  1. Or, the TSSAA can correct the discrepancy. And I did try to call the TSSAA office. Apparently they are all watching volleyball. My AD ha also tried to contact and no call returned. I'm told there is a D2AA discrepancy as well. I also see another thread on D2AAA noting a discrepancy. Bottom line is TSSAA has a pile of mess going and they are all watching volleyball
  2. The TSSAA needs to get their collective heads out of their backsides and decide what bracket they are going to use. Back in July, they put out a bracket showing 5 middle region teams making the playoffs. I found this bracket at tssaa.com. Click sports, then football, then click football regulations. Just last week I was on tssaasports.com. After clicking 2023 playoff info, I discovered a different D2A bracket showing the West Region bracket getting 5 playoff teams. About half an hour ago, I noticed the bracket on tssaasports.com has changed again and it is now showing the original bracket I saw months ago on the tssaa.com site. What is going on with the bracket TSSAA? Please get your act together. Having a bracket, changing it, and then changing it back to the original is not a good look. Get your act together please.
  3. One station, owned by Paul Tinkle, has been broadcasting UC games for years and years. Just few years ago, the Froggy station decided they want to be the voice of UC. The people in charge there at Froggy got cozy with UC administration and they are the new local darlings even though they didn't play by the rules in post season last year. Just my interpretation of the facts as I know them. In certain markets, the media business is cut throat to say the least. And that is a fact. In Jackson, 4 different media outlets broadcast up to 6 games per week.
  4. For the most part, Associated Press sports writer are not known for being the brightest bulbs in the box
  5. It will be 1 Columbia Ac 2 NCS 3 DCA 4 Franklin Grace
  6. TCA 56 FACS 35 Lekhy Thompkins, 5 touchdowns (2 rec, 3 run)unofficially 310 rush, 70 receiving Nick Jones 1 td reception Braden Waller 2 td receptions Cooper Vailes 5 td passes 178 yards unofficially Link to game replay: https://fb.watch/nGc2OtlrIw/?mibextid=Nif5oz Trinity Christian unofficially had 610 yards total offense with 432 rush 178 pass FACS defense had given up 66 total points going into TCA game. TCA drops 56 on FACS
  7. I'd like to invite everyone to watch the Worthy Road Studios livestream of the TCA at FACS game tonight. The broadcast begins at 6:30pm central time tonight. Myself (Reitz Fan) and Diamond Dave McCulley have the call. You can watch the game at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/TrinityChristianLions. Stan.
  8. Heavy fines and other sanctions MUST be levied against schools that do this by the TSSAA without fail. It seems very prevalent in volleyball and softball especially from Memphis city schools.
  9. Outside of JCS and TCA, I'd agree with your assessment of the FACS schedule to date
  10. Lots of people can argue about it. The question remains, is their argument worthy.

    D2 Week 9

What are your thoughts on this weeks D2 games? I know many D 2 teams have a bye this week. For me, D2A has this weeks most interesting matchup as #5 Trinity Christian makes the trip west to Memphis to take on #4 FACS. TCA won last year's encounter 48-13 in Memphis. TCA is almost exactly 50/50 run v pass while FACS is around 75/25 towards the run. TCA has to be favored through the air. Running the ball, FACS #1 is a blazer who has rushed for 997 this year. TCA #1 rushed for over 300 as a freshman last year and has over 800 yards so far this year. FACS is hungry and is sporting their best record in years. TCA has a new coach who has instilled real physicality in the Lions. Playoff seeding is at stake and this looks to be a very entertaining game. Worthy Road Studios will have a free live stream of this game on Friday at 6:30 central time. The broadcast link is https://www.facebook.com/TrinityChristianLions . IN D2 AA, ECS travels to Jackson to take on USJ. The winner of this game will most likely finish 3rd and get a home first round playoff game. What other games are worthy of discussion?
  12. Last week there only ended up being two games worth watching. Only one game involved both teams Bing in this top ten list. This week's schedule is still light. No games involving teams in this Top 10of this pole. However, there are several games with big implications and I envision some movement next week. The headline game should be TCA at FACS. FACS is in must win mode if they want to finish Second in region play. TCA is also in must win mode as they need this game to keep region championship hopes alive with a throw down v JCS in week 11. The teams are ranked 4 and 5 in D2A pole this week. Lake Co v JCS has states #1 rusher against states #1 receiver. ECS at USJ has a home playoff game likely awaiting the winner of this game. There are other games where high stakes poker will be played ad well. This week will be much more interesting overall then last week's games
  13. Dude, when you make the above comment before the game that NCS will win by 10+ and they lose 27-21......Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could even see your comment did not age well. The game statistics show your comment didn't age well. It was CA who had the overall advantage with the numbers. NCS did have just over 150 passing yards CA had just under 150. The CA quarterback played a great game and had the overall better QB rating. The kid from NCS made some exceptional plays but also made some poor on field decisions. Why is it so hard for you to admit that your prediction on the game did not age well? Nobody is disrespecting the NCS QB. Everyone knows what he is capable of Just man up and give the young men at CA the credit that they are due, eat your crow, and get ready for next week. I'm going to go out on a limb here. As of now it certainly appears that NCS and FC will collide in the quarter final round of the playoffs. That game will be a dandy.
  14. You know, it's hard to rebuild a program in one year. Previous coaches had let the program at ECS slide. Anyone with the least bit of football knowledge knows you don't rebuild a football program overnight. You might be interested in knowing that Coach Butlers 8th grade, 7th grade, and 5th-6th grade teams either went undefeated or only had one loss. The future is bright at ECS and Butler will be that guiding light.
  15. Playerscoach, We are all waiting to hear how losing the factual statistical battle means NCS moved up and down the field. Stats and video don't lie sonny boy.
  16. It doesn't matter what playercoach thinks about how the game should have turned out. The final score of 27-21, CA over NCS, is all that matters. You simply don't like that your pregame post simply didn't age well and I busted your chops for it. Time to move on Pal.
  17. NCS could have marched up and down the field all night long my man. What matters is the final score. Like Metallica said "And Nothing Else Matters". Based on reports received, perhaps some should have been more worried about the game at hand than visiting other schools. Distractions are real and most likely played an outcome in the final result. CA was more focused and they got the bigger prize. Congrats to CA.
  18. The above comment didn't age well.
  19. I think Columbia Academy is focused while there may still be some distractions for NCS. JMO
  20. Pretty bold statement considering WC and LC will not meet in the regular season. I do believe if the young man from LC can hang around 245 on Dresden, close to 145 on Dyersburg, and around 125 on OBC, I think he is probably more than capable of dropping 300 on WC should they meet in a playoff game. JMO
  21. Tried to look at the stats for several of the players talked about here. Some of the schools only had stats for two or three games listed. Another only had stats listed for one player, and many just don't make stats available.
  22. I have to have Hardin County at either 2 or 2B. While the boys at Stanktown are a top notch team, the numbers game has to favor Hardin Co in a theoretical matchup. Overall size, speed, and depth have to be taken into account. Their offense will win games but when faced against a team as big, strong, and quick it's definitely not designed for an air raid or a quick rally. JMO
  23. Admittedly, that is hard for me to do. I'm also OCD on terminology. With that being said, I basically agree with chargerfan. I have not watched one down of NFL or college football this weekend. I have watched 4 full or partial high school broadcasts and am currently working on some statistical research to help out an area sports writer. Have also edited and posted video clips from 2 different games this week. Have also written an editorial piece on high school football playoff formats for a publication in my home state of Indiana. Despite enjoying stirring the pot from time to time, I'm all about high school football and high school sports in general
