  2. here you go, the way it will happen: CPA, DCA, EZELL all win. C'wood wins. Simple, not much debait here.
  3. Speaking of Cascade, WHERE IS IT. I mean, I can look on TSSAA.org and find the address and town name, but I can't find it on a map. How would one get to Cascade from Nashville and how long would it take?
  4. again to try and keep this off the debait page, here are some thoughts. Once the private schools move out and the alignments are readjusted, guess who two new teams to DI A ball are: Tyner and Trousdale. I think Alcoa would also be in A with all the A privates gone. Not debaiting one way or another, just pointing out.

I hate it when people bring in fact to dispute my abnoxious points.

these are the facts of the matter: if you want to play soccer in Chattanooga, go to Baylor, if you want to play football, go to McCallie. Baylor is not a football school. Baylor is to Vandy as McCallie is to Tennessee when it comes to football. Sorry Baylor supporters, but that is just the truth.
  7. am I an idiot? don't answer that. Is the Collinwood site URL listed somewhere on here and I just can't find it?

Baylor?? who cares? Baylor needs to look to Soccer season. I have 5 bucks which says Baylor does not win a playoff game.
  9. well, things are getting a bit warm in here. Let the panfan tell you how things are going to go: first, Collinwood will rip JB up pretty good provided they shut up and play on friday. The RB from JB well, didn't really play against Ezell from what I hear. Ezell being the only good team JB played all year, I would say the same thing happens against Collinwood. Ward and Victory get up early and then JoB has to start throwing. Secondly, last year I spent all week prior to the first playoff game saying how terrible reg 6 was. It turned out that I was wrong. Both 1 and 2 seeds from each region won last year. I see DCA winning their game this year and giving 1, 2, and 3 from Region 5 a victory. JoB, however, has little chance against Collinwood. AS far as Chakra bragging, well, he is not the one doing the bragging, and even if he was the one, at least Ezell has walked the walk. C'wood will have to beat CPA again to gain much deserved respect as a powerhouse.
  10. nope, not like last year. Region 5 Ezell, CPA, and DCA will win. Jo Byrns will be only loss in Reg. 5.
  11. The system now fails to take into account terrible regions vs. good ones. You see, everything has to be pollitically correct. What is best or fair does not matter to the TSSAA. They do what is easiest. It is easy to just say four from each reason go. It would be very difficult to say two go from here, three from here, and four from here. And the nightmare that would come from trying to have a panel choose makes that just out of the question. One suggestion would be to have regions with fewer teams get fewer teams into the state. for example a 10 team region might get 5 teams while a 4 or 5 team region might get two. This would not fit into a nice neat playoff bracket, so you'd have to have some teams get byes in week one of the playoffs. Just a thought, but it is not PC, so it stands no chance. Plus, that would involve a ton of work which i am sure TSSAA would not be willing to do.
  12. www.footballscoop.com says the Union College DC is in the running for this job. This is just a rumor mill web site though. It is pretty interestin though. go to that site and click on "The Scoop" on the left hand side
  13. no, I fogot one week and then just gave up on the rest, b/c I knew I couldn't win. That is why I wanted to start a playoff one.
  14. its to big to be a space station.
  15. OK, let's all give our predictions for champs now that the brackets are set: 1A: Ezell 2A: whoever wins the Tyner/Goodpasture game (I'm going with Tyner) 3A: Trousdale 4A: Maryville 5A: someone other than Riverdale (I'll go Germantown) DII Memphis: who cares DII AA: BGA DII AAA: McCallie must have to many injuries so Darth Vador Academy should take it. 16. There will be no 4 seed upsets over a 1 seed in single A. Boy, that is a tough call
  17. WE NEED TO HAVE A CONTEST FOR EACH LEVEL A - 5A. EACH FILLS OUT A BRACKET EACH MODAY FOR EACH LEVEL. THIS WAY, GUYS LIKE ME WHO FORGOT TO FILL OUT PICKS ONE WEEK AND JUST GAVE UP CAN GET BACK IN

    Coaches Clinic

Where can I find the schedule for the coaches clinic in Murfreesboro the weekend of the state championship game?
  19. phish, I was told to read some of your postings by a friend. You lived up to the billing. You're a just the facts kind of guy who won't listen to hollow comments/arguements from the uneducated or over-emotional. I love your posts. keep up the good work.
  20. You're probably right. A computer would be more fair. However, a computerized ranking system is farther from the field than this is. The best way to solve this which might actually pass, would be to start football one more week earlier in the summer. Then, you take the week after the end of the Regular season off. Any teams tied that did not play head to head, play a "sub-state" game to determine seeding. The problem there would be, of course, an unbreakable three way tie. I don't like the idea of computers at ALL.
  21. I can't argue with that FRADad. 7-2 would be FRA's record if the roles were switched. It is not morally wrong though. It is unfair. Sports is a replica of life. Many things happen that are not fair. Now, it is fairly obvious that TSSAA went out of their way to be unfair in this case. That of course, adds steam. The point is, yes FRA is getting the short end of the stick here. But, had they won either of the big region games on their schedule, this would not be an issue. When you point a finger at someone else, three point back at you (four if your thumb is double jointed). The TSSAA is going to short change as many private schools as possible, there is nothing you can do about it.
  22. You are right, the 5 - A region is the strongest in the state. It is set up to limit private schools in the state playoffs. Those three teams would qualify in any other regions. However, by being playoff caliber, I meant not only good enough to qualify, but also win a game once they got there. None of the three teams you mentioned would likely make games of their shots at other region champs. That is another topic. The fact is only two teams from each region should go. That is another thread though.
  23. Wouldn't it be easier to say that if FRA had beaten DCA or CPA they would have made the playoffs? On the other hand: The thing here is that TSSAA is going to short change private schools as much as possible. The whole reason that region is 10 teams is to limit private schools that get into the playoffs. TSSAA is basically a horrific organiazation. It is governed by a board which has only one interest: money. The game, the schools, the kids are all of no concern to TSSAA. I won't go into reasons on this thread, but would be happy to in another. I don't know how the whole thing got set up, but all Middle Tennessee private schools (except FCS) got put in one region and then Jo Byrns got thrown in and only had to play the traditionally weak schools in the region except CPA (Ezell only started being good last year, so when the schedule was made they were a traditionally weak team). I am sure Ronnie said it was a random draw. Maybe it was. Either way, I hope Clarksville stays out another year, so that they can all play each other on the field. Who knows, JoB may beat up on someone good. Note, JoB has 6 wins this year and the combined win total of those 6 teams is 12. Of course, all FRA's wins have come against sub 500 teams as well. Really the only justified complaint is the fact of the matter that it is not settled on the field. I don't see either team being playoff caliber. actually CoachT, JoB only played 9 games. 1 was given to them b/c they "couldn't find" another game when Clarksville baged it. 24. Am I crazy or are there 5 teams with 2-1 region marks in D2 AAA: ??BA, MBA, McCallie, CBHS, MUS?? Games in week ten for these schools: CBHS vs. MUS Ryan vs. BA MBA vs. McCallie I am by no means brilliant, but since one team has to win and one has to lose (and since we all know Ryan could not beat BA's middle school team), won't there be three 3-1 teams in this region in a three way tie no matter what next week? What are the tie breaks? Best overall record? Ok,if McCallie, and CBHS were to win, that would be a three way tie with them and BA. CAN SOMEONE BREAK THIS DOWN FOR US!!!!
