  1. swing...you from Milan?...really...really...wow - "CULT kOOL AID", SUMMER OL"Y"MPICS...you still in school? Camden has a pretty decent team/program. If you have something personal with Rcombs, I apologize. If not, uh...
  2. Has Alcoa been able to rest their players much over the past several weeks. Haven't seen many blowouts lately except for my mc chargers. Tyner? CAK II? You guys have a tough bracket.
  3. Hopefully Coleman isn't coming back to early. Did something change from his earlier prognosis? Hopefully he can be used sparingly in this game but Camden has been the real deal all year. Haven't seen them but the folks on their board have been very optimistic all year. Disappointed that their qb got hurt. Milan definitely needs to be playing teams that allow them to play four quarters to be prepared for future games. I hope this isn't a trap game for the Dawgs as it would be easy to lose focus especially with the Camden injuries and the GP upset.
  4. OK. Since I got your attention and hopefully GC, what has happened to their team. I haven't followed them much lately, so I guess I'm a little lost as to how they ended up so bad this year. Are they really that bad or was this just a bad year with tough competition. Hate to see that program continually struggle from its conception.
  5. thanks for the bracket info. I guess they revolve home field across the quarter brackets. Oh well, I guess that means I might be able to make the GP game, if that happens. So it works for me.
  6. lol. I thought you did not make excuses. Everyone deals with injuries. I think Milan started the year with about 9 seniors out. Also Coleman had a high ankle sprain and was not himself for a few games. Then there was the flu bug that hit. Of course it hit the week of Huntingdon. We played that game without our starting QB. We overcame. Quit making excuses. Gibson Co. was and is still not a good football team. Sorry to break to ya. Ignorant. You are hilarious. GCPioneer is king of the double standard. GCPioneer is a seemingly well traveled person which typically talks highly of Milan and West Tn football on a lot of different threads. To stick up for his team or make excuses...well...that is about what 99% of fans do. Regardless of what you think most people tend to have severely tinted glasses when it comes to their team and no glasses at all when it comes to others. That being said, I would say that you have purple tinted glasses and are among the 99% of fans. I truly hope that I am in the 99% also. That being said I hate to see the Milan boys not make the ballot. Having seen them and the Alcoa bunch, I easily could see Williamson being the best O/D back in the classification. But my opinion is worth didley.
  7. hopin for a shutout - let's say 42-0. Milan needs to roll and be focused in each an every game they got left starting with this one. now is not the time to get sloppy. Hope ya'll have fun at the game. If Milan continues to win, do they play at home throughout the playoffs? I would think so, but this bracket stuff has still got me confused.
  8. Bet Quince is wishing T Rob and quatro would have been doing some blocking instead of throwing their hands up. Just saying.
  9. Then, heck, let's give it to the whole O-line! ILuvsports: You're right. I can't count the # of times I thought he had been tackled just to see him running down the field. No doubt Alcoa has best O-line in state. Well coached, disciplined, big, and nasty. The guys you have up front are awesome. How many come back next year?
  10. Anybody that Milan has played run a similar offense? What kind of points have they put up against tuffer opposition? Based on some of the earlier games, Milan can't afford to overlook anybody. One game at time. Got it. Everbody is beatable and everybody is capable of beating you on any given night.
  11. I like the 'tude. Pretty good game here. Tough 1st round draw for both. But haven't seen anyone talking upset yet. Looks like Friday night will be awesome weather for some football. Good luck to both teams. Gotta go with Alcoa ...35-21.
  12. I find it funny that Alcoa thought they dominated the title game last year. WOW. Take off your maroon tinted glasses. I also thought it funny that there was a thread about Alcoa being the best football team in Tennessee regardless of classification. I doubt they are even the best 3A team. Alcoa has best O line in the state, a very good D line, great coach, and good fans. But other than that they are just better than average to good. Seriously. That may or may not be good enough to win the gold ball this year. Milan, if they stay focused on each opponent, should have a chance to win.
  13. Avery is the one that deserves it IMO. Toney benefits tremendously from his very good offensive line that is at Alcoa. Toney is good, but no way Toney is a better back (O&D) than jabronski or avery. Avery was the MVP for the clinic bowl last year and Milan lost. That should tell us something. Robinsion is very good but I'll be interested to see who else gets nominated. I think Brown may be the better pick.
  14. Wow...just looked at the brackets. Looks like Milan's quarter and Goodpasture quarter are "less than" loaded. I'm not sure I understand the seatings of the lower tier teams, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Based on last nights win at CC, Milan has a real shot this year. I know its early, but Milan has a chance. Looks like the Camden-Manassess winner and Goodpasture will be tough games. Milan will have to have an answer for the big uglies at Alcoa but Milan probably has better folks at the skill positions, IMHO. But that's a long way away. Good luck Milan and I hope to see you in Cookeville. Not sure how Milan gets a 6 win team at #8 when there are 3 win teams with higher seeds...wierd. Bulldog Fan 2, do you understand.
  15. Milan...it's time to get back to the show. If you really think you got a chance at gold, you better look good against the cavs. I hate to say it, but you really haven't been all that convincing this year. I know the scores look good, but you all know most of those games were closer than the final score showed. If you got a chance against the boys from the east, you gotta show out on the much better than average cavs team because it ain't gonna get any easier. I'm rooten for ya all the way through Cookeville. Milan 35-10 without CColeman because they know what they want.
  16. Is Coleman done for the year? or is there a chance he could be back later in the playoffs?
  17. What's up with Christian Coleman? Hope the kid is OK. He has a great future ahead of him. Sounds like on obviouse CHEAP shot. If not I apologize for my reaction. I hope the Dyersburg coaching staff handles the situation appropriately but it sounds like they got bigger fish to fry. I am sure some will probably say it is "just" football. Maybe your right, but I would like to see the CHEAP shot. If nothing else I hope the CHEAP shot kid is still on the team next year (if there is a Dyersburg team next year). What goes around comes around. Would like to see Christian take care of it.
  18. If Polk Co passes Milan that will be funny. Seems like they are getting closer every week. Not sure how that happens. Funny.
  19. I'm really surprised that there has not been more posting on the Central site. Didn't get to make it to the game but it sounds like Central did much better. Did they get the whole quarterback exchange problem worked out? What was that all about anyway? Did somebody get suspended or something? Anybody have a particular good game? Hope we look this good against Sweetwater.
  20. Nice point...but I think you would be surprised of how bad some of the lower teir teams are over here. Really...GC would even be "good" over here. I would not be surprised if GC could beat McMinn Central (my team). However the thread is about Mr. Football. Robinson is a hoss, but it would be interesting if some of the other lineman on other less successful teams get in the mix. I would have thought Jobronski would have had a better season, but I really haven't heard that much dominance out of him. Sounds like Avery is every bit as good as him on offense and he is a man on defense.
  21. Sounds like Coach Ward has got a pretty good program now a days. What are Camden's strengths? Running? Passing? Defense? Living in the East, it sounds like it will be either Camden or Milan to get to Cookeville. Haven't seen ya'll play in a couple years, but I hear ya'll are tough. Do you think you can get to Cookeville?
  22. Sounds like Dyersburg is having some growing pains. Trying to do the right things but forgetting the basics of the game - making men out of boys. Seems like a lot of coaches only worry about winning which works great when they are winning but creates division when things go wrong. A couple of weeks ago, Dyersburg was a good team. Nobody has really changed but the attitude has. Dyersburg needs to check their attitude at the door (including the coaches) and get to work. At this point its not about beating the Bulldogs, its about figuring out that the team is bigger than the rest of this junk they got going. Its was going to be close, but now...Dogs by 21 but they better button up and come ready for a fight. The dogs have got to get much better to get to their real goal in Cookeville.
  23. Ummm. Being from west tn and living in east tn for the past 10 years, I can tell you there is NOT a whole lot of difference. Yes, there are a some good teams over here. But there is a big gap from the top feeder to the middle of the pack. I actually think that middle and west tn ball is better top to middle of the pack. East TN currently probably has the "top" teams (Alcoa and Maryville), but do not think for a minute that west tn ballers can't play with the best in east tn. I thought the same as you before living here and I my eyes have been opened.
  24. Would be kinda cool to see how "good" TN schools do against "good" out of state teams. Don't guess you guys know of any existing threads that keep up with that sort of stuff???
  25. No offense, but it only takes 22 players to make a team (really not that many). Assuming you would want back-ups and a complete program, let's call it a cool 80 kids. You get the right kids then you could be 1A and be the best in the state. The thread is about top 100 teams in the nation. I fully believe Alcoa is the best team in 3a in TN. I would think it would be great to see Alcoa play against some of the bigger school teams because I truly don't buy into big schools being better than a small (good football program) school. It is common for most people to consider the larger school to win a state championship in the classification to be the best. What else does Alcoa need to prove @ 3a? It would make for a good story for a small Alcoa school to win the 5a championship and knock off some of the big bullies. It would also help with the whole OOZ discussion, since this was a "similar" discussion to how the whole Division II conversion got started way back when. Once again, my congratulations go to the Alcoa football team for this outstanding ranking accomplishment. See ya in December.
