Not in any way condoning the behavior of some Meigs fans but there has NOT been a revolving door of coaches the last 5 years. The coach the previous 4 years was Jason Powell, who had to step down because of medical reasons. Please get your facts straight before you try to ruffle up feathers.

The 50% rule as I read it just applies while school is still in session. After the school year ends there is no 50% rule.

Fantasy World !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So what you are saying is - only gifted athletes are social with one another? The win at all cost attitude is a terrible thing. Gifted athletes change schools because the grass is greener at other places if their team is not on top. Very rarely do they move because of bad treatment.....GET REAL!

And everybody complains about the private schools. Whats the difference?

From Meigs - Mobriant made it as a RB, Meadows as a WR. Not sure if Rayl made it as a QB or as a DB. I would think as a DB.

Never have got-R-done in the past and should have a couple of gold balls already in the trophy case.

There is one thing you don't have to worry about with the Meigs girls, and that is their intensity. I realistically think they could finish in the top 6 of the district this year, but they are still very young and need to pick it up a lot offensively. Coach Mincey will definately have them ready to play, as did Coach Powell. Last years experience should payoff with a few more W's this season, as 5 freshmen HAD to play significant minutes.

I know Meigs won but did they show improvement from last year ?

There was NO fight at the Meigs game. Central's QB did not get kicked out. He left for his own safety after a threat was allegedly received via text message. The threat came from Etowah, NOT Decatur.

Deepest sympathies from the folks over in Meigs County. We have all the respect in the world for Coach Pickett and his team. They were and are a class act.

And they were coached by that legendary Tyner coach Wayne Turner. It is amazing how good of a coach a guy can become when he moves to a school with talent.

Back to the subject. The playoff possibilities are unlimited in this region. The only sure thing, as I see it, is that the 4 teams will probably be Howard, Central, Meigs and Polk. They could be in any order. These last 4 weeks should make for some very interesting football. I have seen all 4 teams play and they have very different styles. Howard has speed, speed, and more speed and a coach that now seems to have them under control. Central has plenty of speed but can also play power football. Their coach has turned the program in the right direction but they still are a candidate to self destruct at any time. Polk plays harder than any team and has a coach that makes them believe they can and will win. Meigs doesn't have near the talent as the above teams but they will knock your teeth out on both sides of the ball. The key for them will be keeping everybody healthy. Their coach is the most underated coach around but he does an OUTSTANDING job year in and year out and is going to get out worked by nobody. P.S. I sure do wish somebody would start a Central vs. Polk thread that could be titled: Who hates who the worst or who can let their mouth overload their butt. Maybe the Central and Polk folks could stay out of everybody else's thread and we wouldn't have to read it unless we chose to.

If you could win the region by typing on a keyboard then Central has got it in the bag. Amazing how a team finally starts turning it around and all of a sudden they are un-BEATABLE

pretty sure Maryville runs an offense with a tight end......think his name might be Douglas.....Rhea Co. folks should know that name.
