  1. So a win vs. MAHS should weigh the same as a win vs. ENSWORTH. Oakland beat Ensworth but had two losses so they would be seeded lower than a Brighton that beat MAHS. Explain that at the end of the day.
  2. I have nothing against Brighton and the kids on that team. I do have a problem with a system done by our great T$$AA and how it allows teams to not play but ONE 6A game and get a home game. I'm sorry but I will continue to say this. And the way the bracket is set up if Dickson and Brighton both win the home games that they were given without winning more than ONE 6A game then they play each other so one of them is sitting in the Quarter finals. I'm sorry. I would never take it out on the kids, but I just want things to go a certain way to prove to the T$$AA that is system is not FAIR. They don't care though! IT IS ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS TO OLE BERNARD! Good luck to both teams and I hope no one gets hurt.
  3. yeah and those games against the Health Academy MAHS and Carver did nothing but help those stats!
  4. Nice System we have T$$AA! Brighton wins one (THAT IS ONE) 6A game and gets to host a playoff game. There are district winners who are having to travel and they played a true 6A schedule! I am rooting for Germantown big time. With my luck it will probably be Dickson vs. Brighton in 2nd round assuring that one of them go to 3rd round. Anyway around it UNFAIR
  5. Don't be surprised if Dickson County wins this one and then we have to listen to people saying they deserved a #3 seed, a home game, and a 6-4 Collerville! Dickson beat one (ONE) 6A school and they get to have a home game. Amazing system we have here T$$AA!!! Brentwood wins its district and has to play on the road at my smyrna Bulldogs. Unfair anyway you put it.
  6. Because this Z-plan, playoff crap that was made up (six classes) is all RONNIE'S Baby! This is what he wanted and then he goes away to leave the problems with old Bernard! Great Job Ronnie. btw Mr. prez. Your district has 6 in playoffs becasue we have TOO MANY classes!!!
  7. If the T$$AA is asked to do more work then they might start taking 100% of the gate instead of the 50% they do now! I bet Bernard sits up at night and throws darts at a picture of Ronnie Carter! Probably after he reads the $$$$$ signs in the budget!
  8. I've spent most of my time looking at 6A but I reckon' that we would find the biggest problems in 2A,4A, and 6A. The reason this is is districts are formed with smaller schools mixed with larger schools. I have been screaming since week 7 of the season that we could see in 6A that a Dickson Co. and Brighton were going to be high seeds in 6A and they were not even playing 6A teams. (one for each of them to be exact). This is were the balance is not correct. first off we have way too many classes for our state. 8 classes (8 state champs) heck are we the state of Texas? NO! We are the state of Tennessee and we are lead by the might dollar of the T$$AA and the more playoff games the more$$$$$$$$$$$$ for them!! Secondly, if we are going to have districts mixed with different classes then a point system should be in effect where wins vs. lower classes are not worth as much as wins over higher or the same size classes. Losses to higher classes do not hurt as much as losses to lower classes. District Champs should be seeded first then follow with who has the highest points. If we are not going to honor a district champ as a higher seed then we should not put all of the schools into districts. Just list them all 1 to whatever and play. Lastly, we have the teams that are in and lets just move on and play. The good teams will come out of this.
  9. YOU DO! You proved that in another thread where you are asking one of your fans why they don't like the T$$AA set up. You yourself said that HC should be happy with how things turned out as you get to beat up on one of the weakest districts in the entire state (5A and 6A)! I am one that has been on here complaining LOUDLY that it is unfair for Dickson County to get a home playoff game in 6A when they have won ONE 6A contest. It is not right. And to top it all they get a team that they might be able to beat (I hope they don't as it will prove my point also)! Gerry, don't argue with Mr. QBClubPrez! I do agree with the Prez that we have way too many classes. But the system is flawed! What about in 5A where Gallatin and Hendersonville are playing each other first round? I am a 7AAA fan (smyrna) and we got the screw last year and again this year. We won our district and our reward is the winner of district 11. Two district winners playing each other in the first round! Makes NO sense.
  10. Great system T$$AA! We have a quad possiblity with #1 and #2 having two 6A victories between them. So the T$$AA rewards them by giving them a home game. I have been saying this for two years. Not right for Dickson or Brighton to get high 6A seedings when they play 1 6A game a year!
  11. I didn't know what you were talking about here until I looked it up on the strength of schedule link. Franklin has played some really good teams I then looked at the whole schedule and it is not Franklin's fault that Ooltewah was bad this year and I guess it looks like their district is down also. How are those two KY schools doing overall? I saw them play a scrimmage against Smyrna and didn't think they were very good. I now understand how they have gotten to 8-1.
  12. Go District 7! Rootin' for the Blaze here.
  13. Kentucky Football vs. Tennessee Football. Hmmmmmmm? Let's see. This is a no brainer. Oakland 24 Christian Co. 8
  14. Smyrna 42 Ravenwood 7 That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
  15. Well I was just trying to point out how the system is FLAWED! Would you like it if you were 8-2 and you got compared to another team that was 9-1 and that won all of it's games vs. lower competition? And after watching Dickson County on TV last night I'm glad they might get pushed intos quad 3 and I hope they get paired up with Smyrna. I do not understand how our leaders at the T$$AA can look at two schools one with lets say 8 wins vs. same or larger classifications and another who has lets say 9 wins and more than half of those wins came against lower classifications. It is NOT RIGHT! I'd like to see how in the world anyone in District 7 will be able to get a schedule next year.
  16. That is why it is a MESSED up system! Not fair for a Brighton or Dickson to get a #1 seed in 6A when they are playing 5A or lower games! Same as it is not fair to a 5A team that is in a mostly 6A district. Everyone knows that the seeding is important because of home/away and that first round game. A Dickson or a Brighton are getting rewarded while an 8-2 team in district 7 is getting it stuck to them. I know that the good teams will come out of it eventually but we are rewarding scheduling down instead of up.
  17. I agree this system is so messed up. Why not go back to the old system I for one will not understand. I have looked at some other things that are MESSED up with the 6A bracket. If the T$$AA is going to put schools in districts and then break them out to 6 classes then wins vs. lower classes should not count as much as wins vs. higher or the same class. Just looking at 6A: Oakland's win vs. Ensworth rates the same as all of these Brighton over MAHS (A school) Dickson County over Creekwood (3A) Franklin over Fairley (4A) I'm not picking on these teams but All of them could be 9-1 or if Smyrna beats Oakland then they could go to 8-2 and not be seated as high as a team with wins over smaller classes. The system will make it hard to get a schedule as no one will want to play good competition outside of their district. I've said before that Brighton and Dickson County could get a #1 seed in the 6A playoffs and have only beaten ONE 6A team. Once again I'm not picking on those schools, but 7AAA plays good competition outside of their TOUGH district and gets hurt for it. Something is wrong!!!
  18. Well I got on here last year and complained and I will do it again this year. This system is : well I won't say it. How in the world can a Brighton or Dickson Co. who both will beat 1 that is one 6A team be put into 6A playoffs and get higher seed then an 8-2 Smyrna or 8-2 Brentwood? There is no explanation and it is just plain not right. Dickson only has one 6A team in its district! Brighton is only 6A in their district. Go back to the old system or just have 3 state champions A, AA, AAA. Everything is not about money T$$AA. or is it
  19. You could also find a troubling thing in 2A,4A, and 6A schools that play in districts that are full of 1A,3A, or 5A schools. My biggest gripe with this system is teams can make the playoffs without beating a single school in thier classification. This happened several times in 6A last year. Rossview, Dickson Co., and Brighton all made the 6A playoffs while only beating one team in their own classification. I think Dickson only beat Rossview(6A), I'm not for sure if Brighton beat any 6A teams and they got to play at home in the first round. All this and then the T$$AA puts a 10-0 (Arlington) into a Md. Tenn. Bracket. I know people will say that Dickson won thier first round game, but it is not right. There is no easy answer, except the money hungry T$$AA needs to understand that our state is not large enough for 6 STATE CHAMPIONS (+ 2 privates also)
  20. Are you sure about that??? I heard a rumor the other day........... No, I will not repeat it. Then why do you even say anything at all? By saying that you know you want to say something.
  21. HL will be alot better than the competition that DC chose to play this year. I'd say HL by 17. Coachfoozeball: I am not taking you with me to Vegas!!! I agree! I went to the Oakland Mt. Juliet game tonight, but I will admit when I am wrong. Dickson County proved me wrong tonight! I'm sure people will get on here and give me **** but I am willing to eat crow on this one. Congrats to DC. I still don't believe that the playoff system is right, but DC must have proved tonight that upsets can happen. PS: I never applied for any Dickson County job and "Drewcephus" I do not want the Warren County job either
  22. Found some teams that make this whole thing out to be a joke. Dickson county played 1 6A team and in 6A playoffs (1-0) Rossview played 2 6A teams and in 6A playoffs (1-1) Brighton played 1 6A team and HOSTING a 6A playoff game (and they lost that one 6A game)
  23. Henry County begged no one. They simply requested to stay in 5A where our enrollment dictated. We didn't want to be pushed into 6A due to the choice of others. Get over it. Have your team beat us. Melrose will beat most 6A teams. Henry County will too. Send your 6A "powers" down to Memphis and see how they fare. You are ignorant and I apologize for the fact that you are. I believe when you guys were 5A which is now 6A the "powers" did beat you guys Melrose was one time 5A for a little while and guess what: not out of the first round! Check your history before you pound on your chest and yell at someone who never said anything bad about YOUR TEAM! I said you guys are good, just no one else in 10AAA is very good. So crawl back under your rock and walk through another 10AAA team this Friday. Also, curious: When is the last time a team from Memphis made it to the state? So, I would guess those powers are doing fine when they play your MEMPHIS Schools
  24. I am a huge fan of TN high school football and I DO NOT bad mouth everyone in dist. 10! I am a Big Fan of the HC team and think they are very good. I watched them play last year vs. Hillsboro. My problem is with teams such as Smyrna getting a shaft by playing 6A teams and Dickson County can get into the playoffs by only playing ONE, ONE only 6A team. Now Mr. Prophet you explain to me how that is fair to teams that are in a tough district and then are playing a REAL schedule. You will tell me that they played 9-1 Columbia, well I will tell you that Columbia probably could not hold a candle to any of the teams (except Centennial) that Smyrna has played this year. Oh, I forgot that DC played 9-1 Creekwood. Are they not 4A? The system makes no sense. You are correct that 1a,3a, and 5a probably have scewed records and the same for better records with 2,4 and 6A. I will have to say though, most of 10AAA has been in other regions from time to time and ALL of them have done poorly when they were not playing each other. All my point is is that this system rewards teams for playing bad schedules and does nothing to reward teams for playing good competition!! Enough said and like I said earlier: We will see come Friday how many of your beloved 10AAA is still alive!! Who can win? you answer it HC vs Spring one of them has to win and ofcourse it will be HC NE? NW? Clark? DC? Rossview? You tell me which one of the other 5 might win????
