  1. How about the phrase "head over heels" When is your head not over your heels lol? I can think of very few situations when your head isn't above or OVER your heals.
  2. I play at pokerstars.com Registration is free...and you can take part in free tournaments throughout the day...if you finish in the top 9 then you get a seat in another tournament that is for money....so technically you can win money without investing a dime...I believe the winner of the second tournament gets 100 dollars. Also they give away free seats to the world series of poker (10,000 to enter)...usually the entry fee is 15 dollars (the cheaper the more people that enter obviously). Pokerstars also gives away hundreds of thousands of dollars a week...Many users have won 100K or more a weekend. Dutch Boyd has a new site coming out called rakefree.com where the house doesn't take nearly as much as most online casinos...
  3. Every time I see Rick Clausen...I think he's shorter than myself (6'1)...Wes might know better than myself...but I highly doubt he is 6'3 or anywhere close to that. I'd say I've seen him about 15-20 times and his athletic ability pales in comparison to Meachum, Swain, Stallworth, and the rest of the Vols that play on the intramural basketball team...Now, it would be very difficult to be up to their atheletic ability (I for sure am not)...but Clausen is a horrible basketball player and an average athlete and I just dont believe hes 6'3. Not exactly a good combination for basketball...or football. Do you think he is 6'3 Wes? P.S. No one tell him where I live...hes stronger and bigger than me...and I dont want a brand new face.
  4. Does anyone else play this very popular card game? I usually try and play in free tournaments online every after noon and every morning at 2. My fraternity brother Chris Moneymaker is the 2003 world series of poker champion. Perhaps if we have enough members we can all join a site together and muscle some people out...j/k. P.S. (This is the card game they show on ESPN, and is the game they play in the movie Rounders)
  5. Problem with the movie will be the fact that everyone will believe that the movie is lying. No one will believe the fact that the team spent 52,000 to play teams during one year. Also the racial tones will be either over emphasized or not present. Also showing the players getting drunk every night has become the norm for most Hollywood movies, I'm not saying these characteristics should be in the movie...but they are part of what makes the book so shocking, and what sets it apart from a regular sports book in my opinion.
  6. oh I didn't learn it in high school...my parents asked me to do it. I went to Harding Academy and currently attend VOL U. I just got my real estate liscense and I should graduate with degrees in accounting and finance in 4 years total.
  7. It's insane that he decided to retire...Jamal Lewis still faces federal drug charges...That means the NFL could be without the last two single season rushers.
  8. Alright, I'll look in to that I read ugly americans in my speed reading class...good book.
  9. Also the addition allows for the Cowboys to start using Julius Jones for Kickoff returns perhaps...he is the all time leading return man for the Irish. I think it is definitely a win/ win situation for all parties...because the Titans could not and should not have paid him the money he was asking for...The Titans are going to be hit with serious cap issues next season I believe.
  10. OK, I am one of the biggest Dallas fans there is. We needed Eddie, he might not be productive...but Parcells is able to churn out great productivity out of his runningbacks regardless of their age. His 1.5 million dollar contract is the same as the titans, BUT the cowboys offer incentives that could make the contract near 4 million dollars which is something the Titans did not do. That is one reason he decided to sign with the Cowboys, also the Cowboys were a playoff team and do like to rely on the run, especially when their returning quarterback threw 21 interceptions last year. Also, George believes that if he really has a great season, he can make even more money the year after because he will be a free agent again. George is a better runningback than Antowain Smith...look at the fact that no one had signed Smith (Including the Cowboys) but there was interest in George. Other power backs that are still on the open market are Dorsey Levens, and James Stewart who missed all of last year. If I had to choose between George and Smith, I'd choose Smith...I think out of the three, Brown is the most promising and I think the Titans will be fine especially with Holcombe and his versatility...Might be tough to get out of the AFC with the Broncos, Chiefs, Colts, Dolphins, Patriots, all returning or adding veterans. P.S. I think the reason he went to Dallas was cus he wanted to play for a team that actually has won a Superbowl...or Two, or Three, within the last 15 years.
  11. I personally believe the ROTC set up is really good. What do you want to do ELA. Do you want everyone to have the right to go to college for free? I had full scholarships plus money to many universities here in the south, yet I choose to go to UT. I got a partial scholarship there...I'm not asking for a free ride. Many of these kids also get loans at 3% or so. I'm not trying to ramble ELA, but I personally don't think we should allow everyone to go to school for free... Example- Tell me why everyone should be entitled to private school vouchers? P.S. His movie is interesting...yet many of the things he says are just lies. 1-He has no idea if Bush did or did not read reports about hijacking on Sept 5th. 2-The FBI or CIA did interview the Bin Laden family for three days after the terrorist hijacking...why do you think they didn't just leave the country on the 12th? True, they never subpoenaed them, but they did question them. I can give more if anyone is interested, but I don't see what good it will do. As I might have said earlier...I like how he rambles about how rich the Bush's are, yet Kerry would be the richest president at over 1 billion!
  12. Many interesting yet disturbing aspects in the book. 1-The cheerleaders were limited to spending 100 dollars on signs for their players(this was after years of spending hundreds of dollars to appease whichever football player they were chosen to help). 2-Players freely got drunk after and before games, usually with their parents consent. 3-The racial connotations in this book, involving some of the minority players was shocking. Even their own coaches shared the views by many of the small-minded townspeople.
  13. I recently read the book "Friday Night Lights" It follows a texas high school football team through the 1988 season. It is a disturbing look into American society and their opinions of sports, race, and economics. The team spends 70,000 to fly across the state of Tx...20K just on a meaningless non district game against my mothers old high school Marshall (I believe George Foreman is from there). They just finished making the movie starring Billy Bob Thorton. I am sure some of you have read the book and I just wanted to hear ya'lls comments? I also read Rich Dad, Poor Dad...and a couple of poker books, as well as The Millionaire Next Door...(Being a speed reader pays off)
  14. My friends and I are off to Jackson today to eat at Casey Jones Choo-Choo. Perhaps we will see some coachT alumns.
  15. Back about 3 or 4 years ago I went to a Briarcrest versus ECS game. There was over 7000 people for the two best teams in Division 2-AA...I believe that year both of them beat CBHS and MUS...BCS had players that would later play for Memphis, Arkansas Tech, Notre Dame, Northwest Mississippi, and also had one of the top 3 fullbacks in the state according to many publications (never played college). Pretty amazing amount of people when you consider it was regular season, and the schools combined at the time for less than 1000 students.
  16. I think UT has other fine receivers like Meachum that can come in and play...I wouldn't say Banks is the entire receiving corps. I would like to see some improved play at the TE position.
  17. I was kinda let down by the game The Same 'Ole Quotes...Plus it's a lot harder this year!
  18. I'm going to St. Louis on the 20th. Stop in Sikeston, MO and eat at Lamberts, Home of the Throwed Rolls (World famous restaurant...www.throwedrolls.com) then going to see INCUBUS in concert and then going to see the Cards crush the Brew Crew then go back to Lamberts the next day.
  19. Your a plus member, PM me and I'll give you my contact information and I'll put my money where my mouth is.
  20. If you want to say they are still in contention for a state title...thats fine. But they aren't. I'm not bias, I don't care if they win lose or draw...but I will give anyone on this site 10 to 1 odds that they don't make it to the semi finals of the state tournament. Private Message me if you want to take me up on those odds.
  21. Michael Oher is a high D1 prospect. However, I don't recall seeing any of the other names on major recruiting websites. Lots of kids receive letters of inquiry from schools. This is not the same as active recruitment. I cannot recall any Tennessee school in recent memory sending 15 kids to D1 schools. BA had 6 from the 2003 class and that was extraordinary. I have a very hard time believing that Briarcrest or any school in Tennessee has this many athletes being actively recruited colleges in general (much less D1 schools). Also, as 705 mentioned above, how could Briarcrest be 6 and 6 in 2003 with 15 D1 prospects? Either you're misinformed or Briarcrest underachieved in a massive way. Jek- Two years ago Whitehaven High School had 15 seniors sign football scholarships. This year Melrose sent six guys to D1 schools like UT (elix wilson) South Carolina, Miami, Ole Miss... I believe more are going to other colleges just not D1. I'd say Melrose has about 11 who signed to play college football.
  22. Bush claims God told him to go to war. If that is true, then I don't think any one should say anything else about lying...
  23. Millionaires? you must not have gotten the latest scoop? Kerry was reported at 500 million, and now is being reported at being worth over 1 billion. If elected he would be the richest president in history by a large margin. In Fahrenheit 9/11 Moore examines Bush's ties to the oil fields...are you going to tell me Kerry won't have ties to some pretty crooked fellas with over 1 billion?
  24. Maybe he's doing it to see if he can become a good NBA coach it's not always about the money, and I say that because of people like Coach K.
  25. Thats interesting about the Washington State comment. I know you didn't make the comment Gomab, only repeated it. I remember when the kid from Bolton Fred Peete? decided to transfer from Memphis to Washington State with his former coach. He was the star of stars up there. Definitely a first team all state player which is amazing because in Memphis, TN he was probably only a Honorable Mention selection within the city itself! I don't think they have the athletes up there that we have in the city, much less the state of TN.
