  1. That overrated surfer boy is 24-7 as a starter and 9-0 on the road when he starts..2nd place on UT's career passing list with 6,739 yds..He led the SEC with 62.6% completeion rating last yr. while throeing for 2297 yds and 11 tds while playing injuried.. He has a career completion percantage of 63.2 He has won an SEC east title and huge bowl victory over Michigan the first to do so.. He holds a victory in Gainseville under his belt also, not bad for someone that is so overrated....He's a team captain for 3 reasons-RESPECT, LEADERSHIP, and SUCCESS......Get behind him!
  2. First and Foremost I think of Chad Pennington as being the best ever and most repected. I also think of Andy Kelly from Rhea County...Todd Helton from Central and Joey Matthews from Sevier County.. Jermaine Copeland from Harriman, but based on success I dont think that you can argue with Webb's Chad Pennington...
  3. ...Look for the tigers to have a hand in deciding who wins the region, but their shortcoming on offense and on the sidelines keeps them from winning it, but they will make noise in the playoffs, i think that until someone proves that sweetwater is beatable for more than a half they have to be the favorite to win it.. I think that Alcoa is going to a big dissappointment this season in the region, but they are a yr away and harriman well they are going to be down for at least 2 more yrs and wartburg too weak of a sched and too sof up front to win the region a solid fourth place team though and OS will be strong as always but i think that there offense will again dissappoint in the big games...thanks and as always..GO TIGERS!
  4. I think that when it comes time to earn a trip to the state we are going to see Rockwood,USJ,University High, Franklin,CAK,Unaka and maybe Harriman if things fall their way.. I just take my chanes with University and Rockwood, I am not sure if they have the most talent, but the have the best coaches and look prepared.......Besides Rockwood is still feeling the sting of having Gilmore throw a no hitter and not make it to State... I am going to say that Rockwood fans better like Memphis because they are headed for an extended stay..
  5. I am going to say that Rwood starts stron and hold on to be the Burg. I think that Rwood is going to make the Dogs play more halfcourt D then they will want to and I think that will be the differnce in the game.. Rockwood has to have postions that wear on the dogs and look for the lapses in the Wartburg defense and take those shots to win. Smart passes and getting the on the boards should enable the Tigers to advance
  6. I think that Rockwood and Harriman both win and it will set a big Roane County Rivalry for the region title!
  7. I think that the Tigers are going to win and they will be looking at Wartburg with a former TIGER coaching them!! Good Luck Big Green!!
  8. Mad props to the burg coached by a former TIGER!!! Hoping to see a region rematch!!
  9. I hope that the Tigers are focused again and are back in form... I say that the Tigers roll over CAK and on to a Wburg rematch.....another classic in the making!! Mad Props to the Burg coached by a former TIGER!!
  10. I think that the two games are the 2 best matchups that we could have asked for.. I think that Harriman is going to win in the first match up after a half of sluggish play. Then we have Rwood and the 'Dogs ... That game is going to be a wild one I think that Rwood is going to have to make Wartburg play defense in the half court, RWood likes to run, but if they are going to win they are going to have to use the post presence to win.. I think that Rockwood wins 60-56.... Good Luck to all teams in the region!
  11. If Rockwood plays a solid game and avoids the 5 min. slump that the get on occasion when the game is on the line. When the traveled to Oliver Springs the 3rd quarter was a disaster on the offensive end for the Tigers. I think that Coach K will have the Tigers focused and Preston will have the biggest game of his Rockwood Tiger career, but that will not be the deciding factor it will Thomas Davis and the other Tigers ability to handle the defensive pressure that that the Cosby Eagles will throw at them. I am saying that the Tigers pull out the win 62-59. Looking for to a regional rematch.
  12. In the Bible we are told that there will be trial and tribualtion, but we also see that if we stay focused on him and keep walking on then God's plan we be for us to see and enjoy... This is a terrible thing that happened, but we all have to pull together and not forget the people that have lost loved ones, but also we must keep the ones that are left strong and show them that they indeed have people here to talk to and support them... I love you guys and more importantly I am praying for you all... Micah 7:7-9!! He will bring us into the LIGHT!!
  13. Tigers pull the upset... I think that RWood is going to travel to SWater and play the game of their lives and win this ballgame 14-10...
  14. I root for the Rockwood Tigers, but I also have a soft spot in my heart for the Jefferson County Patriots.... Good Luck Guys
  15. This is becoming a classic rivalry and I am going to say in a bit of an upset that Smoky Bears win...27-21...
  16. WBurg will win this game by a score of 34-28.. They are one of the trult dangerous teams in the playoffs...
  17. The playoffs are supposed to be a reward for teams that have earned a trip, but when you have teams with records like these on the playoffs it just makes them look like a joke..We need to find a way to reform the system...
  18. I think that this game has potential to be an upset, but I am going to with the Jackets pulling out the 28-20 win over the Eagles, I hope that I am wrong.. To my boys in the Big O, Go Eagles...2 in a row
  19. After what happened last year with RHS sitting at home instead of being in the playoffs... They will come focused and agressive.. I see Rockwood winning 35-14 .. I think the question is if RHS can put up 40 or more 3 weeks in a row.. Go Tigers!!
  20. The coach has been succesful without him there is no Harriman football. Look at the attitudes of the players and the parents that condone them ripping off their jerseys and spitting on them.. Without attitudes being right no coach will win at Harriman.. Look around the sidelines the coach is not the big problem it is the kids that act like punks and the parents that allow it.. Harriman used to be the East Tennessee power when the people were willing to work for the coach.. [Edited by RwoodTigersIn02 on 10-22-02 10:53A]
  21. OS is done for the year.. I felt that way after the RCHS game and I still feel that way.. As good as there D is there offense is that bad. I think Wartburg wins 21-14.. Being a Rockwood fan I hope that I am wrong.. go cats!
  22. This friday night the second oldest rivalry in the state heats back up with the Harriman Blue Devils traveling to Civitan Field to take on the Rockwood Tigers... This has usually been a competitive game, but not this year has i pick Rockwood to roll over the Blue Devils by a score of 42-6.... What does everyone else think? 18 in a row? is there an upset brewing? [Edited by RwoodTigersIn02 on 10-17-02 7:54A]
  23. Coalfield 6 Midway 14 Wartburg 35 Alcoa 21 Greenback 56 Sunbright 7 Oneida 35 Oakdale 16
  24. Goose as always you are on the spot, just like in the RC News..... I think that Kingaton wins this game, but I am not sold on the jackets really romping, but maybe it is the Rockwood thing kicking in... Jackets 28 Panthers 14
  25. I think that has the potential to be one of the best match ups in the state, but i see that Boyd finds a way to get the big play and win 14-6 ... I like OS, but I think there o needs some tuning before the playoffs...
