Like i had said before in an earlier post i am a pickett co. bobcat fan through and through but this past friday i had that wildcat spirit as i cheered on the wildcats as they beat notre dame, and ill have that same spirit again this saturday when the wildcats play for the state title. Wilson Cates is an amazing athlete no question about it he can do it all and i hope he and the rest of the cats have one more big game left in them and bring that state title to LA, Go WILDCATS!!

All im gonna say about this subject is that everyone will be chasing Clay Co. this year Jackson Co & Pickett Co. i think will be the best competition they have but with Pickett being so young i dont think this will be there year but they will give everyone a run for there money(with the exception of LA on tues. night) but this will be Clay Co. year to dominate 7A good luck to all the teams and hope all have a good year, Go Bobcats!!!!!

This may be the most solid district in Class A this year, you have at least 5 teams that will make some noise with Jackson Co, Clarkrange, RBS, Clay Co., & Pickett Co. not sure about Monterey & Hermitage Springs but this is definitely a solid district and i also believe Jackson Co. & Clarkrange will be playin for the Gold ball in March.

well im a pickett co. bobcat fan through & through and since we dont have a football program to speak of i always keep up with LA football. I was against LA on tuesday night when they handed it to my bobcats in basketball, but ill be all BLUE & WHITE tonight against the irish should be a tough game a game that will probably be decided by the defense unless cates and the rest of the backfield get it going then it may be a long ride home for the irish, Go Wildcats hope you guys get the job done and play for the State Title next week in the boro

I hope Joe goes and plays college ball, and wherever he goes he will be a great addition to any team, he has tons of talent and i hope he does well on the college level, good luck Joe and the rest of the bobcat seniors on everything you do in the future. By the way its not being cocky if you back it up and joe has backed it up plenty more times than not.

I want to first say Congratulations to Temple on an outstanding season. I was really hoping to see a Temple/Pickett Co. final but i guess will have to wait on that now. Unfortunately i didnt get to see the Temple game but i didnt sound like they played very well. Our boys didnt have a good game at all, i think nerves and a good Wayne Co. D really got to our boys tonight. I just want to say as a Bobcat fan i have alot of respect for Temple and what they have accomplished and hopefully you guys can come up to byrdstown next year. I know there were alot of Pickett Co. fans excited when they heard Temple lost but i had mixed emotions because first i wanted to see a Temple/Pickett final and also just because Temple lost didnt mean we were going to win and we didnt. But all trash talking aside, again congrats on a great season and good luck to Temple next season.

Well i hate to see our season end like this, but the better team won the game congrats on the victory wayne co. and good luck the rest of the tourney. The Bobcats were fortunate to even be in the game at the end. I think we shot as a team like 32% from the field, and like 26% from 3 land. Wayne Co. shot like 56% or so for the game. We did do well defensively most of the game forcing several turnovers but the shots just wouldnt go down for us. Congrats to our 5 starting seniors(Bailey,Staton, Wright,Mason,Groce) you guys have given us alot to cheer about these past 4 years and you guys should be proud of the accomplishments you guys have made. You guys were one of the best 8 teams in Class A this year and thats definitely something to be proud of. Good luck to you guys in whatever you do after high school. As for next year, anyone who knows Pickett Co. basketball knows next year will be a rebuilding year for us with 5 new starters not alot of experience and very young, but there is tons of talent and it may take a couple of years but i wouldnt be surprised to see the cats back in the boro. Congrats on a great season bobcats and to Coach Bibb(coach of the year) and best of luck next year, ill be there all year supporting you guys once again.

I think the Bobcats will take this one. I understand Wayne Co. has 3 players 6'5" and up so that could give us fits in the post, but as long as we knock down those perimeter shots we will win, Bobcats by 6.

Well Pickett doesnt have just one player, they have a solid starting 5, and Temple isnt all about the Skogens either, they are solid all around as well. I wouldnt look past Unaka either, they are the defending state champs you know.

I dont remember for sure if any of them played, i believe a couple of them did. It will definitely be different at the boro, and unless they have played at the boro during a summer camp or something like that then the 2002 tourney is the only time they have played down there.

I dont think we will rely solely on the 3 at the boro, we have done well with the inside game this year especially here in the postseason, so think they've got a team that will make a run for the gold.

Bailey is the only one who hasnt been to the state tourney, the other 4 starters played there freshman year in 2002 i believe. Bailey is a senior. As far as Sikwitit, he says some very ignorant thing and gives us a bad name, but i still believe that sikwitit isnt from Byrdstown, i mean he came out before the Temple game after it was over he was gone and then was back briefly during Tourney time running his mouth about whatever i dont pay him/her much attention and no one else should either.

Please i can name 3 teams in the tourney right now that can beat you, Temple, Pickett, and Unaka, just because you have Doaks doesnt mean the gold is yours.

The reason Grace had an off game is because we jumped on them early and got in there heads, and we took control of the game. So i will admit Grace had an off night. Im not going off on anyone, im just saying i have heard more negatives towards Pickett than positive, and to those of you who show respect and give credit were it is due then thank you. I would love to see Pickett Co./Temple in the State Finals, because i truely believe it would be a matchup of the 2 best teams in the state.

Its hard for me to believe anyone gives credit to us when all we hear about is how bad Grace played and how we are idiots and hillbillies and you name it weve been called it, but hey whatever helps you all sleep at night, and just for the record, when Temple beat us i gave them all the credit, they outplayed us all around and got the W. So call us names say our team isnt good say what you want about us, wether your just having fun or are serious about it, keep it up it'll just add fuel to the fire and make us want to bring home the gold even more.

If we get the chance we most certainly will run with Temple.

How about we give the bobcats a little credit fo once people. First of all their defense in the first half was outstanding as it was all game long, they forced several turnovers during the game, and on the offensive end were knocking down there shots and had several easy layups. They outplayed Grace in every aspect of the game last night. As for Temple, yes there an awesome all know that, but give me a break, they arent unstoppable, they can be beaten just like anyone can, and i think we can run with them. I saw 2 or 3 times during the game there were Grace players having a hard time catching there breath cause the Cats were up and down so fast, and didnt Grace stay with Temple twice in the last 2 games they played, i think so. We can play with Temple and we can run with Temple, all we have to do is play with the same intensity and confidence that weve played with during the tounaments and we can play with anyone wether anyone wants to believe it or not, and im sure our boys dont mind being the underdog, that will make them just want to win more, Go Cats!!!

The Lady Buffs have my support from here in Byrdstown, hope you ladies can bring home your second in a row, and ill say they get off to a good start tomorrow with an 8 point victory. Good luck lady buffaloes bring another championship home to 7A.

I just want to say a couple of things to the Grace fans and any players who said we were going down, i told you so, our boys were ready to play tonight and could have played with anyone last night. The second thing I wanted to say is that I wanted to wish you guys luck next season, there seems to be lots of potential on the team and some very good shooters and having a freshman that is 6'8" or how ever tall he is isnt bad either, so congats also to the golden eagles on a good season and best of luck next year. Boys were heading back to the boro, make the best of it play hard like youve been playing and bring the gold ball back to Byrdstown. Go Bobcats!!!!!

Yeah the Wake/NC state game was crazy, very exciting day in college basketball indeed.

I hope that trend will prove to be true also CASC1995, its gonna be a tough road though for sure.
