I do know that Coach Embry is family friends with Coach Crawford at Brentwood so that won't hurt if he is a serious candidate. Coach Crawford's endorsment would go a long way in that county.

I think he is the QB coach at Smyrna. Embry has done wonders with that QB.

The defender stood over the Smyrna QB and got within a foot of his face and taunted him while the Smyrna QB was flat on his back. Yes the flag was justified.

I've been watching this thread for a while and have come to a revelation. The first time these two teams played was way back in Week 1. Although the puppies have gotten better, so have the Bruins. I've watched the Bruins play Oakland and almost beat them, if not for turnovers the Bruins game with Blackman would be much closer, and Smyrna got lucky when the o-coordinator took the ball out of the qb's hand on the 2 point play. Bottom line is that Smyrna thinks the season is over since they won the district. Brentwood has its back in a corner and is ready to fight its way out. Smyrna is overconfident and undisciplined. Brentwood 21 Smyrna 14.

The truth is Dyersburg doesn't get a lot of D1 types. I think you people will be well pleased with James Counce Chapter 2. Looked on the Missouri website and Beasley is not listed on the roster. Did he transfer or quit?

And just who do you want to take over Henry County? Gary Rankin from Alcoa? Thomas McDaniel from Oakland? George Quarles at Maryville? You guys still don't get it - Riverdale and Oakland in the boro and Alcoa and Maryville in East Tennessee are good not just becasue of the coaches but the systems and athletes. Maryville and Alcoa have open enrollment and Riverdale during the Rankin's tenure had people moving their kids from all over the tri county area just to play for that man. Stop being unrealistic and be smart enough to know both Counce and Ward are great head coaches and more importantly great men. Any program would be lucky to have them. Ward would be a better long term solution - and trust me, he will get his rings. (I said it - plural)

I really hope Westview is on the rise back up. They have a good staff and and good support system. I live in Middle Tennessee and have seen some good teams up close. (Alcoa, Maryville, Oakland, Riverdale) Westview (parents and players) needs to understand that although Milan and Camden are great benchmarks to measure success, the championship competition is in East and Middle Tennessee. Milan was supposed to be the real deal last year. That was going to be the year to beat Alcoa. We know how that turned out. Have a great winter in the weight room and work hard this spring. Has Cantrell gotten the "Head Coach in Waiting" title added to his contract yet? Hope Coady is careful in that airplane. Remember, wheels down when landing.

Really!? I think the DC for Smyrna was on that staff that won 2 state titles. One, if memory serves, was the defeat of Independence. One bad year (5-5) doesn't equal a bad coach.

Wow! That Bryson kid looks good. I don't know much about the Wilson boy but if he gets some good coaching I bet he can be a good one. By the way who coaches qb's at Smyrna? I thought his first name was Terry or something like that. As far as grades I would be willing to bet the guys who put that film together would be smart enough to check grades instead of just putting a tape together without a talk with the boys or the guidance department. Great job on the highlight film guys! Keep it up. Those films look a lot better than they have in recent years.

Volunteer. Go to your local high school or middle school and ask the head coach if you can work for free. I do not know your financial situation but this is a great way to show how serious you are about getting a job. You might be doing "go for" work but it is a start.

Camden will do well whatever region they are in due to the coaches. Many teams have lost to Camden just because the have been out schemed. As far as rivalry Camden would most likely benefit from being in a region with the likes of Milan, Westview and USJ because of Ward's connections and travel. If they go across the river then travel becomes an issue and that will drop the gate money for Camden. Although Lewis Co. has a coach that used to play for Camden so that could spark some new rivalries(as if last year's playoff game didn't do that). Camden should stay in the west but Ronnie Carter and the TSSAA will do whatever will fatten the bottom line.

Camden graduated mostly lineman. The line on both sides of the ball will be improved greatly. Watch out for Camden, Ward and his crew will suprise everyone but themselves come playoff time.

Anyone know how Russell Marty is doing for Soddy Daisy? I am from West Tennessee and don't hear much on east teams.

Bobby Sharp is a great coach but the program will go down quick if he keeps hiring people like Matt McConnell. He dosen't know where he slept last night.
