  1. Not sure I can say that I agree with that list. Some head scratchers for sure leaving Greenville off is as shocking as putting Grainger on. Fulton has a lot of question marks but I'm sure they will be competitive. Catholic, Greeneville, Sullivan South, Elizabethton all I'm sure will be capable of deep playoff runs, Fulton too if there question marks get answered. The cover isn't bare! Don't know much about Middle and West TN.
  2. Something about "York", don't know much, it does rhyme with "fork" and you could go ahead and stick it in them b/c come Friday there season is done. I'd say Alcoa wins by 50+ pretty easy. I feel bad for these losing record 8 seeds who barely got in playoffs they are awarded with playing a power. Too many classes in Tennessee which be much more fun if TN had only three classes.
  3. Not sure what your saying MLReb is false but what I meant was Fulton WANTED too play Alcoa this year but THEY chose not to renew. That my friend is NOT false... Fulton is a 4A public school having a really good season at no point in time should they ever be able to beat Ensworth. It's not apples and apples.
  4. Catholic and Fulton always have good 8th Grade teams, this year per standings looks like Halls and I think Farragut were in the Knox County final four. I don't think Central 8th Grade team was any good. But I could be wrong... In Knox County it usually varies by age group on who rules.
  5. Webb can't walk thru the league in the bigger division that's why they don't play in it. What fun would it be for Webb to play Brentwood Academy, etc when they can play "Little Sister of the Poor Christian Academy" that has 49 total students... At least Webb plays some good non conference games b/c the HC should be ashamed of playing in the division he plays in. To quote an assistant college football coach who commented on a Webb player highlight tape "wasn't sure if I was watching his youth league highlights or what, b/c hard to believe the opponent was an HS team"...
  6. No worries on Catholic bringing over speed. Not a very athletic team. Alcoa wins by a lot. Catholic isn't a bad team just not got anything for Alcoa.
  7. Might want to check your sources on "who dropped who" schedule wise with BOTH of those mentioned teams. Both of those mentioned teams are solid this year but one is not quiet what they were last year, Fulton on other hand is FAR better than they were last year... Last year I would say Maryville would win by a bunch this year well we will have to agree to disagree. It won't happen so no need to get in a big debate. I know its hard for you to respect anyone out of BC or if anyone outside of BC gets mentioned as "good" but on occasion teams outside BC do field good teams.
  8. I don't know so much about that the "bunch" comment, one of those teams would have their hands FULL. Now most years I would agree with this post ALOT, this year not so much... They lead the state in both offense (60 ppg) and defense (3 ppg). I don't follow stats much but I doubt this is done every year. Before one says it I know stats don't win games.
  9. I don't think it is Fulton fans saying all this we will beat this team or that, the few fans that I do know are die hards and VERY humble. Fulton has a really good team this year, could they beat the recruiting machine of Ensworth I doubt it and they shouldn't be able too. One has a small inner city zone and the other has a recruiting territory bigger than most 1AA colleges so its not apples and apples IMO. When you have players from various counties playing teams with players from various streets its not a really fair playing field I don't believe... And yes Maryville, Alcoa, Greeneville all would have had good success playing Fulton schedule, they can't help that teams on there schedule aren't playing well. They (Fulton) wanted to play one of those mentioned teams but the other side didn't have same desire.
  10. I agree East TN 4A is weak outside Greenville and Fulton, your right on. What you didn't mention was East TN 6A (this year) is weak too outside Maryville.
  11. Didn't see scrimmage so can't comment on what happened there, scrimmages can be so mis-leading coaches approach them differently. From the two games I've seen of Fulton's the corners are BEST I've seen in our area. #21 and #7 are VERY good cover guys and I don't think the other team completed a single pass against those two players. I know there is other areas to throw too but just commenting on what I've seen. AC looked good last Friday better get the D fixed, hard to rely on simply out scoring everyone CAK is only team I've ever seen do that successfully. That was a good game. I've seen both AC and Fulton play hard to predict a game that won't happen but common opponents were Powell and Central I believe. That would be only thing to go off of. Both teams should play a lot of football this season.
  12. No disrespect but no worries about Catholic going 10-0. They've had a good season thus far but the schedule was definitely set to where a lot of success was going to happen early. They have yet to face AC, Webb and Alcoa can't see them winning all those, actually i see them coming up short in ALL those three. Alcoa and Webb especially. I say 8-2 best case but 7-3 most likely for Irish.
  13. Strange things can always happen but I think AC is better team, not by landslide but better. Catholic will make it competitive but AC is just better team and will win by 14-17 in a good ball game. This will be best team Catholic has played up until this point.
  14. They must be making a point to return to glory days (Catholic). Hard to win without players so can't fault them. Fulton has had a solid pipeline (thru youth program) for years is that drying up and moving west ? Is that what one of previous poster was hinting at.....
  15. 18 players that's not a lot. I didn't know Fulton had that few Frosh out for the team...
  16. From what I know and can tell Fulton should be good in '14 but nothing like '13, they wont be near as deep. Offense will be the biggest difference, will have some athletes just not as explosive. Defense will be good again but probably not quite as stingy. If I'm not mistaken their entire OL are seniors. That will hurt the offense the most.
  17. Comparing to Oregon is pretty stout. I thought Cat only scored 14 in reg against a typically not so good CAK defense (going off Powell and Webb putting up big #'s). I'm sure Cat wins this one...
  18. I would think they would do fine against the big back, he was big last year too and that ended up going Fulton's way. Fulton wins by 50 or more and no slight to GP I'm sure they are solid but Fulton is just that much better. If GP can get some first downs "IF" they will milk clock and if that's the case then maybe Fulton wins by 40.
  19. I heard the CAK vs Roberstville Game (middle school) was a good one, OT. Heard both sides had good talent so future looks bright I hear. How has Robertsville Middle doing ??
  20. They should be fine, SD is as good as anybody left on their schedule save Maryville. Not saying they go 9-1 but don't think they'll lose the next 6. On any given night they can beat what's left except MHS... LC (should win that this year, they're not very good at all), can play with and be no shock if they beat any of these: Bearden, Farragut, West, Catholic.... Although I predict in that four game stretch they go 1-3 with a really close loss or two in there.
  21. Was at the LC game, Farragut is pretty good this year. Should be interesting. I do think Fulton will be too much!
  22. Maryville wins by 14 at a minimum actually I'd say talent wise West is close to what Maryville has played the previous two weeks. Would not be shocked to see a 42-10 type score.
  23. That is great to see. The 7 on 7 for middle school has been popular in East Tennessee for several years now. There are multiple tournaments, camps to attend in Knoxville area for the Middle Schools. I know Clinton Middle hosted one for years and now I think it's the FCA who host a big one. A friend of mine coaches at CAK (middle school) and they are playing in a tournament in July at King's Academy.
  24. It was DEFINITELY 110% Coach Rankin why they're not playing. Fulton tried MANY times to renew the contract. He's mad at the Fulton AD (not the football coach) B/c of Loudon moving Districts and the Fulton AD being on some committee w/ TSSAA. It's a shame but over and done with now, kind of reminds of the "I'm going to take my ball and go home kid we all grew up with"... Would have been good game to see the next two years, Fulton will be as good as they've been in years each of the next two seasons (strong Junior and Senior class). Now Fulton will travel MANY miles to play a solid team and Alcoa will host a pee wee team (no disrespect mean just stating a fact).... Best of luck to both teams, both are favorites IMO to win there respective classes.
  25. Yes Alcoa was up last year and I know it looked like Fulton was up last year (state champs) but in reality they were pretty YOUNG, there Soph and Juniors battled Alcoa Seniors for 3 quarters and then Alcoa pulled away. This year those teams are reversed Alcoa is somewhat young and Fulton has a slew of Juniors and Seniors (5 seniors already w/ D1 or D1-AA offers), with bigger schools checking in more and more, on paper those who know both rosters know Fulton 2013 would be the favorite (doesn't mean a win though) but we won't get to see that game unfortunately. The other guy was right last time they were both up in same year was 2006. Fulton was young in 2012. Good luck to both teams this year I'd say both are favorites in their respective classification to win state title.
