I have a feeling both teams will need to score 50 or more to win.

It depends what part of the state you are in. I do think in the Knoxville area the 2 most disliked schools are Maryville and Catholic.

Maryville lost some good players but return a lot of guys also. RB is Maryville's strength. Noah Vaughn and Gage Ladue are studs. Maryville is real good on Dline and Oline. Maryville has 2 starters back at LB. Field Goal kicker is back. Maryville needs receivers and DB to step up. Cannon Johnson is a good corner. Maryville has good athletes at DB and WR. Not much experience.

I know you can't always go by Scrimmages. I heard McCallie outscored Alcoa varsity 4 tds to 2. I saw this from a Chattanooga Sportswriter on Twitter. We all know Alcoa is loaded. This past friday I saw where Oakland outscored McCallie 23-20 in a scrimmage. Looks like Oakland will be great again. I know McCallie is loaded also.

If Oak Ridge has 3 Running Backs better than Noah Vaughn then they should win 5A. I would agree with Oak Ridge being better at receiver and DB.

It will be Oakland or Maryville.

Wade twins were awesome. Even though Summit lost to Oakland last season the Wade twins kept Summit in the game. Oakland has the fastest defense I saw all year and Destin Wade made Oakland look slow on those scrambles. As a UT fan I hate seeing them go to Kentucky.

Summit lost not only the Wade twins but the stud receiver graduated also.

I think getting Scott Cummings was huge for Oak Ridge. West gave Maryville fits at times when Cummings was there.

I remember that Catholic Scrimmage. It wasn't bad like some people said it was. Catholic left their starters in a lot longer. I was there at that scrimmage But was 15-20 minutes late. Tee Hodge,AJ Davis,Mason Shelton,Seth Orren and other key players already had their shoulder pads off. They never played again in that scrimmage. I liked the fact that Carson Jones and Markel Fortenberry showed out in that scrimmage.

I saw Maryville lose a lot of scrimmage games over the years.

Watching some highlights of the scrimmage. It looks like the new receiver is quick as a cat. Noah Vaughn and Gage Ladue make up a great backfield. Oline blocked great. Dline and Linebackers looked good. Secondary needs work.

If I'm not mistaken I thought DB had a lot of kids coming back. They gave Maryville all they wanted in the 1st half in the playoff game last season.

Who looked good for Maryville? Any surprises?

I saw the video. As Keith Jackson used to say he was as quick as a hiccup.

The last 2 seasons there wasn't a team in Tennessee that could beat Oakland. I thought Oakland team in 2020 was one of if not the beat teams Maryville ever played.

If Maryville can get some receivers and DB's to step up this could be a great year. RB has 2 studs in Vaughn and Ladue. Oline and Dline should be outstanding. Hearing great things about Clemmer at QB. Richmond and Cooper are real good LBS. I have a feeling Eli Elkins will be a darn good TE.

Not only did Noah Vaughn commit to Virginia. Cal Grubbs commited to Liberty and Caleb Graham commited to Army West Point. Proud of those 3 guys. Can't wait to see them play this year.

Tennessee has a great coach in Josh Heupel now. What he did last season was amazing. Tennessee lost 40 kids to Transfer Portal. He inherited a mess. I see better days ahead for Tennessee

I know this is a Football board. But! You guys have to be proud of former Blackman Quarterback Drew Beam. He is a great pitcher. He is doing a great job. Go Vols

Maryville outgained Brainerd 550yds to 120yds. The 120 yards came on 2 60 yard passes for touchdowns. Can't remember the kids name but he could fly. That same kid had 2 fumbles bounce perfect in his arms that he ran for touchdowns. He had 4 TDs. Maryville went up and down the field but had 6 turnovers.
