  1. Don't give the TSSAA any bright ideas about requiring schools to report scores. The next thing you know, they will be issuing fines for not reporting. Just another way for the TSSAA to take some money off of already poor public schools.
  2. Don't count out South Greene. They have already defeated Sullivan South and played very well against Science Hill until they got into foul trouble.
  3. I am not saying he's the best and don't know how anybody can say anybody's the best when we can't see everybody in the State play, but Tyler Sauceman from South Greene High School is very good as well. The kid is 6'4 200 lbs and can absolutely get off the ground. I haven't see a better leaper in my life and he has unbelievable hands. However, South Greene is not a big school or very well known for football, therefore this kid may go unnoticed. Some local schools are definately interested (Carson Newman, Tusculum, etc.), but because of the lack of school recognition, he may fall by the wayside. He is also a very good basketball player!
  4. If coach Ricker had not decided to slow the tempo of the game down in the fourth quarter it would have probably been a 25 to 30 point game. SG was definately the best team last night. Everyone out there who thinks SG gets all of the calls should get over it. We complain about calling just as much as anybody. The fact is that SG girls take the ball to the hole every trip and people have to foul in order to save giving up layups.
  5. Good luck goes out to PF tonight. Last night was a great game and it was hard to see anyone lose. Keep the district alive!
  6. I agree with your statement about not playing on Wednesday nights, but in this case their is no choice. The Regional Tournament must be completed by Thursday night because the girl's sub-state games are played on Saturday. They want teams to have Friday to prepare for where and whom they will be playing. Just one of those instances where there is no choice.
  7. For your information, Cloudland finished with 20 wins this season. Furthermore, SG defeated Cloudland by 10 at home and Cloudland defeated SG by 10 at there place. Hardly killed SG. As for tonight's game, I hope Volunteer overlooks SG. SG has 19 wins, and I will grant you, they have not played an easy schedule. SG also was co-champs of the District 2 AA season, and were defeated on a last second shot by Rutledge in the semis of the tournament. SG will give Volunteer all they want.
  8. I think you are all retarded. One sentence will define everything: SG in sub-state at home on Saturday! Enough said!
  9. The reason Ricker was never off the bench yelling is because he knew the game was never in doubt. As for the refs, they are brutal, I will agree. They must have called 5 charges and 20 walks. That is the only reason HV even stayed in the game.
  10. I guess you had bad officiating when you beat WG 102 to 40 as well huh? Sounds like poetic justice to me!!!
  11. All of you need to get a life. SG had three of there starters in foul trouble all night by bogus calling. Caraway, Sauceman, and Laws were all in foul trouble all night. Caraway, one of the great point guards around, was called for his third foul mid way through the second quarter. Quit crying! As for the technical fouls, I sat behind the SG bench and the UCHS players ran that mouth all night and half of them walked off of the court without shaking hands after the game. As for the technical foul on the coach, it was a no brainer. He slammed his board on the floor and his marker went onto the court right in front of a ref. Well deserved!!!!! As for the last call, as long as there is time on the clock, the game is still going. A foul is a foul. The kid clearly had his legs taken out from under him as he shot. I just wished more refs would make the same call. A foul is a foul no matter when it happens! Furthermore, Sauceman made three free throws to win the game with no time left. What pressure? Quit whinning about the calling, especially you PF fans. You would question a foul if there was blood if it went against you, but just as soon as somebody gets touched, your whinning that it didn't get called.
  12. From South Greene, Cody Caraway as a Senior and Tyler Sauceman as a Junior.
  13. The Pigeon Forge vs South Greene game on Friday was truly a great game. South Greene did come up on the short end, but it wasn't because the coach was't in the game. His assistant coach got upset a bit, but the head coach did his job. As for all of those people out there who down play the situation, don't forget the records are the same (13-3). (Co-Champs). South Greene beat PF @PF and PF beat SG @SG. As for the #1 sede, it is very important and congratulations go out to the players of PF. However, to win the tournament, PF still has to beat one of two teams that have already beaten them. I would say that Rutledge has the advantage going in. They have been playing very well now for about 4 weeks. As for PF, with the exception of the win against SG, they have stunk it up over the last couple of weeks. So, it is tournament time! It should be a great one! One more thing, I was at the game Friday night. PF must have shot 60% from the floor. I don't remember them missing many shots. No team should ever lose if they can do that. The question is, Can they do that again? Probably not. And as for getting all the calls, SG got one broken off in them with around 3 minutes to go when they were down by 6 and Sauceman took the ball the length of the floor to score and was fouled, but the ref waived off the basket and called a charge on a player that was never on that end of the floor. Terrible call. With that said, Mark Killion has to be the worst official in the entire state!!!!
  14. Glory is picking SG by 10 over PF. Does anybody else have any predictions?
  15. SG looked really good last night. They just seemed to click as a team and that is good now that it is almost tournament time. I have seen them play really bad and still win, but last night they were solid. It was enjoyable to watch.
  16. Hey bballl, What exactly happened at Claiborne County last night? You said that Coach Harper got tossed?
  17. Claiborne has shown they can beat the top teams. They handed SG one of their two losses, and now they have given PF a big loss. Claiborne has also played other teams very well, but have come up just short a few times. PF has been leaking over the past few games. A close game with Claiborne last week and another with CD last week may have them startled a bit. Does anybody know who PF has tonight? I know SG goes to UC. Does anybody have any predictions on these games or any others that will take place tonight?. SG lost a battle last night with Cocke County, but I am sure they will be ready for UC tonight. With the possibility of a conference championship and the #1 spot in the tourney on the line this week, look for SG to step up their game a bit. It has been quiet some time since the SG boys have made some noise.
