has a right to go where they want but go private if you are going to bring in out of state kids.

This seems to be another great opportunity to recruit the best players in area. I am sure they would never use this in any way other than to teach basketball skills. Someone explain why you would just up and move to Nashville to run another individual camp?

Don't understand why CPA recruits want to play against weaker AA competition instead of AAA. Time for a split of public/private. What happened to meeting in December to discuss this? Very unfair to District they play in and all those in tournament. A very good Creekwood team loses by 18. Play where you belong in the private division.

Wow!!! That is a lot of freshmen but at that level there is no way they can compete.

They made a big mistake wanting to play freshmen. They will get killed in football and will only get worse because no one wants to play on team that can't compete.

It is one thing to recruit locally but when they are coming from Iowa and now possibly Arizona, even the TSSAA is going to notice it. The TSSAA seems to be making better decisions than ever in the last month. Now they may be ready to end this blatant recruiting by CPA.

All of this out of state recruiting is getting ready to blow up in their face.

Sounds like a lot of politics. Unless coach did something totally immoral or unethical, you don't fire a guy in the middle of the year in HS.

These other sports are not year around. Why don't we move baseball back to April and May where it belongs or start in August when it is dry and warm.
