1. I'm pretty sure Polk County hired John Dixon this past offseason as the team's new kicking/punting coach. I hear he's doing one heck of a job and has really helped Polk's kicker with his technique.
2. If it was not for the refs throwing flags after Ricky was 30 yards down field, he may have had 300. That is what I was responding to. This guy was making it sound like Ladd actually had more yards than he was credited with so I simply said this was not the case. Also, to say White House had 400 yards rushing is an exaggeration. Ladd had 243 yards on 32 rushes, but White House as a team had 37 rushes for 249 yards. Now I know I'm much more uneducated down here in dumb ole Polk County, but that's not even close to 400 yards.
3. That run before the half is already included in Ladd's rushing total for the night since Polk declined the penalty to send the game to halftime. So, if you want to be picky, Ladd's rushing totals were actually inflated by 80 yards. But don't get me wrong, Ladd is a heck of a back.
4. That was a purely sarcastic remark directed to fcd163. I was actually taking up for you Coach J.
5. I guess that automatically makes him ignorant since he's a Polk County fan.
6. No kidding. "The Dragon" acts like he knows a lot about Polk, but in all actuality he knows very little. Those teams that 35Wham listed are by no means pushovers. I guess "The Dragon" expects Polk to just show up and roll their helmets out on the field and win. I asked you once during the Loudon week to tone down your remarks because Loudon is a very good football team. Loudon probably wouldn't have even known it was homecoming until that Friday night if you hadn't have mentioned it on this board and talked about how Polk was going to blow them out. Instead, Loudon used that for motivation all week in practice by knowing they were Polk's homecoming. I'm not saying that is why Loudon beat Polk, but I'm sure it didn't help.
7. I had heard that Meigs had some injuries earlier in the year. Whose going to be back and who's not going to be ready to play Friday?
8. Your statements lead me to think that you are highly misinformed. Also, I would have loved for Coach Stone to make some sort of quote. It seemed like he disappeared when things hit the fan.
9. Remember you heard it here first: Jwinston will pick Meigs to win the region in 2006.
10. I am now a lot dumber from reading that post.
11. It sounds to me like the people ruling the roost in Basin are a bunch of cry babies. I guess Basin will try to start playing teams who are just starting a football program like Tennessee Temple... Wait...that was a bad example since I'm pretty sure that Temple beat Basin last year.
12. Why would they not deserve to be there? It's the playoffs and everyone deserves the right to be there especially a #2 seed.
13. As I'm sure many people will, I will be pulling for the public school upset. I don't think it will happen, though.
14. You were right because it wasn't close. You and I had it backwards, though. I decided to go to this game at the last minute instead of the Marion game and I must say that Polk simply dominated Sequatchie in all phases of the game. I don't think any excuses (as is sometimes the case regarding Sequatchie games on this board) can be made about the outcome of this game. Polk was the better team on this night and any other night they could have played.
15. This will be a hard fought game, but I just don't see Polk County winning this game in the end. I think #42 will have a huge game against the Polk defense. I don't think the boys from Polk County will be ready for what is waiting for them in Dunlap. Sequatchie 28 Polk 6 #42 will have about 150 yards rushing
16. I hear Notre Dame has a good team this week. I'm pulling for the public school upset, but it is not going to happen. ND has way too much speed for the Tigers. ND by 21
17. I'm tired of hearing about Boyd to be honest with you.
18. How does the rest of the schedule look for the Chargers?
19. 1. You were accusing the refs of having an effect on the game which is false. (By the way, the game was played at Tyner for those who didn't know.) 2. I'm not going to go into last year's Tyner/Sequatchie game. It's been talked about numerous times already. 3. As already stated, I'm correcting your opinion that the refs had an effect on the game. Three things- 1-What was I accusing? 2-How did Tyner get screwed last year-be specific. 3-What needs to be corrected? 825366164
20. Well I'm going to respond before Indian gets his feelings hurt and the topic gets locked. A friend of mine taped the Tyner/Polk game and I watched it this afternoon. Almost every one of Tyner's penalties were false starts, and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a holding, pass interference, or block in the back penalty called the whole game. These are the types of calls that you would say were objective calls that could go either way. False start and delay of game penalties are pretty obvious. I didn't see any plays that looked like Polk should have been called for a penalty. This was a well-played game by both teams and frankly it's stupid for you to get on here and make accusations when you have no idea what happened in the game. Also, I'm a valley supporter who was at the Tyner/Sequatchie game last year so I know the real story in that game. Tyner was basically screwed the whole game and the truth came out in the paper so the people who were not at the game could know the truth. I'm upset that Sequatchie was beaten, but I'm not going to get on here and create a smokescreen controversy. I'm not trying to start an argument with Indian, but I just felt like he was throwing some unjust statements out there that needed to be corrected. quote=Indian,Oct 3 2004 - 03:28 PM] How do you think Polk managed zero penalties? 825365971
21. Jwinston, I've noticed that in your posts that you seem to be a Meigs' fan. Didn't Polk and Meigs play earlier in the year? I'm guessing then that you think that Polk playing Meigs doesn't count as a quality opponent. How can you expect Meigs to beat Seq Co if they are not a quality opponent for Polk? I'm just curious because I've seen Seq play, but not Meigs. I think Seq will take care of business and then possibly be ranked themselves.
