Just read an article concerning recruiting where Coach Pat Dyer discussed the process-especially for smaller schools. My question is, should parents spend the money for a recruiting person/program to get their prospect attention? To us, spending the money is not the issue. Our concern is what kind of (extra) pressure is placed on a 17 year old with a person staking their reputation on getting him signed? Can you get a D1 scholarship without the assistance of a professional? I'd appreciate feedback on this issue.

All this speculation is interesting. Doesn't McMinn usually have their spring practice in Feb? If that's the case, it seems if Coach Hutchins might leave it could really put the Cherokees in a bad situation.

Received my copy of the Prep Scrapbook with the Shoney's All-Midstate team. I was quite impressed! Don't know if there are still copies available, but recommend it highly-especially for parents of the players...a very nice keepsake! Region4fan, what "local" paper had the All-State team (5A) in it? I'd like a copy if I can get one. The only listing I was able to find, was the the one posted on CoachT.

How many "official" visits are allowed?

ELA, it's not just the coaches, ask the wives of coaches and mothers of players! I assure you they go through the "blues" as much as anyone! The whole routine changes at home when football is over. Thankfully there's film that can still be watched and winter work outs help too. Everyone is counting down to spring practice!

I find it hard to believe that the TSSAA asked for everyone's input and preference and then did exactly what they wanted to do instead! I for one, am not happy about this! What do others think?
