There was a post similar to this on the football board. Has anyone noticed that football warmup songs tend to lean to the heavy metal-rock side and bball tends to be hip hop? I guess football is more of a violent sport and bball is more finess for the most part.

Rockwood should have a very good team this year. They should be favored to win the district with all of their returning players. Does anyone know who will be in the starting lineup? I would guess Gallegher, Davis, Pryor, Reed, and Bowman, but I'm sure I am leaving someone out.

Who can I contact to donate items to the people of Morgan County? Also what type of items do they need? Do you know the address of the new Middle school where cards can be sent or should they be sent to the old school?

Tank I hope you are just trying to fire the tigers up because that was the most ridiculuos post I have ever read of yours. You must not watch much hs football outside 1-2a teams because Sweetwater is in no way the best team ever. They are good, but the best team ever, get real. I think it will be a close game. I think Cloudland needs to concentrate on Midway right now. They will more than likely kill them, but I have seen many teams start looking to the finals and come out not ready to play. This will probably not hurt them against Midway, but it could in later rounds, especially rd. 3.

How are the Roane County teams going to look this year? Goose what is your opinion? Will it be a repeat of last year. I know OS is loaded, but Kingston should give them a good game. I think Cupp will make a difference in Kingston's team this year, more so than last. Harriman should have a pretty solid team. Rockwood and Midway will probably be about even this year. Rockwood may have the edge, but Midway still has the Woody girl and Rockwood lost Hinds.

Region 2a will sweep 1A, except I think if Wartburg is fourth, Hampton will beat them.

Greenback does not need to be concerned with how well they match up with Ezell because they will not get past Cloudland. Cloudland and Boyd will play to see who gets to get beat by (what is that private school's name?) Oh yeah! Ezell.

My predictions for Region 1 and 2 are as follows: Region 1 Cloudland, PV, Jellico, North Greene. Region 2 Greenback, Coalfield, Oneida, Midway. Cloudland over Midway; Greenback over North Greene; PV over Oneida; Coalfield over Jellico. Cloudland over PV; Greenback over Coalfield Cloudland over Greenback

Obviously I support Rockwood. I also cheer for Kingston, Midway, O.S. (if I'm in a good mood) and Harriman (if they're playing someone other than the before mentioned teams). College I support the Vols all the way. Pro football- DA BEARS. Baseball- Braves. Answer9- Its unbelievable how some people don't understand that you have to make a living even if it means teaching at a different school than your alma mater or supporting another school because of marriage, family etc. You'd think people would get rid of that attitude once they graduate high school.

Greenback 28 Oneida 0. Yes Oneida beat Midway, but the only way they could score was from a blocked punt from about the ten yard line. I'm sure Oneida is improved, but Midway has become a much worse team without their big fulback who is still leading Roane Co. in rushing after missing 2 games. The only way Oneida will score is in the 4th quarter if its a blowout.

Greenback needs to enjoy their success now and not look forward to playing Cloudland. I can't think of any single a teams that should look forward to playing Cloudland. I don't care who plays the toughtset schedule, Cloudland will beat Greenback and be in the finals again against probably Ezell, whom will beat them once again.

#30 on Rockwood is Megan Turner. She and the Chatman girl are impressive. I was told that Rockwood had 3 starters and gone on a school trip against Oakdale. One of the girls was the high scorer against O.S. I got a chance to see the O.S. game. It should have been for the championship. They are by far the two best teams. It was a great game. Rockwood pulled ahead at the end, but went brain dead in the last 3 min and O.S. managed to catch up. Should be intereting next time they play.

This is a must win game for Midway if they hope to get in the playoffs. I give the edge to Coalfield if Harmon does not play, which I think he will not. Unless Midway gets their passing game down, Coalfield will come out on top. It should be a physical game.

I just heard this morning that Rockwood Middle School won the Hollis Eble Tourn at Oakdale by beating Oliver Springs and Oakdale. Congratulations girls! Does anyone know if the boys played in this also?

WVLT (I believe) did a piece on this series Mon. night on the 11:00 news and said Rockwood led the series by 3 or somewhere close to that. They interviewed Pat Sheets and Maurice Greif, so both of those guys should know.

From what I've heard he is probably out for the rest of the regular season at least. I think they will struggle without him unless they find a passing game.

I'm not sure about player of the year. Probably should be Driggers or McMillan, but these players should be included on the All County Team. Pryor, Thompson, Gallaher (RW); Wade (Kingston); Blank, Whalen, Collett (OS)Harmon, O'Toole, Allen, Woods (Midway)Chrestman, Ledbetter (Harriman) . There are plenty of others that deserve consideration, these are just some names that popped into my head.

Off the subject, but Oakdale has a great bball concession stand. They have soft serve ice cream. The football one isn't bad either, they have grilled hamburgers. Rockwood has cheese sticks, which gives you a little variety.

First off, Plemons will be back in Nov. Kingston would have to in the state finals for him to be gone until Dec. Not gonna happen. Second, you can't go by the results of fall league. A team responds differently to another coach. I'm not saying they will be great, but at least wait until bball season begins before deciding how hard anybody works.

What is the status of Rockwood's Brian Reed. Last I heard was that he had a cracked vertebrae. Is this correct. I hope it is nothing serious, I know at one time they were concerned with paralysis.
