  1. Cumberland County was also without one of its leading scorers when they played LC. The rest of the Jets stepped up against a more physically gifted team. Every team has to play with injuries, so please don't down grade the CCHS win.
  2. Great win for the Jets tonight! Without one of their key players the team stepped up and played smart and are on to the finals. Good luck tomorrow.
  3. Did you mail the request to the school? Cumberland County never recieved a request in the mail. I will make sure you get a program from CCHS very soon.
  4. When I asked some coaches at Coffee County what they wanted to do, their preference would be to stay in 6AAA. If Stone is added, then that would make a six team district. That would be much better than the five teams currently in 6AAA. I also heard that Rhea County would be in favor of moving into 6AAA, but that brings in the time zone issue during disrict play, which is a headache. TSSAA stated during the last classification that they did not want schools crossing time zones during district play.
  5. If Stone is added to 6AAA then there would be three 6A schools and three 5A schools, which would be a good balance. This is assuming that Coffee County doesn't get moved out.
  6. Stone definitely wanted to go east for basketball. Both coaches felt it would be an easier road to the state tournament. They were sweating bullits at the thought of going west. I do know that Cumberland County wants to go west due to the time zone issue and the fact that they already play most of the 8AA schools in most sports. It just makes more sense. I just wish TSSAA would get the enrollment figures up so everyone can start speculating where the breaks between A-AA-AAA will be...
  7. I hope this great tournament fills up! The facilities are awesome!
  8. Anyone heard any news about who will replace Tim Smith at Stone Memorial?
  9. Congratulations to Cumberland County High School's Jaclyn Reagan and Taylor Vaden. Both these young ladies reached the 1000 point plateau in the last week.
  10. Cumberland County LHP John Bilbrey has signed with Tennessee Tech.
  11. Russ Partin stepped down at Cumberland County. He was replaced by Defensive Coordinator Ted McCaslin.
  12. While we are talking about odd teams that still have a play-off chance you need to mention Cumberland County. They are currently 1-1 in the district and with a win this week vs. Coffee County and next week at White County they would finish 3-1 in the district, which would put them in second place. They could still make the play-offs with a 3-7 record.
  13. CCHS running back Tyler Howard has over 700 yards rushing in the teams first 3 games. Does anyone know where this ranks with other backs in the state?
  14. Cumberland County's Tyler Howard has 18 carries for 347 yards and 5 TD's. Great win Jets! Keep working.
  15. Please add pitcher Kelly Walker of Cumberland County High School to this list. She signed with Tennessee Wesleyan in February. Here is the link: My link
  16. I am happy to report that Coach Moore was released from the hospital and is home resting. He will begin therapy in Crossville. As for Steven Hill, he has been released from the ICU and is doing better. He is still at Childrens Hospital, but may get to come home before Christmas. They are still trying to determine what caused his blood clots. Thanks to all have prayed these two, and thanks to all that will continue to pray for them. Merry Christmas to all!
  17. Please say a prayer for two members of the Cumberland County basketball program. Assistant Coach Blaine Moore suffered a stroke on Tuesday and was taken to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment. He has progressed enough to come home today, but will still be going through therapy for some time. On the same day, junior Steven Hill was taken to the hospital. He was diagnosed with blood clots in his legs and lungs. Steven was later taken to East Tennessee Childrens Hospital, where he is currently in the ICU. We are still not sure why the clots formed, as tests are still being run. He is a great young man that will be going through a lot over the next several months. Please keep both these individuals in your prayers this holiday season.
  18. First, congratulations to White County. You deserved the victory. Second, please get your facts straight before posting. The two individuals that approached the bus threw water bottles. The police officer on the scene is the one that used the pepper spray once the White County players exited the bus. There were only four officers present. It was a disgrace for CCHS, and I am sure that it will be dealt with. Good luck in the play-offs.
  19. I don't know who to believe here. One parent said that Coach Epperson was moving because his wife found a job, but another parent said she talked to his wife and she didn't want to move that far east. Does anyone know the truth? Anyone heard names of possible replacements? Spring practice is right around the corner.
  20. The Lady Jets are looking for a new coach. Should be a lot of interest. They have everyone coming back from last year and should have a good group of incoming freshmen. Anybody have news about who might apply?
  21. The 2 boys semi-finals will be played in Warren Co. at 6:00 and 7:30 cst, but the Cleveland / Walker Valley girls championship game has been moved to Bradley Central HS. Don't know the time.
  22. Does anyone know why this game was played on Friday night instead of Saturday as set by TSSAA?
  23. Great win Jets! CCHS defeated Cookeville 47-44 to take the 6AAA crown. Keep things rolling into the region. Awesome job Coach Foster.
  24. Not that it makes much difference, but Cumberland County is the #2 seed and White County is #3.
