  1. Just wondering if the transfer running back from Brighton played against the Jackets last season in first round of playoffs? The quarterback and him will be a tough task for the Jackets on the road , just hoping we get our A game from the Jackets.
  2. If I remember correctly in 1992 Mike scored a TD on a long run at Macon Co. then on the next play caused a fumble on defense and caught fumble in mid air and ran it in for another TD back to back.I don’t know how many TDS he had that game playing only one half in a 75-0 game. Springfield football family in last two years has lost two of the all time best RB ‘s in Ricky Chatman (1975-77) and Mike Thomas (1989-92) .
  3. Think this could be a good one . Just looking at Mt. Juliet on the field can be imposing but it is a team that hasn’t reached its full potential yet in my opinion.I haven’t seen Page much this season but I believe they have another outstanding team. I believe the Patriots get it done unless that MJ team finally puts it together. I believe Page gets the win pulling away late for the win 35-24 . Being a Springfield supporter, Page receiver #12 Boyce Smith is the great great grandson of former Springfield legendary Coach Boyce Smith and at the end of the season led Page in receiving yards.Hoping for a good injury free ballgame.
  4. This week has brought sadness with the passing of 1992 Mr. Football Michael Thomas. He was one of greatest to play for the Jackets at fullback winning the AA Mr. Football award in 1992 , combined with speed and power he was a big reason the Jackets were 38-12 with 2qtr final appearances and 1 Semifinals appearance. Mike was at several Jackets games the last few years and got the pleasure of shaking his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed watching him run the football , he was very appreciative and was very friendly to hear this from a stranger. Michael Thomas gone way too soon.Prayers to his family and the Yellow Jacket family.
  5. That’s right great LB that UT didn’t offer a scholarship and I heard he would’ve walk to Knoxville if they had offered. Fulmer passed on several in state players like Randall Cobb of Alcoa that turned out to be big mistakes. Patrick Turner is the player I was trying to remember from Goodpasture that went on to play at USC .
  6. In 2005 East Robertson a 1 seed lost to 4 seed Richland 12-7. Ironically the Indians won the Region that was loaded with private schools , they defeated Goodpasture for the Region title who went on to the Championship losing to Alcoa ,if I remember correctly Patrick Willis ? was on that team and went on to sign with USC.
  7. Jackets should get their fifth win , don’t know anything about Kenwood other than they put some good athletes on the field . That being said I’ll go Jackets 38-7.
  8. Happy Birthday Coach t . Absolutely love this platform.
  9. Jackets clicking on all cylinders. Good win the way the Jackets swarm to the ball is very impressive. One game at a time with lots of football to be played yet , but the Jackets look very impressive so far.
  10. Man I would guess that their fanbase is largest that participate on Coach T . I know that I do enjoy a few of their posters , I know last year it mysteriously happened after a loss.
  11. I know their QB and several others return and last years game was closer than the score indicated. I know every time I thought we had them put away they would score on a big play putting themselves within distance of tying the game.
  12. Northeast will no doubt be the most athletic team we have played thus far. The Eagles have a new head coach who previously was coaching a semi-pro team and by reading his quotes before the season started ,talent wasn’t the problem at Northeast. The Jackets have been playing lights out on defense and on kickoffs we have been consistently put the ball in the end zone and I’m hoping it continues because Northheast will have dangerous folks that could carry it to the house and when offenses start from the 20 it makes a big difference. It is still to early to get feel for many teams and I put Northeast in that category , that being said I’ll take the Jackets 35-21. GO JACKETS !
  13. Old time rivals meet again for the 99th time in one of the oldest rivalries if not the oldest in the state . For this generation the rivalry might not seem as big as Clarksville grew and more and more schools were added , the rivalry between the city schools replaced this one. When the Jackets started playing AA in the late 80’s the in county schools in the AA classification at the time became instant rivals. Springfield leads the series 57-37-4 but in the games when the two met in the playoffs Clarksville has been a thorn in the Jackets side after winning the regular season game the Wildcats won in the playoffs in 1981,2006,2010. As far as this year’s games I’ve got the Jackets 31-17 . The local writers who cover both teams teams have the Jackets to win. The Clarksville writer has the JACKETS by 2 touchdowns and the writer covering SHS takes the Jackets by a touchdown.Sonny Moore Power ratings has the Jackets by 29 . The Friday Night Rivals crew will be broadcasting the game on MyTV 30 .
  14. Well I was way off on my prediction, Jackets roll 35-0 and second year in a row Greenbrier kicking game cost them. Was nice to see the two basketball players contributing to the team and #27 back from injury last year gives our team rest another weapon on both sides of the ball. What can you say about #14 looks like he has picked up some speed from last year. Good win and best of luck for the bobcats the rest of the way.
  15. Sonny Moore has the Jackets favored by 28 in his before the season power ratings.
  16. Football is finally here and time for the in county rivalry with the Bobcats. Springfield leads the series 19-6 having won the last 8 in a row. I expect this years game to be more competitive than some of the previous matchups. Greenbrier has a D1 player already committed to Tennessee and I’m hearing a transfer from Knoxville Catholic on the roster and along with several players who have improved from last years team. That being said the Jackets return several players from last year’s team and probably the largest senior classes in my recent memory, who by the way haven’t given a point to the Bobcats in the last three matchups and l’m sure will be eager to keep the streak alive. I’ll take the Jackets 24-13. Hoping to hear from some Greenbrier faithful on their predictions.
  17. This Springfield fan will be pulling for the Page High School Patriots to bring a gold ball to middle Tennessee. Didn’t know until around mid season that our legendary Hall of Fame coach the late Boyce Smith has a great grandson playing WR for Page. His late grandfather known here as W.B. Was a stand out player for the Jackets and Vanderbilt, who later was a referee in the NFL. Go Bring a Championship to Middle Tennessee.
  18. Better get a step ladder Little man , you’ll need it.
  19. SPT football has eight straight winning seasons, 3 quarterfinal appearances, 3 semifinal appearances, 2 State final appearances and 4 straight Region Championships. Beat your chest on that one County Championship middle school trophy. Forgive me for not posting your overall record so far of 2-8. Hope your players get better coaching as they move on , they deserve better than a bitter coach who jokes about a loss for a 10-3 Region Championship school.
  20. Winning ? Last in your division 0-4 , Rucker-Stewart 44 Portland East 7. Do they have mercy rule in boys middle school basketball ? How many points did your team have at the half ? I win wherever I go ? Not this season. I believe I’d stay off Coach T and start coaching your own team. SPT land wishing for you to have a good rest of the season.
  21. Yep, kids got football genes for sure. His grandfather was at one all time leading passer for Vanderbilt and officiated in the NFL.
  22. Congratulations to Page , especially Page WR Boyce Smith, the great great grandson of legendary Hall of Fame Springfield Coach Boyce Smith Sr.
  23. Hope they will be able to do it. This is our 59th playoff game ,was in attendance at 57 of them and a few bowl games. Man I’m old.
  24. Just wondering if Brighton has a local radio station that will broadcast this game live? I will be unable to attend, Sociial Dweebs will not be able to stream playoffs because the T$$AA charges unreal fee to do the game. I was hoping a station down there did the game and I could get it online, I was also wondering if Social Dweebs will be able to do just audio online ?
  25. How is the handicapped parking for the visitor side of the stadium?
