They had the opportunity to quit tonight but didn’t. Brinkley finished with over 240 yards rushing. Equal number of Touchdowns by both teams. A FG and completed 2 point conversion were the difference on the scoreboard. 32-26 MJ. Great game and atmosphere at The Wave Yard tonight. On to the next one. Dickson County, here we come for our 1st of 3 in a row road games.

Halftime score MJ up 22-7. This game is everything it was advertised as. Completely different offense by Gallatin. I would guess that Brinkley is over 100 yards rushing in the first half.

This rivalry is one of my favorites of all time. The TSSAA made a rule in the 80’s referred to as the Mt. Juliet rule. It came about because only the district winners made the playoffs and MJ would lose to Gallatin and miss the playoffs with arguably the 2nd best team in the state. 2-0 games come to mind when talking about these two teams. One is pretty seasoned and the other is trying to find themselves as they trek along. I expect a great game. I’m definitely going with the over in this one. Hopefully the heat will be out of the way this week. Region game on the line that will set the tone for how this region shakes out.

Those in attendance tonight got their money’s worth. Congratulations to The Green Wave in a hard fought almost 4 hour game. 42-39. Station Camp is going to be a tough out in 4A.

Tonight’s Freshman game went to SC. 45-7. Ouch!

Catching Hville and SC this early in the season is unusual. I’m hoping for better production out of the defense for the Wave this week. I don’t know a thing about SC other than we both have the same record.

The remote, that the officials on the sideline use, batteries died after the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter didn’t start until 9:30 because the two teams didn’t run the ball much. Lots of stopping and going for the clock operator official. Going to have to get more batteries with this offense.

I’m so glad I’m not at this game. The announcer is horrid. Maybe if they called the game as if two teams were playing. I guess that’s just me.

Are y’all going to be road warriors or will the county bring in temporary stands since both side have been condemned? Hendersonville visitors side has as well. I haven’t heard about their home side. I’m still waiting to hear about the home sides of Gallatin and Portland but the County appears about to be hammered. It will still be less expensive than a death/lawsuit.

If this was a one off season, I would have to go with Livingston Academy a few years back. Started the season off 0-5 and finished 10-5 and State Champs.

It’s my understanding this is why the timing is such. To make sure the hire is from current staff. Surprising to some but the rumor was that he was leaving before last season. It was just a matter of time. He was a really good coach and could have done a tremendous job in a different set of circumstances.

Be interesting to see how it does. Hope the best for the kid. He’s going to have to grow up soon or those offers will disappear quicker than they appeared.

If I were Lipscomb Academy, I’m making contact with both Creasy and Crabtree for their opening. Both have the skins on the wall for that job.

This game didn’t go the way I saw it. I thought Oakland would pull away late because of how physical and talented they are. I just didn’t see Beech giving up like this. Still have a running clock 4th quarter to play. WOW!
