  1. So what's the word at Ravenwood? Heard they are interviewing but not much chatter at all.
  2. Wow already a favorite and there is not job? We have heard that is job is coming open, but we all thought that Clayton would be returning to Will Co.
  3. Then play in Div II A with DA, BGA, DCA, FCS, FRA. Rent your bands and have a blast. At least you would be playing with schools that tell the truth and offer financial aide instead of like you guys do caring on the biggest Farce of all Time!
  4. I get on here and give the T$$AA a hard time about seeding and how they let teams in to the playoffs as much as anyone. I always say it is not about the teams that make it, it is about trying to make a schedule because everyone needs "wins" to get into the playoffs, so out of district cup cakes help you. But MR. NOTREDAME I would keep my mouth shut. I think I remember watching a game on Thursday night where your great team gave up nearly 400 yards to one back. Congratulations to Dickson County on a great year.
  5. Doesn't matter. This came up several years ago and the Board of Control voted against it! Just like 5 classes to 6. The schools wanted 5 the Board of Control voted for 6. They do what benefits their own schools not what benefits their true area
  6. Well they made a vote that affected ALL classes by staying with 6 classes for football and One man even voted different from his 70-30% just to benefit his school and I guess the 30%. No reason to have a vote if you are not going to go with the MAJORITY of your area. If we are going to have 8 state champions for the 8 divisions of football then there should be a representative from EVERY division on a vote such as this. Explain how the majority of the state wanted 5 classes and in his area 70% wanted 5 classes but the principal at Sequatichie votes for 6??????
  7. NO I am not dense! Then do not break us up into 6 classes unless ALL are represented. 3A and 5A are teams that would want this system and they make up 6 of the votes (2 of which I believe voted for 5 classes) OH the way the schools and our fearless leader wanted. Also speaking of dense: Not sure how you come up with 3-4-3 ratio. That would be 10 sir instead of 9
  8. Well let's see. We have an organization that let's the Board of Control do the voting for the largest money making tournament (that being the T$$AA Football State playoffs) and we have a HUGE problem. First off, they send surveys and then report that the coaches/schools, maybe overall in close margins but overwhelming in many areas, wish for the old 5 class system for football. Well this board then votes 5-4 to keep 6. Well let's take a look at how we call ourselves a 3 class state for athletics (D-I) and two for (D-II) but then we divide into 6 for the D-I. So, if we were going to make real decisions then I would assume that ALL classes would be represented in the vote. Well: According to who is listed today as the Board of Control members there are 0 -6A, 3-5A, 1-4A, 3-3A, 0-2A, 1-1A, 0 -DII . One area (area 7) was listed as vacant. So we made a vote for the ENTIRE state but only had representation allowed to vote from 4 of the 8 divisions (50%). And on top of that six of them come from 5A or 3A schools. This is very interesting INDEED.

  11. Don't even try to compare. What makes football great is the regular season and district games MATTER. Indiana could have lost all its conference games gone to the conference tournament and win the tournament and go to the dance. All people that do not like the system are saying is that what was wrong with the old system (except now we have MORE playoff games and MORE winners for the T$$AA to make money off of). Also, when reading posts about Cleveland situation I notice where 70% of coaches in that area favored the old system but the Board of Control member voted for what was best for Sequatchie Co. Now that was a quote from the coach of Cleveland. 70% for 5 classes and the guy votes for 6. What a crock of ****. The T$$AA said in the tennessean right before the 5-4 vote that almost 2/3 of the coaches and schools wanted the old system. That is why people complain. There is no true voice of the coaches.
  12. This makes no sense. So it is ok to be paired and play with teams during regular season and then it is an obstacle in the playoffs? What? Bottom line is money and the "we all have to have a chance" attitude. T$$AA wants more teams in playoffs for that 50%. Then they let the Board vote and some members voted opposite from the overall wants of their area just to benefit their own school. cough, cough Tullahoma....Thinks that make you say hmmmmmm..
  13. Let's have one scheduling period (two years) with NO districts. Just classes, and see if those Clarksville schools will schedule you just because you are closer than 100 miles. I bet not. You would be looking for games just like us. That is the whole arguement about all of this. If we all knew top 4 in district/region go to playoffs then everyone would not care to schedule ANYONE for non-district games. But with the number one criteria being overall wins everyone will not schedule and then when the T$$AA makes some districts with 8,9,10 teams and others with 5 or 6 it is a scheduling nightmare for the smaller districts.
  14. Even beat up Riverdale wins this one. Our district will all win and play each other each round until semis vs Maryville
  15. First off, I agree with you that Head to Head should matter. But I looked at the numbers and you guys were the 8th highest 6 win team and Centennial was the highest rated 6 win team, so if we say Hillsboro is ahead of Centennial then you are now ahead of the six other 6 win teams. I am with you the whole system is bad and rewards people playing bad teams out of district. To me the Cleveland Walker Valley deal is way worse than yours. I mean Cleveland is not in Wallker Valley is and they have the same record and Cleveland beat them. Just a totally messed up system. Go back to the old way and atleast we all know who is in and who is out and then it does not matter about non-district games except for tie-breakers.
  16. Easy for you to say when you only have to find 2 non-district games. Try finding 5 and 6 games when everyone is "choosing how they schedule their non-district games to better allow them an opportunity of qualifying for the postseason."
  17. NO we tried to get a schedule and were stuck with what we got. Had to get Olive Branch. We tried to get many teams, but all said no they needed wins. Now we need wins. The question was asked about DC and many HC fans got on here and quoted so I included you guys too, but I really am referring to how it is not right for DC to be a number one seed in 6A when they have beaten one 6A team. They will win this Friday and you all will say see they deserved it, but what if they had to go through a real schedule then make the playoffs? Might be different. It is easy to sit and say "we will play whoever, whenever, when the T$$AA gives you 8 games from the start and 6 to 7 of those are gimmees. All I am saying is make all the districts more even in numbers and then lets see how easy or hard it is to schedule and see what happens. Right now (and we went 1-9) Coach is having a hard time filling our schedule. Try finding 4 or 5 games instead of 2. That is my complaint. It is not against HC or DC it is against the system and I used your district champ as an example.
  18. The T$$AA is paying the expenses! That makes me laugh more than the mistake of this silly system being voted in for 4 more years! Think about it. T$$AA is taking 50% from all the playoff games across the state this Friday night so we as the schools are paying these expenses of their stupid mistake.
  19. MSU Race and QB Club Prez, you too need to go eat some more fish that you guys are trying to sell. Dickson Co and Henry County are products of this stupid T$$AA system. Congrats to HC winning the state last year and they were a good team as I watched them in the state champ game, but it must be fun to not have to schedule ANYONE and then get into playoffs as a Six A number one seed. This is a problem that is not fair at all. Fish Fry Prez it has nothing to do with 5A/6A it has all to do with the way T$$AA has set these districts. If we are going to play in these districts this way then just play 3 state championships and top four go to playoffs from each district. But NO the T$$AA wants all this $$$$$$ and schools like you guys encourage them to keep this system. Now first off Mr. Fish Fry Prez you will get on here and talk badly about me, so I will tell you what I am. I am a district 7AAA follower and my Bulldogs are bad this year. Mr. Fish Fry Prez What do you think DC or HC record might be if they had to play private schools, Olive Branch, Arlington, Brentwood, Independence, and others in Middle and East TN because of the number one way to get into the playoffs is by over all victories after one/two in the district and NO ONE will schedule with each other. So if Siegel finishes one and Riverdale two and Brentwood one and Independence two you can see where the rest of us fight for wins when we are all playing each other for non-district games. How is this a fair system? Once again, my bulldogs are bad but I bet we would beat a Rossview team badly that you mentioned earlier making the playoffs. Well that team does not have to schedule anybody since the district is so bad they get the wins that way. On another note, I would bet 6-4 Oakland would destroy 9-1 Dickson yet Dickson will be a number two seed and get a home playoff game while Oakland will travel. The system is not good. This is why we give teams like Dickson County a hard time. MSU racer you are correct a schedule does not make you better for the season, but a schedule does allow you to win with ease, work on stuff and get better, get people healthy, etc. Not when you play Olive Branch instead of Kenwood.
  20. Let's see FCS moves to Div II and says that "work studies" does not allow the athletes to be eligible. Question then, Why is CPA, Goodpasture, Lipscomb allowed to find money through the churches and that make the athletes eligible???? No one will answer correctly, because they hide behind the fancy church doors and sit in the church and pretend that they are helping these families as they join the church and that is how they are discounted into the school. Oh wait the families do not even have to go to the church, just become a member.....hmmm interesting for sure??? Why won't CPA join division II like FCS? hmmm....

  23. Final season? I have not read anywhere that Dyson has said he is leaving after this year? Did I miss something?
  24. And then he went 4-6, 5-5 before he bolted and left Ravenwood. So, does this make him a bad coach since he started with wins and then did not meet expectations?? I think Rector does a good job, but as a coach that was coaching Smyrna and we played those Ravenwood teams, they were doing the same thing during those 3-17 years where Coach Daniels was the coach and then next when Rector became official head coach.
