Blue21, there is no diference in the secondary play of a 4-4 vs a 3-5. Both equall 8, so that leaves three deep correct? Since I am a spread o guy, I think the hardest thing to prepare for is a 3-3 stack. Marcus Walls does a great job a Gallatin with it vs the spread. In my years of running the spread I have seen 2 different looks in Middle Tn, 4-2 and 3-3 stack. I have never seen pure man, and only rarely seen cover two. Mostly I see man-free and cover 3.

Because the TSSAA works on two year "rotations". The regions are set every four years now and you have to come in during either the first or third year. [Edited by throw46 on 2-19-03 2:52P]

I heard Boots was going to be Watson's D-coordinator. They're going to run the wide tackle 6 on defense and single wing on offense. I just hope he stays away from that wing-t crap. I also heard that Burt Talley is his o-line coach, Kelley Holcomb his qb coach, Rod Williams his LB coach, Tucker Petre his manager and George Camp will be the trainer. What about Bunio and Wildcat??? What do you think he'll do with them??

I don't think there is one "sure" way to stopping the wingt. You have to prepare for their bread and butter and then pick your poison. We like to base out of the 5-3 and slant to motion every time. But being an offensive guy my answer to stopping the wing-t is to score early an often to make them play catch-up. Now I realize that isn't always posible, but "a good offense is the best defense". When your athletes are superior is does not matter what you do. But if you don't match up well size and speed wise I think you have to gamble for sure. The problem with that is the lanes that it creates. I have a lot of respect for wing-t guys because of their patience because it just gets to you. We had a team drive 98 yards and take about 8 minutes off the clock (and we had a great plan) and all I could do was smoke cigs in the press box waiting to get the ball back. (I smoked two packs on that drive.) Look at me I'm getting ticked off just thinking about having to play you wing-t guys!!!! LOL I agree with coach763 I need instant gratification for sure. Marcus Walls is the D-coor. at Gallatin. He does an outstanding job. He probably should have been the d-line coach a MTSU, but Mac hired someone else. Marcus would do a great job.

Bobby does want to be an administrator, but I think he wants to Coach too. Maybe the new Seper will allow him to do both. As for Coach U and Ferguson, I don't see either one going anywhere with out the other. They do an outstanding job and both are GREAT men.
