Once again, it was another fight instigated by the opposition.

4 RHS players at once an two Loretto players. RHS should get two of them turned over through appeals though. The other ejection was late in the 4th quarter. I have never seen anything like the flag fest of that game. Fans were ejected on the RHS side also. During the whole process of sorting out who would be ejected, the head official stood with the loretto coach to discuss the penalties. I think that if the TSSAA doesn't step in and do something about this crew, someone will end up seriously injured as a result of the incompetence of these officials. When officials call out players and antagonize coaches it can only end badly.

That crew is a band of misfits. They are arrogant and antagonistic. I can tolerate poor calls, but not punks.

I was at the game. The officials have ZERO business near a football game of any kind. They are just as much to blame as the players and coaches. They lost any control that they had.

I agree he takes up more eyes but CA would still be good without him without Newton Richland lost the3 games he didnt play

My top picks for MVP are Newton from Richland and Williams from CA. In head to head Newton has the battle won. In the first game Newton had 18 while Williams had 17, 14 of those came in the first half in the second Newton held him to 3. In the second game Newton had 28 while Williams had 9. I understand CA won both games but if Newton didnt play it wouldnt have been close. We are looking for the M-V-P not the best team... Newton is my pick based on that. Any thoughts?

I agree with the top two teams, after that... WHO CARES... None of the rest of them could beat the Nashville school of the Blind... Tanner Newton is a BEASTTTTT, and when #25 Blake Ramsey gets in its gonna rain 3's... Cody Jordan is impressive as a freshman and is the 6th man n: He will score over 1500 points in his career... Cameron Edwards coming back will give the Raiders a different look besides the run and gun team they are which will make them even more a threat... Raiders may not get beat, Summertown and CA should be the only threats until the Region finals and Sub-State.. Richland Raider boys State Bound!

personally i would of loved to see two 0-4 footballs teams fighting on the field quite hummorus

The main problem with Richland is they have no one that can catch aids in a gay bar. no o-line on the left side but they show promise for the future. They have a first year QB who isnt bad but isnt a true QB yet!!!! The best WR they have is #10 but still isnt much with just one person. Good luck Raider but i still sadly give Wayne County the ad.

[/quote I would agree more talent but also let's factor in the size of the schools and the fact that all of the east teams are truly 1a PUBLIC schools is that the west and middle teams fault no but it's harder for a team to compete when you have 200 kids to pick from compared to 500 and the fact that private schools go out and get their players. That's one thing that the tssaa needs to look into moving private schools out of the same division as public schools but that'll never happen because the people in charge of that stuff have kids that go to these private schools and they love to see their own kids winning state championships year in and year out. Also one word for ya.... MONEY /smile.gif" style="vertical-align] are you including Cascade and Summertown,both middle Tenn. teams, in the statement that they have 500 kids to choose from, both of these communities are just wide spots in the road but have managed to have very successful seasons the last couple of years,

I hate it when I'm right, looks like a repeat of last year with the east Tenn. teams, congraulations for making it to Spring Fling anyway

from the scores I have seen from the single A first day games it does not look good for east TN. teams to make a good showing this year

If I remember last years single A spring fling correctly I dont think an east Tennessee team won a single game except against another east Tennessee team

not always, I have seen advertising dollars donated to the program by the parents buy all district honors for their kid who hardly saw the field all year except from the dugout

Richland and Columbia Academy are the only teams left, Richland in the winners bracket and CA out of the losers bracket, Championship games supposed to be tonight starting at 5:00 but more rain is on the way

does anybody know the details of Richland totally trashing CA 22-2, of course the Columbia paper barely mentions the the score no box score, of course if CA had won there would be coverage of every walk, hit and every at bat

no offense intended to Huntland, meant more as a jab at TSSAA and how ridiclious it was to have 2 teams from over 60 miles away playing in the same district as the other 5 teams when they are all within about a 20 mile radius, but I guess that is being taken care of next year. also Huntland just had the district tourney 2 years ago if it is going to be moved from CA let someone else have a chance to host

I sure hope they dont make all these teams drive all the way to Huntland to finish this tournament when 5 of the 7 teams are 1 1/2 hours drive away or moreRichland or Sam Davis in Pulaski are alot more centrally located

Apologies, I wasnt trying to down any team,not a fan of either of these teams,I was trying to point out that these polls have very little to do with who is the best team, it is my opinion that Summertown or Cascade should be at the top of the class A poll

I will agree friendship is always tough at the end of the season, Lookout Valley number 1 again didnt they get embarassed last year at Spring Fling ranked number 1

Richland will win this game. I watched them play at East Hickman last week and everything looked good. Their D has been great this year and the offense is starting to come around with #2 Austin Sands busting two BIG runs adding up to 115 yards in two runs alone. Also their QB #4 Trrent Henderson completed several passes that looked good. Not to mention their DT # 52 Henry Patterson who got ejected last year he will be out on a mission this year to make up for what he missed last year. Richland at home 21-13

a good win by Huntingdon for sure, but remember the pitcher you were facing is a kid Richland did not even use as a starting pitcher during the season he was just used as short relief. with their number1 and number 2 pitchers ready to go today it should be a real good game, Lookout Valley could not handle Richlands number 3 pitcher last night with the exception of 1 inning when he was having leg cramps on almost every pitch but he worked through it and shut them down the rest of the game, dont have the opinion that all of Richland's fans are like the one you ran into yesterday and let' hope for a great game today. good luck to both teams
