I think the SC team that we have seen in the scrimmages and week 0 will be there (or I hope so). This game has the makings to be the game to watch of the season, IMO. If both teams show up and leave it all on the field, The fans could be in for a show!

I hope Cannon County wins every game except for when they play the Owls. So go Lions from another Smith Countian.

I know the flag bearers personally and you will not find a better group of guys. They in no way mean any harm and just really enjoy supporting Cannon County and other schools as well. They support Smith County when when they have the chance. Last year during the Cannon Smith game they brought the flags over and sit right in the middle of the SC section and cheered for CC, nobody got mad or upset but laughed and had fun with it. When the playoffs came around they came to Smith County with their flags but when they unrolled them they had Smith County flags on the inside and cheered for and supported SC just like it was their school. So like Patty Peepers said, I would encourage you to go introduce yourself to them and wish them luck. You wont be sorry that you did they are a great group of guys and High School Supporters!

Smith County is the most talented team in this years match up. But it is similar to past years. Regardless of talent level on either side Gville will play above theirs as they always do in this game. If the Owls can "weather the storm" at the start of the game then they have the opportunity to run away with it. Not trying to start anything just calling like I see it.

He is and will be a great asset to the program. Like Termite said he is being brought along at a freshmans pace. Does he need more touches, I think so too, but I am not at practice everyday so my opinion don't matter much. One thing to remember is he had a hip injury, that might be a concern. He don't mind lowering his shoulder to deliver a hit, but when he is about to take a hit he tends to shy away, that's from when he got injured. I would say that is another thing the coaches are working on in practice to get his confidence back up. Most of the time if you try to avoid contact that's when you will get injured. Again not taking anything away from him, he is and will be a great player. Also there is #8 who is just a sophomore, he is still learning and progressing nicely. So really they have 2 young running backs they are trying to get touches and game experience, not something SC is used to having. One thing for sure the future is looking bright for SC Football.

Well at least this thread is more entertaining than last weeks with Dekalb was. Then again it's not surprising the Macon Yappers always got a thought or two bouncing around in those round heads.

I was thinking he was a Sr. I hope he is a Jr. I will have to check on that. He did a pretty good job in his 2 starts considering his lack of reps with the team. I knew Tuck would be back, SC Coaches won't pull a starting position due to injury or sickness. I agree with that, but hopefully 71 will continue to improve and earn his starting spot.

I thought 71 was a Senior? You are talking about the new kid, there were 2 71's on the sideline Friday night.

All of these have been impressive. I have been very impressed with Sapp, I hope he stays healthy, if so he will have a bright future ahead of him as will many of the younger players who have stepped up this year. Termite, I hope we didn't wake you up this past Sat. morning with all the shooting going on just down the road from ya.

The center Tuck has it and will not be playing, that was as of Tuesday could have changed or more could have gotten it since.

Should be an interesting game this week, I know Gville is excited about this years team, and knowing there players and talent level they should be. I was impressed with SC this past Friday night. IMO the Defense just needs some game experience, the O-line is young but for the most part they are seasoned just need some playing time to get up to speed on this level. Wakefield needs to quit dancing and run north and south and he has the potential to be dangerous this year. As far as this game I believe it will be close and well played. SC will have to play 4 quarters, and make the 3-4 plays that Termite talked about. SC 21 Gville 14

I forgot to save me a few good sticks last week when I trimmed my trees Thinking I am just gonna buy me a good Hot Stick from the ol' Co-Op. Would have to be better than having to keep sharpening a stick, Should make things a little more exciting

Actually I was up there for that and there was only 5 guys that was from SC that was mouthin the York people and they are not from Smith County. They was visiting from Florida and has a cousin on SC team. This was the first game they have ever attended of SC's. So please don't hold that against the fans that are actually from Smith County and support them every week. Also congrats York on a good. Now go stick it to Milan and represent our region.

3 weeks ago in Jamestown is gone and over with. That was the 1st season, It's playoff's now a whole new season. It is SC vs York this time in the Hole. Vince Lombardi once said "I firmly believe that any man's finest hour is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle, victorious." If every SC player that steps on the field Friday Night plays up to this, as they have the past 2 weeks, then I believe SC gets the win. Owls at 7:00 tom night it's game time, 48 minutes of all out war for the chance at another game. Is SC ready to go the distance and push their selves do to what it takes to get the win? I know they are! Next question is are the SC fans ready to do the same? Friday night is time to truly get the HOLE Rockin!

If he is part Hoggtownian then he has to have thick skin and must a pretty good guy. As for the game should be a good game. If SC comes out like they have the last 2 weeks then York may have a long ride home.

Great job tonight Owls! Definatly found your intensity that had been missing the last few weeks. I thought it was an unbelievable display of heart that every player showed tonight that stepped on the field. Also great job sidelines and great job fans everybody stayed in the game for the full 48 minutes. Keep up the hard work it only gets tougher from here.

I am afraid they have, not given up per say, but have gotten down on certain aspects, things that can't be brought out on here. I don't think they have given up on each other, or wanting to win by no means. Like I said in my last post they just need to go out Friday night and play with their hearts and play for each other, if they do then things should be lookin good come 4th quarter.
