Apparently there were some problems at Southwind that led to the school being placed on lockdown and all extra curricular activities being canceled including homecoming. Saw where 5 people were arrested for fighting. No word of when (or if) they will make this up. Southwind has already had a bye week and Houston's is next week.

2007 Millington team. Lost to Independence on a TD with 45 seconds left in the game 28-27 at Millington. Offense avg 35 pts/gm and had over 5,000 yds on the season. Defense gave up 8.5 pts/gm including 6 shutouts. Most points given up all year prior to this game was 16.

Titans are in Buffalo the next day at noon. Can't leave the BCB around 10ish then go back to Nashville and somehow catch a flight to get to Buffalo. It is what it is.

Roland actually had 209 yds instead of 193 Friday night vs Arlington. Hard to count when you are in a hurry to get out the door to do a radio show. I'll try harder next time....

Everyone has their own opinion of certain coaches. Let's just say I'm not a fan of him. He is the reason that Millington and Brighton quit playing each other until this year. After Millington beat Brighton for the 2nd year in a row back in 2004, he would not allow his team to come over and shake the hands of the Trojan football team. Nothing happened in that game for him to not allow that. It was very poor sportmanship as far as I am concerned. So we hadn't played until now.

Brighton has won a playoff game. In fact they have won 2. Back in 2003, they advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to Covington. They have not won a playoff game since moving up in classification though. They will have their hands full with Southwind.

This award is for who has had the best 2011 football season. Not a career award. Not a "He's going to a major D1 university" so he must be player of the year. None of that. Since I am not sure of where you are, I will fill you in on the Memphis area kids a little. Robinson (although a fantastic player) has battled injuries all year long and simply has not had the type of year to be worthy of a Mr. Football. Through 9 weeks, he has played in 8 games with 1,028 yds rushing & 13 TD. There are 11 other backs that have more yds than him & 13 that have as many or more TD's. To put that in perspective, Shatavious Lowe of Germantown had 1214 yds & 21 TD's in 7 games before going down with a torn ACL. Kimbrow was averaging the most YPC (10.2) and Roland Genesy was second (10.2) Genesy had 21 TD's thru 9 and added 5 more in week 10. Walton has about 150 yds more than Genesy but fewer TD's. Just FYI.

It doesn't look like head to head carries as much weight as I thought it did. I thought Brighton would be 2 and Millington 3 because they beat us head to head but it looks like it will be just the opposite. There has be some kind of reward/advantage over a team if you beat them head to head when it comes to seeding in the same quad.

I just saw that as well. Looks like Millington is 2, Brighton 3 so it will be Millington vs White Station and Brighton vs Southwind

Doug, here is how it works: If Quad 4 is Whitehaven, Brighton, Millington, Dickson Co, Arlington, Southwind, White Station and Germantown, the district winners get seeded first. Whitehaven is 1, Brighton is 2 and Millington is 3 (since Brighton beat Millington h2h). Then the other automatic qualifiers get seeded-Dickson Co is 4, Arlington 5 and Southwind 6. In the latest playoff standings before tonight, that is how they were listed. Then you would have your 2 wild cards, White Station as the 7 and Germantown as the 8. So for the first round in quad 4 you would have: 1)Whitehaven vs (8) Germantown 4)Dickson Co vs (5) Arlington 2)Brighton vs (7) White Station 3)Millington vs (6) Southwind At least that's what I think but I could be wrong

As far as quad 4 goes, if Millington and Brighton both win, Brighton will be the 2 seed and Millington the 3 seed because of Brighton's head to head win over the Trojans earlier this year. If Wooddale wins, they will be #2 in their district and an automatic qualifier and will be the 5 seed.

Roland Genesy Position RB Height 6'0 Weight 215 The Millington Trojan Coaching Staff and Football Booster Club is asking for your consideration in voting for Roland Genesy from Millington Central High School for the 2011 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football AAA Back of the Year. The Trojans were 4-6 last year and missed the playoffs for the 1st time in 8 years. Behind Genesy's leadership both on and off the field, the Trojans are 8-1 this year and play for the district championship vs Arlington this week. Running in a Wing-T offense, Roland has rushed for 1,496 yds on 156 carries, a 9.6 avg with 21 TD. This has come in only 29 quarters through 9 games which is the equivalent of playing in just over 7 games. He has 9 straight 100 yd games this season and going back to last year when he became the starter, 12 of his last 13 games have gone for at least 100. This year Roland has had 39 carries of 10 or more yds and only 2 plays for negative yardage. Roland has fully qualified academically for college as well. Going into today's scrimmage, my biggest worries are experience at QB & depth. Losing sophomore QB Greg Hairston for the season did not help. I think he would pushed Allen Moore for time and possibly could have even started. Depth on the OL & DL is an issue as well. I hope to see a good effort today vs Houston leading up to the season opener on the 26th vs Kirby.
