  1. Whether anyone realizes it or not... it is extremely difficult to hear anything being announced when you are a player and i'm sure it was not done intentionally. Also, I'm pretty sure I heard on the 94.1 Morristown station that the PA at the stadium wasn't working until later in the 1st quarter. So maybe this subject should just be dropped.
  2. Last year i would have probably said that Chris Shiverdecker, formerly of Jeff County, now of ALCOA, was the best running back in the state. However, having put it in perspective, Shiverdecker's success last year was due to him getting the ball 30 - 40 times a game at a team who apparently forgot it was legal to throw the ball. He did have huge breaks and he is fast, but he is not as good as say Gulmire. Now that he is in ALCOA, he will receive far far less carries because he will be sharing time with another back and because ALCOA can pass. I just don't believe that shivey is as good as he or anyone else thinks he is and it will show this year.
  3. JC4Life, I don't think that there is anyone who can defend coach U this week.... he screwed up big time!!! WHY WHY WHY would you ever consider going for 2 instead of tying the game with an extra point and taking the game into overtime, when your team has had problems passing all night. I believe the answer is insanity. Jefferson County could have went into OT with the momemtum and won. I'm just so mad about this i can't hardly stand it. There is no excuse for a coach to do that.... this loss should and will rest squarely on the shoulders of coach U. JC 23 Karns 24
  4. I agree with skunk on this one but hey i'm not bias or anything. No but really. Jefferson County has an extrodinary d-line and really an overall defense.
  5. I don't think that JC will be overlooking Cocke Co... especially after a loss. And also because they are not allowed to participate in homecoming so their minds should be on the game. But I agree with JC4Life on this one.. I think that the Pats will shut them out but I don't think that they will be able to freely pass the ball. They have A LOT of work to do in that department and also in blitz protection. We need the splitback veer back... that way when 9 people rush we can just run Right Red 138... yee haw... 1 step drop.. anyways... sorry had a flash back. I think that JC will win fairly easily this game. JC - 42 CC - 3
  6. The fact is that Jefferson County's defense is just that good. DB showed up to play, they just couldn't because our defense shut them down. The reason that they were able to get the running game going in the 4th quarter is simple... Our defense had been on the field the ENTIRE 2nd half. Yes I know that the DB offense was out there, too, but there is a big difference. JC dominated most of the game and the story really is the 2 turnovers that resulted in 14 points for DB. JC will more than likely not lose another game this season. Their defense is just too good, but they do need to figure some things out on offense... Maybe pass a little more in practice. I think it was a great game and hats off to both teams for an outstanding effort.
  7. What Time Zone are you in?.... it's 11:00 P.M. now making it what 20 and 1/2 hours away... And I'm sorry but I please quote where a JC fan was whining about the weather or anything else for that matter. And we Whine?... All you all do is sit on here and complain about us.... isn't that whining... yeah i'm whining right now, and I'm eating cheese with it, too. Everybody just let it go... talk about that wonderful sport i love so much, FOOTBALL, and stop talking about who's whining and just other nonsense... GEES.
  8. I don't think that MoTown West will be any problem at all for the Red Rebels... Coach Quarles is just an awesome coach and he gets the players' respect. Maryville will roll in this one 49 Maryville 12 Morristown West
  9. I'm not gonna make a prediction on this game. I'm just gonna talk about it. This DB is obviously one of the best ever to grace J. Fred. With the Duran and Lamon connection, they are probably the toughest team in the state... (not sure about Riverdale)... anywho... The offense for DB is always always strong and their defensive front seven is like trying to push a block wall. When I was playing DB also like to run a little 2 pop trap... or full back up the middle... Do they still use that play because it seemed to work for them really well? JC's team this year was a question mark but after the first game, they have come out swinging. Their defensive front 7 is probably among the best in the state, but the secondary leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe they can get it together.... I don't know though... I think the days of DB blowing out JC are over though and this should be a very tough game for both sides.
  10. I really wish that they would decide and make a public announcement so all of us JC people can make the trip to J. Fred to cheer for our pats on Thursday if need be.
  11. Because that's when Tennessee plays Florida and that would just be unacceptable. thumb
  12. To be honest with everyone, I have no clue who will win. I'm leaning toward DB just because of the QB/WR duo of ferguson and williams, but who knows? I think the game will be extremely close and there won't be any first half or second half blowouts like the game last year. It should be a great game and I'm looking forward to seeing the score.
  13. I just don't think that Bearden has the capabilities that they usually have. Thus the 50-6 spanking by DB. I think farragut will be able to move the ball freely against what seems to be an inexperienced defense. but as bud previously stated, since these two teams hate each other, it will keep the game fairly close throughout Bearden 3 Farragut 17
  14. Well it's the big game day... yeehaw.. so here is my predictions. Jefferson County will come out and run over West for the first couple of series... (it takes teams a few series to get used to the offense) but then West will be able to somewhat stop the JC offense. However, if Coach U does have some tricks up his sleeve, then it could be an even longer night for the Trojans. JC's defense will pick up the run very nicely but the passing game could be of a concern. I think, though, that the DBs are getting better each week and should be able to cover better this week. Even with West's usually high-powered offense, the Trojans will not be able to break the back of the JC defense and establish the run. The game will be close though... Jefferson County 22 Morristown West 14 having said that... Mr. T and all you other West fans you better call B.A. and the rest of the A-Team and have them bring the van. "i pity the fool"
  15. The idea that Jefferson County is a 'young' team is not by age but the amount of playing time that the players, even seniors, that are starting have had. JC lost it's QB, RBs, 1 WR, half the offensive line, and a heck of a lot of the defense. That is why JC is young.
  16. JC has indeed lost many of their great playmakers over the last 2 seasons and are back down to younger team at skill positions, but from the players I have talked to, the skill has been made up for in hard work during the off season. They have the guys up front who can push people out of the way and a fullback how can lay a hit.. I know... he dislocated my kneecap.. Both QB's have matured but could still use some work. I'm sure the coach will make the right decision, and I believe that my Pats will win this showdown.
  17. Also Shane Acuff, WR for Jefferson County. He's a very good athlete and has good hands... he's already a threat in any game.
  18. DB fans, You all are in for a big surprise with McMinn Co. You all are predicting these huge scores... don't count on it. This will be a tough game fought to the last min... i no longer have a prediction....
  19. Jefferson County's team speed has went through dramatic changes since Coach Meadows arrived... Yes, Jefferson County always use to be really big but no speed... well that has changed. JC's team is not getting smaller, they are losing fat, gaining muscle, and gaining a plethora of speed. The lineman are not stationary.. they pull and manuever all over the place. You, sir, need to know what you are talking about before you speak from now on instead of basing claims on how Jefferson County use to be!
  20. Oak Ridge might be able to slow down the run but by no means will they be able to stop it. Jefferson County's backs are just too talented... and Jefferson County, during the second half of the season, established a very good passing game. People aren't giving Jefferson County a chance but they are in for a surprise b/c JC is among the 5A giants!
  21. I think the Cherokees will need everyone healthy against a very talented DB team.. I know the backups are decent but they just don't have the experience that the starters do.... with the recent developments I change my prediction... DB wins by more... DB - 32 MC -14
  22. Very Well Said from one Crockett to another... support the Avatar!!!
  23. McMinn Co is going to give Dobynns-Bennett fits on friday night. I believe that McMinn Co is a very underrated team and could put a whooping on a lot of good teams. They have had their down games but so has every other team. DB has a lot of talent though. I think a lil too much for the Cherokees to handle. DB will win this battle of the Natives. DB- 24 MC - 22
  24. Congratulations Jeff. All that hard work paid off.
  25. Dirk and Lawyer truly are two of the best super fans that have ever cheered for the pats. I always appreciated the support from the fans when I played last year. Thanks for the personal shoutouts, too.
