  2. there are going to be some great games this week. I know Franklin has a great team this year. But Gallatin is also playing very well right now and these are two teams that have played already this season. They played each other in preseason and Gallatin won. I know that was 15 weeks ago and things have changed, Goodluck to both squads. As always, Go Wave
  3. Amen dbdcrazie. Everybody, before you start to rip on someone make sure you understand what the message says. There is nothing against Perry here, but if the thread says Gallatin and head coaches, a Westmoreland grad doesnt fit the criteria. Noone here is being negative, just accurate. 4. I pick Beech as the 5A sleeper. They have been improving all season and have a chance to make some noise in a few weeks. Gallatin vs Beech round II maybe???. Go Wave

    best team ever

Gallatin 92' Every team they faced knew the first play that Gallatin would run and noone could stop them. 15-0. That team was like a machine.
  6. I played for Jerry, Im not sure I would brag about him!! Just my opinion
  7. This will be the best game in the mid state in my opinion. These are two teams who are both talented and well coached. When you say throw out the stats and the records you are right. This is an old fashioned in county grudge match. I dont see alot of points being scored, however, I do see alot of hard hits and great defensive stands occuring. I think the winner is going to be decieded on the mental aspect of the game, who is going to keep their composure and who is going to let their emotion cause a stupid mistake. Go Wave!!! P.S. GWAVE1, thanks for the anwer to my question last week. [Edited by bbv84 on 10-29-02 1:38A]

  9. This a talent rich state players and coaches alike. I can only vote for the coaches I have known and seen. Best Coach that is not active- Calvin Short- Gallatin- 3 State titles, over 300 wins all time. A few state runner ups and a model to his players on and off the field. I did not have the privilige to play for him and the Coach I did play for was not in the same league. However, the present coach at Gallatin brings respect back to the position. Robert Lassiter, help to build programs at White House, Hendersonville, and has rebuilt the Green Wave. Records mean little to me, his character is what puts him apart from the crowd. Treats all players, coaches, and opponents with respect and this is the sign of a top coach. A pat on the back goes out to all coaches across the state that teach players that who you are as a person is more important than your record or your stats.
  10. You spouted off the negative comments all week about the Green Wave. 17-0, I think that speaks for itself.
  11. Got my season tickets, going to be there!! Should be a great game, Go Green Wave. Gallatin 24 Beech 10 That Green Wave defense should be the difference.

    5A Top Ten

I played Dickson County in High School and they are a team I would dread to play in the playoffs, and dread to be the coach of. They are hot/cold. State Champion one night and flop the next week.
  13. Gallatin 10-0 7-0 Beech 8-2 6-1 Hendersonville 6-4 5-2 Hunters Lane ??? But fourth, maybe
  14. That is a fantastic story, A true showing of team spirit and love of a game. I think last year at Gallatin High School, Allen Sawyers showed true team spirit. Captain of the team, very promising senior season ahead, tore his ACL during a scrimmage right before the season. Most players who are out for the year, skip out and do their own thing. Allen never missed a practice, never missed anything to do with the team. Players like this, leading by example inspire teams. Gallatin again this year very competitive. Do they have any true stand out players? No, they have a bunch of kids working together, helping each other, pushing each other to be better. These are the teams you love to see, averaging 300+ yards a game rushing and noone over 500 yards indivually. I know there are many teams out there that have this type of situation I can only speak of the one I know, bravo to all the unselfish players, scout teamers, injured players, and all who just love the game.
  15. Good picks, I feel Riverdale given to much credit. Gallatin allowing 20 points, I have trouble with that. They are allowing only 9.5 per game this season. Defensive coach at Gallatin is outstanding. Other than that great
