  1. Thanks for the compliment as I know I speak for Robin as well. Trenton is the team to beat in the West again. Happy Holidays!
  2. Ooooh, Sha Brooks & an up & coming Liberty team followed by a war in the boys game. Delk/Delk etc. vs the high-octate Crusaders! Now that's MUST-SEE TV!
  3. You're thinking of Harpeth Hall, all girls D-2 powerhouse in Nashville.
  4. As is mine. What we ought to do is simulcast & alternate every dead ball! Seriously, I'm looking forward to calling these games. I don't get to do as much play-by-play as I'd like.
  5. Coach Whitby didn't become one of the winningest coaches in the state by making poor personnel decisions. Lake Co. fans are having to adjust now that his bench is deep enough to do the things he wants to do. At Obion Central he always had a roster full of players and played different combinations and used what seemed to the fan to be odd substitution patterns. I assure you there is a method to what he does and only he knows what is best for his roster. It's easy to second guess but my advice would be sit back, don't try to analyze and enjoy the ride. A win's a win and all games are worth going to if at all possible because you are supporting all of the kids.
  6. Just to let you know, the games will also be carried on 101.3 and I will be doing the play-by-play. Sportsradio & I will both give you a quality broadcast so take your pick. We promote each other any way and seldom do the same game but this should be a great girls matchup.
  7. Course you already know 7AA, but broadcasts of Westview, Dresden, Gleason, & Greenfield can be heard by going to www.crunet.com & clicking on the radio tower link.
  8. Would love to make the trip but can't. Good luck to all teams and have safe trips. Treat our West Tennessee teams nicely! I know they'll enjoy the tournament.
  9. Our broadcasts can be accessed live at www.crunet.com
  10. I do not have it with me. If The Beave doesn't post it, I'll do it when I can.
  11. Thanks for the compliment 7AA. Magid said you had some PC problems but I'm glad you caught what you did. It was the 1st game my play-by-play partner had done for Westview and the pace of the game threw him a little! Any chance that games from the Classic will be on the internet anywhere?
  12. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said my friend, especially the accolades for Eddie Suiter. The Lady Rebels have a keeper. I hope no one tries to run him off. As far as the 'View, poor shooting in the first half and "spectating" defense on some possesions could not be overcome against a great team like Obion. They are the team to beat in 13AA & maybe statewide. The Wizard will deal with defensive matters and right the ship starting Saturday. Good luck to Westview, Gibson Co., & Chester Co. as they travel to the Upper Cumberland for the Mid-South Classic. Hope our friends in 7AA enjoyed the broadcast last night via the magic of the Internet.
  13. The girls lineup is on another thread about the Mid-South Classic.
  14. At this point it would be hard to top Kayla/Candace. The fact they are both sophomores makes their talents even more impressive. Losing Tiffany Felts to another ACL will hurt the Lady Bulldogs, but if this backcourt duo continues to improve Gleason should be returning to Murfreesboro.
  15. My stats are out in the truck but I believe the score was 53-40. Greenfield didn't shoot very well from the field. Gleason controlled tempo pretty well. Brandon had about 15 points. Jackets sealed it with good FT shooting in 2nd half.
  16. First of all, let's don't start breaking down sentences for grammar. You have misspelled biological, the phrase is "case in point", and you have left out several necessary commas that i've seen just at a glance. I really don't want to take the time to diagram the paragraph. I was not at the game so I cannot comment on what happened but to compare ANY young person to Ron Artest is uncalled for. I do know Jimmy Whitby having worked with him and had my son play for him four years at Obion Central. He will not tolerate bad attitudes and will have as disciplined a group as Lake County has seen in some time. When was this throwing of a ball incident by someone you have pegged as a "thug Falcon" supposed to have taken place? During the game, warmups? Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. I have experienced unruly behavior by Dyer Co. fans in the past with worse taunts than you have raised. I also know that Lake Co. has not been punished by the TSSAA for any activities on the court or off. I understand from within the program that Coach Froedden is instilling some discipline into the Choctaw program and I applaud him for that. As an employee of the Lake Co. School System and a former teacher of each of the Falcon players, I hope that nothing uncalled for took place. If it did, it should be dealt with. However using the word thug and and comparing young men to Ron Artest does lack class. The biological reference, though trying to be funny I assume, was NOT in the least.
  17. Baseball/Softball coaches are affected more than basketball. In the short period of time they have to get a season in, it would be really tough to just get home-home done with 9 other teams. That doesn't allow much room for tournaments either. District 13AA had ten teams from 1999-2001. I know first-hand how basketball was those two seasons. It made for a good bit of travel but more than anything, it was unfair that some athletes had to wade through a marathon regular season district schedule with nearly every game meaningful toward the post-season while other teams cruise through the regular season & early post-season. Every effort should be made to make the "playing field" as level as possible for all involved. Some have said Randy Frazier & his cohorts have gotten spoiled with a 4-team district. That was not a good situation either but I assure you that is not what the people who are challenging the BOC on this want. 4 is not enough, 10 is too many. How about some compromise and acknowledgement of the work the TSSAA put into the districts. This district was changed by the BOC during floor discussion. This would be akin to professional geographers studying how to fairly draw up congressional districts based on valid data & the members of congress coming up with their own plan after it was submitted. The majority should be best served, not the select.
  18. Taking nothing away from the rest of the Peabody team, just a little fantasy here. Could you imagine if Shane Sisco combined his perimiter players like Coby & Weddle with Uncle Clint's inside game for a Sisco All-Star Team! It would rain trifectas and dipsy do dunkaroos! With all those PTP'ers It would be awesome baby! Disclaimer: Any similarity to Dickie V is purely INTENTIONAL.
  19. Well my Crimson Fowl loving friend, here's a little professional courtesy. I know you would do the same. Better have a long lineup sheet because Westview's rotation is at least 10 deep. This edition of the Lady Chargers love the long ball, especially Megan Witherspoon & Laura Crittendon. Leigh Ricketts compliments Latoya Bellamy as a post presence and line-to-line full court pressure is applied for 32 minutes by the likes of Dazarae Higgs, Kendra Owens, & Ciera Thomas. Mix in Natalie Fuqua & the lone senior on the roster, Sheena Pitcher, & The Wizard has the cauldron boiling early on. Is it a basketball game or a track meet? That is the question.
  20. [ Also excited about the much anticipated 13AA matchup over at Martin Westview next week which will be joined in the 2nd HALF after Coach Fisher finishes talking about the latest Titans loss Listened to part of your broadcast tuesday(we had a rare night off). Think you're getting back into the swing of it. In the studio you miss out on the camraderie with the people. You're much better off. Just don't drive the modulation so much. Looking forward to the Westview-Central girls game as well. Eddie Suiter returns to coach against his alma mater and I anticipate both teams being unbeaten. For the ENTIRE broadcast, join us on Mix 101.3 at 6:10 with The Jeff Fisher Show to follow.
  21. After seeing Greenfield against S. Fulton Friday night I was most impressed with the improvement of Jeremy Smith. He has progressed from a role player two years ago to a fine basketball player. He has bulked up some from football and is playing with a lot of confidence offensively as a senior. Greenfield will not be as deep as some teams but will be competitive.
  22. Thanks. Hope you saw us during the T-N-T years. I really thought the high school would win a gold ball with that bunch but there were too many outside influences and a certain fellow named Pearson that got in the way. This is the deepest LCHS boys team since I've been in the system. No reason basketball & football can't both be good the next couple of years.
  23. Kentucky has one classification for the post-season. They have an "All A Classic"" in January which is like a state tournament for small schools. Of course these schools can still make it to the coveted Sweet Sixteen. Ky. has 16 regions made up of 64 districts. Hard for the small schools to break through but not unheard of. Bigster. Give me a hint as to your identity. No secret that I'm Vic DuRall, teacher & former coach in Lake County. I got to see our boys when I did the Dresden game on the radio. I think they have a shot of making Murfreesboro as long as they shoot decently. They crash the offensive boards which is a must if your going to shoot the long ball. I have them against Greenfield in January but don't know if I'll see them anymore until the region. Keep supporting them.
  24. Is this the way the bracket lays out top to bottom?
